Why did Just Dial share price fall today?
Just Dial's share price came under pressure today despite the company reporting a healthy set of numbers for the June quarter (Q1FY26) as investors flocked to book profits, analysts said. 'The stock is under pressure due to profit booking following a decent Q1 performance,' said Kranthi Bathini, director of equity strategy at WealthMills Securities.
He added, 'In the last three months, the stock has been consolidating and is yet to decisively cross its 200-day moving average. A decisive break above the ₹940 level could trigger an upward rally.'
In Q1FY26, Just Dial posted a 13 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) increase in net profit to ₹160 crore, compared to ₹141 crore in Q1FY25. Revenue for the quarter rose 6.2 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹298 crore, up from ₹281 crore in the same quarter last year.
At the operating level, Ebitda rose 7.2 per cent annually to ₹86.4 crore in Q1FY26, from ₹80.6 crore a year ago. The Ebitda margin also saw a slight improvement, expanding to 29 per cent from 28.7 per cent in Q1FY25.
Echoing similar view, Ravi Singh, SVP of retail research at Religare Broking, said, 'Just Dial's Q1 result was in line with expectations, and today's decline from the ₹960 level is purely on account of profit booking.'
He added, 'Fresh buying could emerge above ₹972, with an upside potential towards ₹1,050-1,100, provided investors manage risk with a 5 per cent stop-loss cap. The stock has also been trading with high volumes above the 20-day average in recent sessions, indicating near-term momentum if supported by price action. The overall outlook remains positive with a higher-lows formation.'
Nuvama on Just Dial
Just Dial (JD) reported Q1FY26 revenue of ₹298 crore, up 3 per cent Q-o-Q and 6.2 per cent Y-o-Y, broadly in line with Nuvama's estimate of ₹301 crore. However, Ebitda margin came in at 29 per cent, missing expectation of 30.2 per cent, primarily due to elevated employee costs and advertising expenses.
Net profit stood at ₹160 crore, ahead of its ₹140 crore estimate, supported by higher other income. Paid campaigns grew modestly by 0.7 per cent Q-o-Q and 4.3 per cent Y-o-Y, while collections declined sharply by 19.2 per cent Q-o-Q, though up 0.6 per cent Y-o-Y.
'We are changing FY26E/27E EPS by +6.8 per cent/-4.3 per cent based on cuts to our growth and profitability expectations, with higher other income in near term lifting EPS in FY26E. Our DCF yields a target price (TP) of ₹1,280 (earlier ₹1,300). Maintain 'Buy' due to valuation support,' the brokerage added.

Buy or sell: Vaishali Parekh recommends three stocks to buy today — 21 July
Buy or sell stocks: In the last session of the previous week, the Indian stock market witnessed sharp selling. Among the key benchmark indices, Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex lost over half a per cent, while the Bank Nifty index lost close to one per cent. Wipro, Bajaj Finance, and Tata Steel showcased strength, emerging as the top performers on the Nifty. Conversely, Axis Bank, Shriram Finance and BEL concluded the session as major losers. Trading volumes on the NSE cash market were slightly lower by 2% compared to yesterday. The broader market also experienced profit booking, mirroring the benchmark indices. The Nifty Midcap 100 fell by 0.70%, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 declined by 0.82%. Market breadth remained negative, with declining stocks outnumbering advancing ones on the BSE, as indicated by an advance-decline ratio of 0.70. Amongst the sectoral indices, Media, Metal, and IT managed to end up as major gainers, showcasing some resilience. However, Nifty Private banks, Consumer durables, and Financial services faced the steepest declines, contributing significantly to the overall market fall. Stock market today Vaishali Parekh, Vice President of Technical Research at Prabhudas Lilladher, believes the Indian stock market sentiment has weakened as the Nifty 50 index slipped below 25,000 and finished close to its 50-DEMA support of 24,900. The Prabhudas Lilladher expert said the key benchmark index may try to test 24,650 levels if the 50-stock index breaches below 24,900 on a closing basis. Speaking on the outlook of the Nifty 50 today, Vaishali Parekh said, "The Nifty 50 index once again lost control and indicating a lower top formation on the daily chart slipped below the important 25000 zone to slightly weaken the bias and has arrived near the crucial support zone area of the 50EMA level at 24900 which needs to be sustained to maintain the overall trend intact. Also, the base of the ascending channel pattern on the daily chart lies near the 24900 zone, which is at stake, and the much-awaited results of the heavyweight giants – HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank