The drama tells the story of Edward Horniman, the 14th Duke of Halstead, played by Theo James, who inherits a country estate run by mobsters.
A TV insider said: 'Naturally, Chris will play a boxer, and a big part of The Gentlemen is about fighting because it's a sport the gangsters in the show are embroiled in.
'Guy Ritchie has frequently involved boxing in his gangster dramas, most notably Snatch, which had Brad Pitt as a bare-knuckle fighter.
'But the part Chris Eubank Sr likes is the aristocratic element.
'After all, he was once the Lordship of the Manor of Brighton, a title he purchased making his fortune boxing in the Nineties.'
In April, Chris, 35, defeated Conor Benn, 28, in London.
The following month, he was on The Gentlemen set as production began.
Netflix confirmed our exclusive stories that the cast would also include Hugh Bonneville and Maya Jama.

Wrexham's Mark Lewis Jones to narrate Hans Zimmer concert

It is the opening concert of the 2025 Llangollen International Eisteddfod which takes place between July 8 and 13. Mark Lewis Jones, who hails from Rhos, Wrexham, is lending his unmistakable voice to what promises to be an unforgettable concert. Mark's narration will complement the music of Hans Zimmer, brought to life by Cinematic Sinfonia, an outstanding 70-piece orchestra under the baton of the internationally renowned conductor Anthony Gabriele. From the sweeping scores of Gladiator and Interstellar to the haunting themes of Inception, Hans Zimmer's music has defined a generation of cinema and now it will be performed live in Llangollen, with Mark's evocative voice guiding the audience through the emotional and cinematic journey. He is one of Wales' most celebrated actors, known for his powerful performances on both the small and big screen. His film work includes appearances in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, The Good Liar, Phantom of the Open, Munich: The Edge of War, and Rebecca. He previously won Best Actor at BAFTA Cymru for The Passing/Yr Ymadawiad and has been nominated an impressive seven times in the same category. Mark said: 'The Llangollen International Eisteddfod has been part of my life since I was a boy growing up in Rhos. To now play a major role at this incredible celebration of music and culture, just down the road from where it all began for me, is an honour beyond words. Wimbledon briefing: Saturday recap and order of play on a big day for Britain

Attention turns back to British hopes on Sunday, with Sonay Kartal and Cameron Norrie both targeting a quarter-final berth. Here, the PA news agency looks back at Saturdays's action and previews day seven of the Championships. Djokovic's ton Novak Djokovic brought up a big milestone on Centre Court (Mike Egerton/PA) Novak Djokovic brought up a century of Wimbledon wins as he moved smoothly into the fourth round. The 38-year-old eased past fellow Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic 6-3 6-0 6-4 on Centre Court. Djokovic is now just five wins behind Wimbledon's only other male centurion, his great rival Roger Federer on 105 match victories. 'Very historic, it sounds very nice,' he said. 'Wimbledon is a favourite tournament, not just for myself but for most players. Any history I make at my favourite tournament, I'm blessed.' Sinner sails through Jannik Sinner has barely broken a sweat in SW19 (Mike Egerton/PA) Jannik Sinner continued to navigate a serene course through the choppy waters of Wimbledon with another straight-sets win. Pedro Martinez was his latest victim, the Spanish world number 52 – who was carrying a shoulder injury – winning just five games in a 6-1 6-3 6-1 defeat on Centre Court. In reaching the fourth round, the 23-year-old Italian has dropped only 17 games from his three matches. Roger Federer previously held the record for the least games lost in the first three rounds at Wimbledon, 19 in 2004. Brit watch Sonay Kartal is in high spirits ahead of her first appearance in the last 16 of a grand slam (Mike Egerton/PA) The last home singles players standing are the British number threes. Sonay Kartal's best grand slam result has already been secured and she will now look to become the first home female player to reach the last eight since Johanna Konta in 2019 – and only the second since 1984 – when she takes on Russian veteran Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Cameron Norrie has been here before and the 2022 semi-finalist faces Chilean qualifier Nicolas Jarry on Court One – where Norrie enjoys an 8-1 record. Match of the day Carlos Alcaraz has not been at his best so far (John Walton/PA) Carlos Alcaraz has not looked at his imperious best on his way to the last 16. But the defending champion will have to find a higher level on Sunday against the dangerous Russian Andrey Rublev. Rublev has won one of their previous three meetings – on the clay in Madrid last year – and has powered his way through to the fourth round at Wimbledon for the third time. Alcaraz could be in for a tricky evening on Centre Court. Order of play Centre Court (from 1.30pm) Sonay Kartal v Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova Aryna Sabalenka (1) v Elise Mertens (24) Carlos Alcaraz (2) v Andrey Rublev (14) Court One (from 1pm) Taylor Fritz (5) v Jordan Thompson Cameron Norrie v Nicolas Jarry (Q) Amanda Anisimova (13) v Linda Noskova (30) Weather Cloudy changing to light showers by late morning, with a maximum temperature of 24C, according to the Met Office.

Sonay Kartal relaxed in the spotlight as she prepares for Wimbledon's last 16

All eyes are on Kartal as the only British woman to reach the fourth round after Emma Raducanu's brave defeat by top seed Aryna Sabalenka on Friday night. Should she beat Russian veteran Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova on Centre Court on Sunday, the 23-year-old will become the first British woman to reach the last eight since Johanna Konta in 2019. Kartal is not fazed by the attention on her (Mike Egerton/PA) Kartal was back on court on Saturday, playing doubles with her close friend and fellow Briton Jodie Burrage. 'She's definitely got more cameras on her now. I have noticed that,' said Burrage. 'That's expected, you know. 'It was nice to play a doubles match with that atmosphere. It was packed on that court. Unfortunately we couldn't get them going a little bit more because we lost. Kartal, right, laughs with doubles partner Jodie Burrage (Mike Egerton/PA) 'But it was fun. She is taking it like a champion. She loves the limelight.' Kartal rolls her eyes, not for the first time, as her pal gently teases her. But the Brighton pro's run in SW19 has captured the public's imagination, as she found out on Friday evening after her third-round win over Diane Parry. 'I went to the shops and it was a bit tricky,' she said. 'That's something I will have to get used to for the next few weeks. 'Listen, people think I don't like it as my whole life I have gone under the radar a bit, but I don't have an issue with being in the spotlight or not. 'If the spotlight is on you it means you are doing good things. I am taking it as a compliment.' It is not just Kartal's tennis that is the hot topic in south-west London, but also her tattoos. She got her 14th after winning her first match at the French Open last month and is now taking suggestions for ink number 15. Kartal's retro kit has also won admirers (Mike Egerton/PA) 'I've had a few – Jodie's idea of having Centre Court was terrible,' she laughed. 'I won't get that. Someone said I should get the vintage polo top that I've been wearing, I don't know if it is possible. Maybe a fire and ice tattoo. I like that – but it would remind me of Jodie!' Kartal found out she will be making her debut on Centre Court on Sunday just before she played her doubles match, and she has no intention of it being her last time this fortnight. 'It's a huge honour to play on that court. A court that you dream of,' she said. 'The way I am looking at it is that it's a slightly bigger Court One. Warming up on Court One a couple of days ago will help me. I will feel much better walking out on Centre. 'I know I am far from finished yet. I have done one week – got another week to go to the finish line. 'There have been some crazy results. I have been given a good spot in the draw, things have opened up. I am excited and will enjoy every second.'
