Center Grove gets off to hot start, buries Brownsburg for baseball regional title
The win clinches Center Grove's second regional title in the past three years. The Trojans advance to face Franklin next Saturday in the semistate semifinals.
"The offense came out firing today," Center Grove starting pitcher Gannon Grant said. "I felt really comfortable. All I had to do was throw strikes and let my defense work."

Grant allowed three runs over six innings, striking out six and walking one. Brownsburg did a great job getting hard contact on Grant, but the Trojans' defense made plays on the ball, limiting the damage.
Colin McNeer and Ty Jarvis each had an RBI. Cayon Koonce had two hits and two runs scored. Carson Bush, Tristan Yerman and Hudson Stewart all drove in runs in the first inning.
Bulldogs' reliever Ryan Murphy held the Trojans in check until the six innings when Center Grove scored four more runs. The Trojans added four runs in the seven as well.
Yerman led Center four with four hits and seven RBIs. Gannon Grant had three hits and one run scored. Andrew Krupa had four hits and three RBIs.
"That is a fabulous offensive team, so for us to come out and put six (runs) on them, maybe tighten them up a little bit, it was awesome," Center Grove coach Keith Hatfield said. "It really set the tone. Maybe we relaxed a little bit for a few innings, but when you build that kind of a lead it gives you a little leeway to not play well."

USC safety Kamari Ramsey discusses relationship with DC D'Anton Lynn at Big Ten media days
This week marked Big Ten media days. After three days and 16 other schools, it was finally USC's turn to take the podium on Thursday afternoon. Representing the Trojans in Vegas were head coach Lincoln Riley, redshirt junior safety Kamari Ramsey, junior wide receiver Makai Lemon, and sophomore offensive lineman Elijah Paige. Ramsey will be entering his second season with the Trojans. After spending the first two years of his college football career at crosstown rival UCLA, he transferred to USC prior to last season, following defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn. In an interview with 247Sports at media days Thursday, Ramsey discussed his relationship with his DC. "Just being able to play in this defense is a blessing," Ramsey said. "Coach Lynn is a great coach. He's taught me a lot. Going to continue to learn a lot of things from him. I'm just comfortable in this defense now. I mean, I'm not really thinking too much. It's like, I get the call. Alright, here's the tool, and let's go. Let's play football. So I'm not thinking as much." Last season, Ramsey thrived in Lynn's system, putting up 60 total tackles, five passes defended, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception. With another year of working together, the safety will be looking to do even bigger things in 2025.

The Athletic names USC as one of the most valuable college football programs in the US
The USC Trojans have a large following and are one of the more popular teams in college football. USC has had historic players on the same team -- such as Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush -- and a generational talent such as Caleb Williams. The Trojans have one of the most talked about coaches in college football: Lincoln Riley When USC is playing good football, it is great for the entire landscape of college football. In the latest ON3 article presenting The Atheltic's ranking of the top 25 most valuable programs in college football, USC cracks the list at No. 8. Here is writer Nick Kosko's thoughts on USC's ranking: "The Athletic used a bit of a caveat here, saying the Trojans are basically trading in Pac-12 payouts for the Big Ten revenue share. That's a big difference to add onto their brand, despite average to above-average success since their dominance in the mid 2000s. The brand power is strong, as is the LA market and population. Ultimately, the outlet put this college football program in the Alabama, Oklahoma territory in terms of history compared to others." The Trojans were already a big deal in the Pac-12, but switching over to the Big Ten has come with benefits such as more money and attention. More eyes and more attention can also mean higher standards and higher expectations which Lincoln Riley has failed to meet. The Trojans have to adjust to playing in the best conference in college football. Patience is growing thin. This year will hopefully be the year we see Trojan football rise to the occasion. With a good season in the Big Ten, USC's popularity and revenue could skyrocket.
