HCLSoftware has rolled out version 14.5 of its HCL Domino platform, with a focus on meeting the needs of governments and other organizations that handle sensitive data. This update introduces several changes aimed at improving data privacy, security, and compliance, particularly in regions with strict regulations.
A key part of this release is Domino IQ, a new AI extension designed to give users more control over how artificial intelligence is applied within their systems. Instead of relying on external or cloud-based AI services, organizations can use their own models or ones developed by trusted partners. This approach not only helps in meeting local compliance requirements, such as those outlined in the European AI Act, but also reduces dependence on non-domestic infrastructure.
In addition to AI tools, the new version includes updates to improve security and accessibility. The platform now supports tools for managing security events and incidents, and has received certification aligned with BSI standards. It also meets the guidelines laid out in the European Accessibility Act, ensuring that its web-based services are more usable for a wider range of business users. The update also brings improved deployment options for secure messaging and virtual meetings.
Overall, HCL Domino 14.5 appears to be tailored for organizations operating under strict regulatory conditions, offering a platform that's designed to keep data handling and collaboration both compliant and contained within trusted environments.

Allyant Announces the Launch of its AI-Powered PDF Remediation Software

OTTAWA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Allyant, the leader in accessible document, digital, and print communications solutions today announced the expansion of its widely used CommonLook PDF remediation software, now available as an AI-driven, web-based solution. Powerful AI-driven auto tagging accelerates accessibility for users of every skillset. Additionally, this release includes the option of using a simplified editor or advanced editor—supporting users of every skillset and PDFs of varying complexity. 'This expansion marks a pivotal moment in our mission to make digital accessibility scalable for organizations of all sizes,' said Ariel Kunar, Allyant's Chief Executive Officer. 'By leveraging the power of AI to accelerate progress and giving users the option of a simplified or advanced editing path, we're breaking down barriers to achieve accessibility.' Inaccessible PDFs remain one of the most widespread barriers to digital content, and PDF accessibility is one of the most pervasive problems for organizations to solve. There are trillions of PDFs online and more than 90% are estimated to have accessibility issues. Allyant's CommonLook PDF software helps meet this massive and growing need. The latest software release builds on more than two decades of market-leading innovation, delivering the same trusted capabilities of the legacy software, now with a streamlined interface and AI-powered advanced automation using predictive machine learning detection to automatically tag documents. This release makes high-quality PDF remediation more accessible to non-technical users and large teams alike. For those familiar with the legacy CommonLook PDF software, this release also offers greater access to more users. Previously available only as desktop software, CommonLook PDF can now also be accessed via the web, from any browser on any operating system—including MacOS. "This is more than a product expansion—it's a game-changing step forward for digital inclusion,' said Ferass Elrayes, Allyant's Chief Technology Officer. 'By bringing our powerful tools to more users, we're meeting organizations where they are—equipping them to meet impending compliance deadlines and create PDF content that is accessible for all.' There is a renewed and urgent need for organizations to ensure their PDFs are accessible. The Department of Justice released rulemaking for Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) with specific requirements for U.S. state and local government entities to make their digital communications—including PDFs— accessible, with 2026 and 2027 deadlines looming. The European Accessibility Act (EAA) also requires PDF accessibility, and it applies to any company located anywhere that serves customers in the European Union. AI-driven CommonLook PDF will help organizations more quickly scale their practices to create PDFs that meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), PDF/UA, and HHS standards to comply with these global requirements. And each PDF remediated using CommonLook PDF comes with a unique Validation Report demonstrating that document's state of compliance. QualiBooth Secures €2M to Accelerate Expansion as European Accessibility Legislation Takes Effect

BARCELONA, Spain, July 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- QualiBooth, a rapidly growing digital accessibility startup, today announced it has secured €2 million in new funding and established partnerships with several leading global retailers. The investment will support the company's expansion into Europe, including the opening of a new office in Barcelona, as well as growing its existing operations in the United States. Founded in 2022, QualiBooth has rapidly become a trusted partner for brands and organizations seeking to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the European Accessibility Act (EAA), which came into effect on June 28th. One in five people worldwide, over 1.3 billion, live with disabilities. QualiBooth's AI-powered platform offers a suite of tools that integrate seamlessly into development workflows, empowering product and engineering teams to create accessible, on-brand user experiences at scale. To date, QualiBooth has conducted over 1,000 accessibility audits and helped resolve billions of compliance issues. The platform detects up to 20% more issues than conventional tools and enables teams to take actionable steps toward full compliance - beyond the superficial fixes offered by accessibility overlays and widgets. Clients using the platform cite accessibility scores above 90, significantly outperforming the industry norm of 63. Research to be released by the company reveals a strong positive correlation between improved accessibility and online revenue growth. It attributes this growth, in part, to more accessible brands gaining greater visibility within Large Language Models (LLMs), enhancing their discoverability and reach. "Awareness around the link between LLM visibility and digital accessibility is improving, but remains surprisingly low," said Ken Kralick, CEO of QualiBooth and former Global Head of eCommerce at Puma and LVMH. "What's more, less than 30% of retailers currently publish accessibility statements - yet as of June 28th, the EAA requires many to do so. We're here to ensure compliance doesn't come at the expense of user experience or brand trust." About the European Accessibility Act (EAA) Effective June 28, 2025, the EAA mandates that many businesses operating in the EU ensure their digital products and services are accessible to people with disabilities. This includes e-commerce websites, banking apps, ticketing platforms, eReaders, media players, and customer service interfaces. About the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) The ADA is a landmark U.S. civil rights law passed in 1990 that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life. In the digital age, the ADA has also been interpreted to apply to websites and digital services for people with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments. About QualiBooth QualiBooth simplifies web accessibility compliance through real-time scanning, monitoring, and detailed reporting. Its platform offers a comprehensive accessibility checker, real-time dashboards, and a development assistant, guiding organizations toward ADA, WCAG, and EAA compliance.
