Trump warns Putin he's ‘not done' with him and ‘trusts no one' after issuing ultimatum as Ukraine launches drone blitz

DONALD Trump has warned Vladimir Putin he's 'disappointed but not done' with the Russian tyrant, saying he 'trusts almost no-one.'
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said he still believes a peace deal with Russia is possible, but made clear his patience is wearing thin.

The remarks came just hours after he issued a 50-day ultimatum to Putin to end his assault on Ukraine or face sweeping tariffs and US-supplied long-range missiles that could reach Russian soil.
'I'm disappointed in him, but I'm not done with him. But I'm disappointed in him,' Trump told the BBC on Monday in a 20-minute phone interview.
'We're working it, Gary,' he said when pressed on how he plans to stop the bloodshed.
'We'll have a great conversation. I'll say: 'That's good, I think we're close to getting it done,' and then he'll knock down a building in Kyiv.'
Trump's frustration with Putin boiled over on Monday as he warned of "very severe" 100 per cent secondary tariffs on Russia if it refuses to reach a ceasefire deal within 10 days.
'We're going to be doing very severe tariffs if we don't have a deal in 50 days,' he said during a meeting with Nato chief Mark Rutte at the White House.
In one of his biggest threats yet, Trump has ordered the deployment of an arsenal of "top-of-the-line" weapons to Nato for immediate delivery to Ukraine.
The package includes long-range missiles capable of hitting Moscow, in what military experts say could shift the balance in the war.
It comes as Ukraine launched a large-scale drone blitz across southwestern Russia, damaging homes, commercial sites, and injuring civilians in the Voronezh and Lipetsk regions.
In Voronezh, 12 drones were intercepted, but falling debris injured several people and damaged apartments and suburban houses, regional Governor Alexander Gusev said.
'Unfortunately, there were injuries,' he confirmed on Telegram.
In Lipetsk, a drone crashed in an industrial area of Yelets, injuring one person, according to regional governor Igor Artamonov.
Russia's defence ministry claimed 55 drones were shot down overnight across five regions and the Black Sea, including three in Lipetsk.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed, and Ukraine has not commented on the strikes.
Both Kyiv and Moscow deny targeting civilians, but the war — now in its fourth year — has claimed thousands of civilian lives, most of them Ukrainian.

Ukraine-Russia war latest: Zelensky and Trump consider drone ‘mega-deal' as Putin's troops advance on frontline

Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky are considering a deal that involves Washington buying battlefield-tested Ukrainian drones in exchange for Kyiv purchasing weapons from the US. The Ukrainian president said his latest talks with Mr Trump focused on a deal that would help each country bolster its aerial technology. Ukrainian drones have been able to strike targets as deep as 800miles (1,300km) into Russian territory. 'The people of America need this technology, and you need to have it in your arsenal," Mr Zelensky told the New York Post. The Ukrainian leader said drones were the key tools that have allowed his country to fight off Russia 's invasion for more than three years. "We will be ready to share this experience with America and other European partners," he said. Ukraine was also in talks with Denmark, Norway and Germany, Mr Zelensky said. On the battlefront, Russia said its troops have taken control of three villages in three different parts of the frontline running through Ukraine, a claim Kyiv denies.

Trump news at a glance: Fallout from Epstein case widens as Trump threatens to sue WSJ

Growing pressure on the Trump administration has prompted the US president to direct his attorney general, Pam Bondi, to seek the release of grand jury testimony related to Jeffrey Epstein's sex-trafficking case. The announcement came as Trump seeks to tamp down controversy over a story published in the Wall Street Journal that alleges the US president contributed a sketch of a naked woman to Epstein's 50th birthday album. The president has said the letter is a fake, and that he will sue the publication over the story. The fallout over the Epstein case has also complicated House Republicans' plans to vote on Thursday on legislation demanded by Trump to slash government spending. Here are the key stories at a glance: The president said on Truth Social he had authorized the justice department to seek the public release of the materials, which are under seal, citing 'the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein'. Bondi, who has weathered days of accusations by Trump's far-right supporters that she had mismanaged and failed to deliver on promises to release previously secret documents about the Epstein case, responded to Trump's post with a post of her own that vowed to comply with the directive. The flurry of activity followed the Wall Street Journal report alleging that Trump had contributed the letter – described as 'bawdy' and featuring a drawing of a naked woman's silhouette around a typewritten personal message to Epstein – to an album compiled by Ghislane Maxwell for Epstein's 50th birthday. Trump denied to the Journal that he was the author of the tribute and, hours after the story was published, announced he intended to file a lawsuit against the publication. But before the House can vote on the package, it must be approved by the rules committee, where the Democratic minority has sought to capitalize on a growing furor among Republicans and their supporters over the Trump administration's handling of documents related to the Epstein case. The committee announced it would hold a hearing into the package on Thursday evening. Donald Trump asks for 'all' Epstein grand jury testimony in huge U-turn as he slams 'scam'

Donald Trump has instructed Attorney General Pam Bondi to release produce "any and all" grand jury testimony related to the sex trafficking case against Jeffrey Epstein. Amid a surge of discontent from his supporters, President Donald Trump has directed Attorney General Pam Bondi to disclose "any and all" grand jury evidence pertaining to the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking investigation. ‌ "Based on the ridiculous amount of publicity given to Jeffrey Epstein, I have asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to produce any and all pertinent Grand Jury testimony, subject to court approval. This SCAM perpetrated by the Democrats should end, right now! ," Trump declared on Truth Social Thursday evening. ‌ Bondi promptly replied to the President's command, stating on X: "President Trump-we are ready to move the court tomorrow to unseal the grand jury transcripts." ‌ ‌ It is unclear at this time what information could come out from any unsealed grand jury testimony but Trump has been desperate to put the case of Epstein to bed after the Department of Justice said last week in an unsigned memo that there is no supposed Epstein "client list". The memo also said the DOJ would not be releasing any further evidence in the sex trafficking case against Epstein. Trump on Wednesday, lashed out at many of his supporters who have refused to drop the matter, calling them "weaklings' and saying they are falling for what he is now calling the Epstein "hoax." 'Their new SCAM is what we will forever call the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax, and my PAST supporters have bought into this 'bull——,' hook, line, and sinker,' Trump wrote Wednesday on his Truth Social site, using an expletive in his post. 'They haven't learned their lesson, and probably never will, even after being conned by the Lunatic Left for 8 long years.' 'Let these weaklings continue forward and do the Democrats work, don't even think about talking of our incredible and unprecedented success, because I don't want their support anymore!' he went on. There is no evidence former Democratic officials tampered with the documents or played any role in promoting conspiracies about the files, which members of Trump's administration stoked for years. The schism centers on the administration's handling of documents related to Epstein, who was found dead in his New York jail cell in August 2019, weeks after his arrest on sex trafficking charges. Bondi had previously said upon taking office that the "client list" was "on her desk" which is likely why the anger over the unsigned memo has largely been directed at her.
