Armed police arrest three after 'threats to kill' and 'helicopter endangered'
An estimated 10 armed police officers were seen carrying assault rifles as they swooped into St Martin's Gate in Worcester yesterday (Saturday) after a man was allegedly threatened with a firearm.
Two men, aged 20 and 21, were arrested on the scene on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear, violence and threats to kill.
A third man was also arrested after he was believed to be pointing a laser towards a police helicopter.

He was arrested on suspicion of endangering an aircraft.
What is believed to be an imitation firearm was seized by police from the address off the B4205.
Acting Inspector Sam Mott said: 'Our officers acted quickly when a serious firearms incident was declared in a busy public place yesterday.

Traffic slowed at 5pm around the city centre as armed officers and two reported dog units parked outside St Martin's Gate Car Park during the incident.
Crowds of onlookers lined the street as police attended the scene and other shoppers stopped to take pictures of the police helicopter circling overhead.
One eyewitness on the scene said they saw police take three people in handcuffs after several officers were seen entering an alleyway off St Martin's Gate.
He said: "Three men were arrested and taken out of a property in handcuffs. Two of them were topless.
"There were five police cars and two dog units outside the car park.
'I would estimate around ten armed police officers.'
Another eyewitness added: "There were two officers with machine guns, who were talking to a man sitting on the floor on the roundabout next door to Pure Gym."
All three men remain in custody as enquiries continue.

Four arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences during pro-Palestine protest
Four people were arrested on suspicion of terrorism offences during a pro-Palestine protest in Liverpool city centre on Sunday afternoon, police said. Merseyside Police said that material in support of campaign group Palestine Action was reportedly seen in the possession of a small number of protesters at the regular march for Liverpool Friends of Palestine. More than 100 people were arrested across the country during demonstrations this weekend protesting against the proscription of Palestine Action, which was banned as a terrorist organisation in June. Police said four people from Merseyside – a 74-year-old woman from Kensington, a 65-year-old man from Brighton-le-Sands, a 28-year-old man from Garston and a 72-year-old man from Mossley Hill – were arrested on suspicion of wearing or carrying an article supporting a proscribed organisation. All had been taken to police stations for questioning. Protests were held in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol and Truro on Saturday as part of a campaign co-ordinated by Defend Our Juries. The Metropolitan Police said 55 people were arrested in Parliament Square under Section 13 of the Terrorism Act 2000 for displaying placards in support of Palestine Action. Greater Manchester Police said it had arrested 16 people on Saturday on suspicion of support of a proscribed organisation, adding that they remained in custody for questioning. Eight people were arrested near Truro Cathedral in Cornwall after protesters gathered to show support for Palestine Action. And Avon and Somerset Police said 17 people were arrested during a protest in Bristol. Palestine Action was banned after two Voyager aircraft were damaged at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire on June 20, an incident claimed by the direct action group, which police said caused about £7 million worth of damage. Home Secretary Yvette Cooper announced plans to proscribe Palestine Action three days later, saying that the vandalism of the planes was 'disgraceful' and that the group had a 'long history of unacceptable criminal damage'. 'Thousands of Oasis fans' are said to be impacted by a major closure on the M60 following the tragic death of a man on Sunday (July 20). A man died after being 'hit by a vehicle' near J20, with police, paramedics and fire crews racing to the scene and shutting the motorway in both directions amid investigations. Diversion routes were put in place throughout the evening, as Oasis fans ditched their cars and walked along the carriageway in a bid to make the concert earlier on Sunday afternoon.
