'Saiyaara se aashiqui ho gayi': Shraddha Kapoor calls Ahaan-Aneet's film 'pure magic'
Taking to her stories on Tuesday, Shraddha posted a video of herself cheering and clapping during a scene featuring lead pair Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. 'Saiyaara se Aashiqui ho gayi hai mujhe,' she wrote, comparing the emotional high of the film to her own 2013 blockbuster.
She also posted a still of an intense moment from the film, Ahaan's character Krrish Kapoor on his knees, staring at a photo of Vaani (played by Aneet). 'Pure cinema, pure drama, pure magic. Uff… bohot time baad itna emotion feel kiya hai… Iss moment ke liye 5 baar dekhungi (Felt so emotional after such a long time. I'd watch it five times just for this moment),' she captioned it. Shraddha Kapoor wrote on Instagram, 'Pure cinema, pure drama, pure magic.'
The reaction comes amid growing comparisons between Saiyaara and Aashiqui 2, both helmed by Mohit Suri and known for their soul-stirring music and emotionally charged romance.
Before Shraddha, Alia Bhatt had also praised Saiyaara, calling it a film 'full of heart, full of soul.' In a note shared online, she wrote, 'Saiyaara isn't just a film. It's a moment. And I'm so glad I got to feel it.' Karan Johar also posted that he was 'blown away' by Ahaan and Aneet's debut, adding that the film's music 'lingers long after the credits roll.'
Saiyaara has emerged as a breakout success story in 2025. The film grossed ₹ 100 crore in just four days, with opening weekend figures touching ₹ 82 crore globally. On Spotify, its title track—composed and sung by indie artists Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami—has soared to No. 7 on the Global Top 50 chart, a rare feat for a debut film's soundtrack.
The reactions online have been equally passionate:
'I am surprised she went to theatre to watch the movie , and not use AI for writing a fake review ,' a user wrote.
'loved how she titled it, chahe PR ho ya kuch, loved it ki jaise hum local me baat krte hn waise hi likha. Minute thing but it connects with people unlike fake English para generated from AI,' another user wrote.
'The eyes scene was my Roman Empire, so beautiful,' the third wrote.
Directed by Mohit Suri and produced by Yash Raj Films, Saiyaara tells the story of Krrish, a struggling musician, and Vaani, an aspiring journalist, whose lives collide in a whirlwind of love, longing, and loss. With powerful performances and a soundtrack that's dominating charts, Saiyaara is fast becoming the most talked-about love story of the year.

Hindi film industry lights up the box office from Summer 2025; 8 films collect over Rs 1100 crore
The good days are finally back in the race, as mid-sized Hindi films have begun to draw audiences on the big screen. The change of tide was always in the offing, but it took a constant flow of releases to result in a shift of momentum. The last 3 months have been the best for the film fraternity in the Post-Covid era with as many as 7 successes, including a mammoth blockbuster like Saiyaara. The 3-month aggregate collection starting from Jaat, leading to Kesari 2, Raid 2, Housefull 5, Sitaare Zameen Par, Maa, Metro In Dino, and Saiyaara are looking to collect in the range of Rs 1150 crore, and leading the show from the front will be Saiyaara, as it is headed to collect in the range of Rs 375 crore to Rs 425 crore in India. Films like Housefull 5, Sitaare Zameen Par, and Raid 2 collected in the vicinity of Rs 165 crore each, whereas Jaat and Kesari 2 scored in the range of Rs 90 crore. Metro In Dino on the other hand is looking to end its run at Rs 52 crore, whereas Maa clocked Rs 35 crore in India. It's more like a success every week starting April 10, as even Bhool Chuk Maaf did some numbers, contributing revenue to the cinema owners. Apart from the aforementioned films, four Hollywood movies also struck gold at the Indian box office in the same period with Final Destination: Bloodlines, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning, F1, and Jurassic World. The four films, along with Superman aggregated about Rs 350 crore nett in India, making it a golden period for the Indian Exhibitors. The audiences are finally recultivating the habit of visiting cinema halls on a week-on-week basis, and the film fraternity too has been consistent with fairly reasonable content for the audience. While the mid-range successes have come in plenty, the Mohit Suri-directed Saiyaara has filled the void of a blockbuster, which was missing in the report-card of the year post Chaavva in February. While big star films doing big numbers is always expected, nothing energises the industry better than a mid-sized film emerging a blockbuster of epic proportions. Ahaan Panday would apologise after extra takes, he is not ‘nakchada or corrupted', says Saiyaara co-star Rajesh Kumar: ‘Aneet Padda, Ahaan will be relevant for next 25-30 years'
Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda are the newest stars in Bollywood. With their first film Saiyaara, they are both making and breaking records at the box office. Even challenging the business of several films led by the OGs Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. In just five days of its release, the Mohit Suri film managed to earn over Rs 132 crore in India with a surprising Rs 24 crore and Rs 25 crore on first Monday and Tuesday. This was also one of the rarest times when a star kid led the film and didn't receive hate or criticism as such (barring a few trolls). Their success has also created curiosity around their personalities, pay, and struggle. Now, Aneet's on-screen father in Saiyaara, Rajesh Kumar, has opened up about his experience of working with these newcomers. In a conversation with Galatta, the actor said, 'I told both Aneet and Ahaan that make me meet your parents. I just went and thanked them for bringing them up so well and that is what is reflecting on screen. They are not corrupted. Having said that, there is a long way for them to go.' Recalling the first day of shoot, Rajesh shared, 'Ahaan was so nervous before his first shot. We shot that together. The ones who have watched the film will remember the scene where he quietly hands me a bag. That was his first shot for the film. But, he did it so well in just the third take. After the shot ended, people clapped for him and then he felt relaxed.' Speaking about Aneet, Rajesh shared, 'When I was first introduced to Aneet, Mohit told me she will solve my Punjabi problem in case I want to stick to that language for that movie as we are Batras in it. And then till the time we were shooting together, she would speak to me in hardcore Punjabi. She asked me to call her 'puttu' in place of beta in the movie. He shared he meets the newcomers as a student as they come with extreme preparation. 'The new generation of actors are extremely groomed. They are pake hue, manjhe hue kalakaar. Barring a few, who might have not prepared as much. But the number of newcomers I have worked with are ready for the market, and Bollywood. I can tell you that these are the faces who are going to be relevant for the coming 25-30 years. Their ability to adapt things is exceptional. And these are the actors who have worked hard for success.' ALSO READ | Ravi Kishan's mother was sure his father would kill him, asked him to run away from home: 'He would beat me everyday… I didn't cry when he died' He then shared how both the actors are extremely grounded despite the success. 'If you look into Aneet's interviews, you will see that she is yet to believe that her film is working wonders. When people realise things late, success doesn't take over them. These people are so grounded that I don't think Aneet or Ahaan will ever be a 'nakchade' (snooty) stars. They will be sought after actors.' He claimed, 'Ahaan has exceptional screen presence and heroism.' Sharing the secret behind Saiyaara becoming a success, Rajesh shared, 'Mohit would wait until he got the shot he had visualised. Everytime, we took a shot for over four times, Ahaan would walk forward and apologise. He didn't have a 'give up' attitude. This film was all about trust. This film was all about YRF believing in Mohit Suri. And Mohit Suri believing in this new couple and the supporting cast. We never thought it would be a blockbuster. ' Sharing his favourite scene from the film, the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai actor shared, ' My most favourite scene is when Ahaan walks in to the concert. I was fida on it. The shot was crazy.'

'Saiyaara' director Mohit Suri on working with Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda amid its success: 'Was discouraged by a lot of senior people saying...'
Talking about the haunting soundtrack of his films that always remain etched in people's minds, the filmmaker said, 'Music was a matter of survival.' read more The success of Saiyaara hasn't come easy for director Mohit Suri. It's his first major success since the 2014 Ek Villain. The filmmaker has finally found his groove back and how. He has birthed two new stars in the form of Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday. And in an exclusive interview with Firstpost, Suri revealed how he was discouraged by a lot of senior people from making this musical blockbuster. Suri revealed, 'When I started off this film, I was quite discouraged by a lot of senior people saying that nobody would be interested in a young love story. Because at that time, larger than life films were being made and I just thought that my voice would be lost there when everyone was shouting. So I just went and tried to make a film which is very different from what others were doing. And to me, the fact that people are appreciating that the difference that it's standing out means a lot.' STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Talking about the haunting soundtrack of his films that always remain etched in people's minds, the filmmaker said, 'Music was a matter of survival. While working with Vishesh Films, we didn't have stars. Everyone was new, right from Emraan Hashmi to my sister to Kunal Kemmu. We realized that we didn't have the promotion budgets like other big star films. We only played one promo when others played five. So we have a song in such a way that that one song stays with you more than the four that have been played by a star cast film.' 'So the survival mechanism somewhere became a way of working, and that's something I've continued over the last 20 years. But when it comes to visuals, I've never really concentrated on them. I've always let the actors act first, and then I place the camera according to that. But I must give credit to the last couple of years because I've been working with Vikas, he's someone who's added to my visual sense,' added the man of the moment.
