Why Princess Diana Regretted Mentioning One Former Lover in 'Panorama' Interview, Per Royal Expert
Princess Diana's Panorama interview became instantly famous as the royal opened up about everything from her marriage to King Charles to their alleged affairs. While discussing how Princess Diana might have reacted to Prince Harry's BBC interview, royal expert and author Ingrid Seward also dished on the one aspect of the Panorama interview Princess Diana regretted.
During an appearance on Hello!'s "A Right Royal Podcast," Seward discussed Diana's initial thoughts after filming the 1995 interview with Panorama. "I saw her quite shortly after that, so obviously I asked her, and she said, 'No, I don't regret any of it,'" Seward claimed.
The royal expert continued, "She said, 'I got thousands of letters about other people who suffered from anorexia and bulimia.'" However, there was one thing the former Princess of Wales allegedly wished she hadn't discussed.
According to Seward, Diana told her, "The only thing I felt a bit bad about was talking about James Hewitt." The royal expert continued, "She had said, if you remember, that she was in love with him, or had been in love with him, and she felt bad for William and Harry saying that."
Hewitt was Princess Diana's horseback riding instructor, and the pair reportedly had an affair between 1986 and 1991. Aside from discussing her relationship with Hewitt, Diana allegedly "thought [Panorama] was a successful interview."
Seward also discussed how she believes Princess Diana would have reacted to Prince Harry giving such a candid interview to the BBC. "I think she might have been proud," Seward said during her appearance on the show.
Seward continued, "I think she would, I'm guessing, that she might have been quite proud of him for speaking up and saying what he thought, because that's what she liked. She liked to say exactly what she thought and then deal with the consequences afterwards, which is, of course, what happened to her."

Kelly Osbourne has thanked fans for their 'support' during the 'hardest moment' of her life following the death of her father, the Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne. 'Grief is a strange thing — it sneaks up on you in waves — I will not be ok for a while — but knowing my family are not alone in our pain makes a difference. On Monday, Birmingham City Council began gathering up the tributes so they can be stored before being handed over to the Osbourne family. A handful of fans watched from behind barriers, took photographs and hugged each other as officials in hi-vis jackets collected all the flowers and tributes which had been laid in front of the bench and on the railings behind it. The council said the mementos would be gathered and preserved 'respectfully' in agreement with the rock star's relatives and then stored 'with the utmost care at a secure location, ensuring they are protected and treated with dignity'. The council said: 'In due course, they will be passed on to the Osbourne family, so they may keep them as a lasting reminder of the public's affection and support.' In a statement released through the city council, the Osbourne family said: 'We are deeply moved by the heartfelt tributes that have been placed at the Black Sabbath Bridge and at the Black Sabbath mural on Navigation Street in recent days. 'These expressions of remembrance reflect the profound impact that Ozzy had on the city and its people, as well as fans from around the world – BIRMINGHAM FOREVER!'

Barry McIlheney was joyously rock ‘n' roll, memorial service told
Former editor of Smash Hits and Empire magazines Barry McIlheney was a leader who was also 'joyously rock 'n' roll and punk rock', a memorial service has heard. The service at St Mark's in Dundela, Belfast, allowed former friends and colleagues to gather and celebrate the life of the journalist, broadcaster and publisher, who also launched Heat magazine. Mr McIlheney, originally from Belfast, died in May at the age of 65. Among those paying tribute at the service on Monday was Mike Edgar, formerly a BBC producer, who said Mr McIlheney had been a 'very special man'. He said: 'Barry had an unstoppable passion for music and everyone you could think of in the world of music had respect for him, and rightly so. 'Without Barry I would never have encountered the crazy worlds of Vince Power or The Pogues. 'They all loved him.' He added: 'Barry was a true journalist, someone who exuded confidence at the right time and never missed a good opportunity if it presented itself. 'On one occasion he was live on the radio with me doing a report from a phone box on Carnaby Street in London and as ever feeding in the 10 pence pieces and entertaining us royally. 'Whilst chatting live on-air, Barry looks out the phone box window and spots Depeche Mode walking down Carnaby Street. 'As quick as anything Baz kicks the door of the phone box open and shouts: 'Hey lads, come and talk to the good people of Northern Ireland on the radio!' – which unbelievably, they dutifully did. 'There then followed a Guinness Book of Records-style moment with three members of Depeche Mode and Barry stuffed into a phone box for what turned into a great moment of showbiz madness 'Only Barry McIlheney would have the brass neck to carry off same!' Mr Edgar said McIlheney, despite his success, had always remained passionate about Belfast. He said: 'Like his contemporaries David Hepworth, Mark Ellen or Niall Stokes, Barry might have worn a suit on occasion but no one could ever call him 'a suit'! 'Barry was a leader, but he was also joyously rock 'n' roll and punk rock.' He added: 'He was well read, brave in his work, always curious, never boring, always kind and always impressive. 'Barry was larger than life, he always greeted us with a smile on his face, wearing his big coat with an upturned collar, a cheeky glint in his eye, a smart one-liner up his sleeve, and a well-earned loveable Belfast swagger.' Delivering the homily at the service, Archbishop of Armagh Rev John McDowell said 'the good that Barry did will not be interred with his bones but will live on in your memories forever'. He said: 'Barry never forgot where he came from, but he didn't talk nonsense about it either. 'It wasn't everything and it wasn't nothing.'

Calvin Harris and Vick Hope welcome son into the world
Calvin Harris has become a father for the first time. The Feel So Close hitmaker and his wife Vick Hope welcomed their son Micah into the world two weeks ago and the DJ has praised his spouse as a "superhero" after being by her side throughout the water birth. Sharing a selection of photos from Micah's birth, including a graphic shot of the placenta and it subsequently being turned into capsules of powder, Calvin wrote on Instagram: "20th of July our boy arrived. Micah is here! My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom! Just so grateful. We love you so much Micah." Vick reshared Calvin's photo of himself and Micah on her own Instagram Story and wrote: "My boys." The BBC Radio 1 presenter confirmed her pregnancy on her radio show in May. She said: "I should probably also say this is my final week before I go on maternity leave." Co-host Jamie Laing replied: "You're an amazing friend, an amazing person, and you're just going to be an amazing mum." Calvin, 41, and Vick, 35, got married in an outdoor ceremony at Hulne Priory in Alnwick, Northumberland, in September 2023. After their vows, guests including 'Big Brother's AJ Odudu and DJs Vernon Kay, Scott Mills and Jordan North were treated to a Glastonbury-style reception that included a live performance from Nile Rodgers and Chic, who flew in from the US especially for the celebrations. According to The Sun newspaper, Calvin told Vick during their vows: 'I promise to be your teammate, best friend and companion for life'. In return, his bride said: 'The pure, unadulterated euphoria I was seeking when we met? I found it instantly in you. 'I promise to keep us laughing together and to keep us meditating on and glowing in it every day for the rest of our lives'. During the reception, teepees were set up for guests to relax, and a variety of food trucks offered burgers, pizzas, and Nigerian dishes. Nile kicked off his set with Luther Vandross' 'Never Too Much' before playing hits by Madonna, David Bowie, Beyonce and Pharrell Williams and ending on his own song, 'Good Times'. Revellers then enjoyed a 10-minute firework display and there were 80 tents set up for them to camp on site overnight. A source said: 'Calvin and Vick's wedding was a day none of their guests will ever forget.'