would be released, which would decide the next course of the market. For the bias to improve, the index must decisively move past the 25250 zone." "The Bank Nifty index succumbed to heavy profit booking post the weak result outcome of Axis Bank, which dragged the index to breach below the near-term support of the 56600 zone and has slightly weakened the bias with the next major and crucial support positioned near the 50EMA zone at the 55900 level, which needs to be sustained. On the upside, as mentioned earlier, it would need to breach above the resistance zone of 57600 level and expect fresh higher targets of 58500 and 60000 levels in the coming days," said Parekh. Parekh said that the immediate support for the Nifty 50 index is at 24,800, while the resistance is at 25,200. The Bank Nifty would have a daily range of 55,500 to 57,000. Vaishali Parekh's stock recommendations today Regarding stocks to buy today, Vaishali Parekh recommended these three buy-or-sell stocks: SAIL, Archean Chemical Industries, and Himatsingka Seide. 1] Himatsingka Seide: Buy at ₹154.80, Target ₹166, Stop Loss ₹151; 2] SAIL: Buy at ₹136, Target ₹142, Stop Loss ₹133; and 3] Archean Chemical Industries: Buy at ₹698, Target ₹730, Stop Loss ₹683. Big tension for India as economy shows signs of slowing down... what is the connection with US and China?
Big tension for India as economy shows signs of slowing down... what is the connection with US and China? According to a report by financial services firm Nuvama, the Indian economy is showing signs of slowdown. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has taken several steps to boost growth including interest rates and increased the availability of money in the market. But even after this, the pace of growth has slowed down in many sectors. What is the report saying? The report also said that most of the economic data, which were in double digits a year ago, have now come down to single digits. According to the report, India's high frequency data is now slowing down. Most of them have gone into single digits. This slowdown of the Indian economy is not untouched by the global economic scenario, especially its relations with the US and China. The trade war between the world's two largest economies and their own economic challenges affect India both directly and indirectly. Nuvama's report shows that the Indian economy is showing signs of slowdown. Despite the efforts of RBI, the pace of development has slowed down in many sectors. The pace of taking loans from banks has slowed down. It was earlier 16%, which has now come down to 9%. The pace of GST collection has also slowed down. It was earlier 11%, which has come down to 6.2% in June 2025. Exports have also decreased. Total exports (goods and services) have increased by only 6%. How bad is the situation? The 12-month average of many important indicators is continuously going down. This shows that the economy is weakening. People are buying fewer things. Passenger vehicle (PV) sales have declined. It was 7% last year, which has now come down to 2%. There has been a big decline in the real estate sector as well. Property sales in the top seven cities have come down from 28% to 4%. Salary growth in BSE500 companies has also halved. It was 12% earlier, which has now come down to 6%. Growth rate in eight major sectors is 3%. Whereas a year ago it was 8%. Diesel consumption is 1%. Medium and heavy commercial vehicle (MHCV) sales have declined by 3%. Exports of goods and services are growing only by 6%. Profit of BSE500 companies (excluding oil marketing companies) is now 10%. Whereas a year ago it was 21%. The report says that most high-frequency indicators have now returned to single-digit growth. This is similar to the pre-pandemic years of 2018-19. This means that economic activity is slowing down. While help from the government continues. In such a situation, more steps are needed to promote growth. What's connection with US and China? The ongoing trade war and tariff race between the US and China has increased instability in global trade. If there is a recession in the US and China, it will have a serious impact on the entire world and also on India. The reason is that China is India's largest trading partner and the US is the second largest. Affected by US tariffs, some companies may consider transferring their manufacturing units from China to India. This can benefit India as an alternative supply center. However, this process is slow and complex. It is also important to understand the impact of this economic slowdown on the global economy, especially India's trade relations with the US and China. China's economic slowdown affects the global supply chain. This can also affect some of India's sectors that depend on Chinese components, such as electronics, pharmaceuticals and automobiles.
