Naidu doesn't keep his promises, claims YSRCP
Speaking at the 'Babu Surety-Mosalu Guarantee' programme organised by YSRCP South coordinator Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar here on Tuesday, he demanded immediate implementation of the Super Six announced by the TDP during the elections campaign.
Raju pointed out that the NDA government could not even implement the Talliki Vandanam scheme to all beneficiaries. He said that it could not give pensions to 60-year-old persons. The alliance parties promised to allot pensions to those aged 50 years, he recalled.
He stated that politics is not about party gains, but about serving the people. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is working with a determination to fight against people's issues and the YSRCP will win in the upcoming election, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, former MLA Vasupalli Ganesh Kumar alleged that Naidu, who has a 40-year history of 'committing fraud', has once again betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh who reposed faith in him.
Ganesh Kumar condemned the remarks by the alliance leaders who are lying about implementing the Super Six. The former MLA called for an extensive campaign at the field level on the welfare schemes that the people were deprived of during NDA's one-year-long rule.
YSRCP leader Kola Guruvulu said that Jagan Mohan Reddy is certain to come to power again.
Earlier, the YSRCP leaders garlanded the YSR statue and paid tributes to YS Rajashekhara Reddy marking his birth anniversary.
Social workers Dr Zaheer Ahmed, state leader Dronamraju Sri Vatsava, women wing district president Pedada Ramana Kumari, and South constituency corporators were present.

VIJAYAWADA: Water Resources Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu on Wednesday commended Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for reviving Andhra Pradesh's economy through effective governance. Speaking at the Jala Harathi event at the Krishna-Godavari confluence in Ibrahimpatnam, where the Godavari water flows into the Krishna via the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme, he contrasted the coalition government's proactive approach with the previous YSRCP regime's neglect. Joined by Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), Jaggayyapet MLA Sreeram Rajagopal Tataiah, Ramanaidu highlighted the Pattiseema scheme's role in diverting Godavari floodwaters — previously wasted at 3,000 TMC annually — to stabilise 13 lakh acres in the Krishna Delta, and support Rayalaseema via Srisailam backwaters. He recalled YSRC chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's mockery of the scheme as 'Ottiseema' during the previous TDP tenure (2014-19), yet it transferred 263 TMC of water during that period, exceeding Srisailam's capacity, and 428 TMC to date, surpassing Nagarjuna Sagar's. With a Rs 1,300 crore investment, it generated a crop value of Rs 50,000 crore, besides safeguarding Rayalaseema from drought, he highlighted. The previous YSRCP regime neglected the irrigation sector, shutting 450 of 1,040 lift irrigation schemes, depriving water to 4 lakh acres. Now, the TDP-led NDA government is repairing all defunct schemes, allocating Rs 700 crore for maintenance to restore water supply to 8 lakh acres, he said.

Govt has taken proactive measures to support mango farmers: Minister
Chittoor: Transport Minister and Chittoor district in-charge Minister Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy said that the government was working with genuine intent to resolve the issues faced by mango farmers and has taken proactive measures to ensure that farmers do not suffer due to price fluctuations arising from a bumper crop. In a statement on Wednesday, the Minister criticised former chief minister and YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for using his visit to Bangarupalem for political gains, claiming the trip was intended to stir unrest rather than sincerely support mango farmers. He noted that while last year the production of Totapuri mangoes stood at only 2.5 lakh metric tonnes, this year it has surged to 6.5 lakh metric tonnes. To shield farmers from distress sales, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has extended full support to mango farmers by announcing a support price. Following the directions of the State government, district administrations are implementing necessary steps. The government is offering a subsidy of Rs 4 per kg for Totapuri mangoes, and efforts are being made to ensure that pulp factories and traders purchase the crop at no less than Rs 8 per kg. 'We have taken steps to ensure that farmers receive at least Rs 12 per kg,' the minister said. He also informed that the State had already written to the Central government last month, seeking Rs 130 crore under the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) as the Centre's share. So far, a total of 3,08,261 metric tonnes of mangoes have been procured by traders and pulp processing units in the districts of Chittoor, Annamayya, and Tirupati. Among these, Chittoor topped the list with 1.65 lakh metric tonnes, followed by 45,000 metric tonnes in Tirupati and 16,400 metric tonnes in Annamayya district. An additional 81,000 metric tonnes of mangoes were sold to other States through ramps and market yards, the Minister added. Purchases have been made from 50,922 farmers so far. To protect the interests of Andhra Pradesh mango growers, the State government has taken steps to restrict the entry of Totapuri mangoes from neighbouring States like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Minister Ramprasad Reddy also stated that the challenges faced by mango pulp industries were being addressed. The State government has already urged the Centre to reduce the GST on mango pulp from 12 percent to 5 percent, he added.
