Arrest Made After Fan Throws Sex Toy Onto WNBA Court
As the WNBA continues to try to get to the bottom of fans' recent sex toy stunts, an arrest has been made according to the league.
During the fourth quarter of Tuesday night's game between the Golden State Valkyries and Atlanta Dream, someone in the Gateway Center crowd reportedly threw a toy onto the court — which was later followed up by a similar incident a few days later in Chicago.
There's no word as of right now about whether or not that person has been arrested. But the fan involved in throwing the object in Atlanta has reportedly been taken into custody by police.
"The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans," the league said in a statement.
"In line with WNBA Arena Security Standards, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities."
The incidents in question have garnered reaction from across the league including from Sky center Elizabeth Williams who said Friday: "It's super disrespectful. I don't really get the point of it. It's really immature. Whoever is doing it needs to grow up."
It isn't clear what exactly is prompting this recent trend of throwing toys onto WNBA courts but its something the league is seemingly wasting no time addressing.

Two charged amid hunt for suspect in deaths of four people after infant abandoned on stranger's lawn
Two men have been charged in connection with the murders of four people in Tennessee that saw an infant abandoned on a stranger's front lawn. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has charged Tanaka Brown, 29, and Giovonte Thomas, 29, with accessory after the fact to first-degree murder. Deputies from the Dyer County Sheriff's Office responded Monday afternoon following reports that a dark-colored minivan had dropped off the child in a car seat at a random individual's front yard. The seven-month-old girl is now safe. Just hours later, four people were found dead. They have since been identified as James Wilson, 21; Adrianna Williams, 20; Cortney Rose, 38; and Braydon Williams, 15. Wilson and Adrianna Williams were the infant's parents, and Rose was Adrianna and Braydon Williams' mother. On Friday, investigators named 28-year-old Austin Robert Drummond as the suspect in the murders. The two men arrested allegedly 'assisted' Drummond in the killings, though authorities did not specify or elaborate on how. It is also still unclear as to the manner in which the four relatives were killed and how the baby ended up in a car seat on a front lawn roughly 40 miles away.
