Durban City confirm Gavin Hunt as new coach

Former SuperSport head coach Kaitano Tembo, who once worked with Hunt, has been linked with the assistant's position at City while former Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp is reported to be joining the club as a technical director.
Tembo and Middendorp were, however, not announced with Hunt on Wednesday.
Two former Bafana Bafana players, Thulani Hlatshwayo and goalkeeper Darren Keet, have also been linked with joining Hunt at City, but Kadodia is yet to reveal the full complement of his club's squad.

Lara said I should have gone for his record: Mulder
Wiaan Mulder says West Indies batting great Brian Lara told him he should have tried to break his record for the highest individual score in a Test match after the South African all-rounder stopped 34 runs shy of setting a new mark on Monday. Mulder was on 367 when he declared South Africa's innings at lunch on the second day of the second Test against Zimbabwe, turning down the chance to go for Lara's record of 400 not out registered against England in Antigua 21 years ago. Mulder said he felt he had no right to dislodge a legend such as Lara, who set the record against a much stronger opponent. 'Now that things have settled a little bit, I've chatted a bit to Brian Lara,' Mulder told SuperSport. 'He said to me I'm creating my own legacy and I should have gone for it. He said records are there to be broken and he wishes if I'm ever in that position again, I score more than what he had.' Mulder, who has hit three centuries in 21 Tests, said he has no regrets about his decision in Bulawayo. SACD, Northerns in shootout for Growthpoint squash title
The Capital Fruit SA Country Districts and Northerns teams are heading for a straight shootout for squash glory when the 65th edition of the Growthpoint Jarvis-Kaplan interprovincial tournament draws to a conclusion in Gqeberha on Friday. After a week of high-octane action, the men's and women's teams from both provinces remained unbeaten following the penultimate round on Thursday despite a number of tough challenges from their rivals as the week again showcased the best SA squash has to offer. In the women's Kaplan Cup, Northerns A were given some anxious moments against hosts Eastern Province A, who had a real chance of registering a win before young Elzandri Janse van Rensburg produced a display of resilience against the skilful stroke play of Bianca Keeley. The Northerns player, down 2-1, was trailing in the fourth but refused to give up the fight and chased everything she could to snatch back the advantage by taking the game 14-12. It was not over because the deciding fifth game was equally well contested, but finally Janse van Rensburg edged it 11-9 for an important victory. Earlier, EP's Anlen Jarman, with years of experience under her belt, transformed a 2-1 deficit against Jordin Phillips into a 3-2 triumph, keeping her side in the hunt. However, with Northerns 2-1 up in matches, Kim McDonald was solid in a key clash at No 2, holding off EP's Jacqui Ryder for a 3-0 result, which gave Northerns the five points for a win.
