Legendary drummer's 'medical emergency' forces band to cancel tour kickoff
The cancellation came just hours before the band was set to take the stage, shocking and disappointing fans.
The iconic Seattle rock group – comprised of vocalist William DuVall, guitarist Jerry Cantrell, bassist Mike Inez, and Kinney – was scheduled to perform at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, marking the start of a multi-city run across the U.S.
But in a statement posted to their Instagram Story shortly before showtime, the band announced that Kinney had suffered 'a non-life-threatening medical emergency' following soundcheck, forcing them to cancel the show at the last minute.
'We unfortunately have to cancel tonight's show,' the band wrote. 'We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Refunds are available at the point of purchase.'
Fans were already arriving at the venue when the announcement went out. 'I literally pulled into the venue when fans told me,' one attendee shared online.

No further details about Kinney's condition have been released, and the band has yet to confirm whether upcoming shows – scheduled for May 10 in New Jersey and May 11 in Ohio – will proceed as planned.
The canceled performance was intended to kick off a summer tour that will culminate in a major appearance on July 5 at Black Sabbath's final live show at Villa Park in Birmingham.
That historic event features a stacked lineup, including Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Anthrax, Billy Corgan, Guns N' Roses, KoRn, Tool, and members of Aerosmith and Soundgarden.
As of now, fans await word on both Kinney's recovery and the future of the remaining tour dates.
Alice in Chains is an iconic rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987 by guitarist Jerry Cantrell and drummer Sean Kinney.
The lineup soon solidified with the addition of bassist Mike Starr (later replaced by Mike Inez) and iconic frontman Layne Staley.

A woman has astonished social media users after sharing her jaw-dropping transformation after getting a $14,000 face lift in Mexico. Michelle Wood, 50, travelled from the US to Guadalajara at the end of May to get plastic surgery as she wanted to 'feel and look more refreshed'. After documenting her journey on TikTok, she has gained 197,000 followers, with people declaring that she now 'looks 25' and saying it's the 'best non-celebrity face lift' they've ever seen. Michelle filmed the first video - which went viral with 21 million views - outside Hospital San Javier right before she went under the knife with her surgeon, Dr Maribel Belmontes. She spent a total of $14,300 (£10,407) on the surgery alone but then shelled out an extra $1,000 (£727) on a recovery home which included food, transport to and from appointments and care. While her before pictures showed several visible wrinkles and other signs of ageing, she was left with a remarkably smooth visage after having the procedure. Speaking about her newly taut and youthful appearance, Michelle said: 'I still don't recognise myself and I think part of that has to do with that I've never looked like this. Even in my 20s I never looked like this because I was very, very obese. 'I'm ecstatic with my results, I love my surgeon I think she did a phenomenal job.' TikTok users were left in a state of disbelief after seeing Michelle's results, with one commenting: 'Ok now this is freaking me out, you look 25!' Another said: 'Holy bananas! This is the best non-celebrity face lift I've ever seen.' A third wrote: 'Omg I thought I was watching a 25 year old talk about her facelift. I went back to see your before videos because I was wondering what you looked like before and I am amazed!!!! You're over 50?!?!!! Wow - amazing.' A fourth asked: 'Do you need a new ID now?? Michelle explained that because she looked years younger than her ID photo, her surgeon had to write a letter to passport control explaining that she had undergone a significant face lift. She also said that anyone wanting to have the same surgery should deactivate their phone's face ID before going under the knife as the system won't recognise you afterwards. Secrets of Brad Pitt's 'facelift' shared by top plastic surgeons
With Brad Pitt's F1 movie thrilling fans, talk of his youthful looks have taken pole position. One person boldly to social media to declare: 'Brad Pitt got a facelift,' while a second added: 'The surgeon who did [his] facelift should be the richest person on Earth.' has spoken to three plastic surgeons to uncover the procedures the actor may have received. Despite the suggestions, each said he likely did not receive a facelift, saying they couldn't see the typical giveaway signs of taut skin, squinting eyes, and scars around the ear. Instead, they suggested it was much more likely that he had received fat transfers or fillers into the mid-face to boost volume and make him appear younger. Dr Michael Bassiri-Tehrani, a facial plastic surgeon in New York City, said: 'This is a subtle touch-up procedure that tends to be more desirable, especially if you are in the public eye. 'This is because it means... a less drastic change in your appearance, which is important, especially for someone who is in movies and whose face is their identity and their brand.' Brad first debuted his incredibly youthful new looks in September last year, which again sparked speculation from fans about a potential facelift. Sources close to the star denied rumors that he had had a facelift, or received any other procedures to The plastic surgeons did not treat or get the chance to examine Brad in person, and instead based their comments on photos and videos of the star online. Dr Barry Weintraub, a top facelift surgeon in New York City who examined two pictures of the star, said: 'Looking straight at these images, it is clear that he is handsome as hell. 'But I do also notice that in the later photo his face is fuller, and that would either be from fat transfers or a variety of fillers that were used. 'It could also be simply because he gained weight, because that can also lead to more fullness appearing in the face.' He added: 'As you get older, you start to lose volume in your own face... so placing volume back into it is a great way to add youth, and I think that is what was done here.' Surgeons said he'd likely received the filler or fat transfers into the cheeks and jawline to add volume to these areas. They said that overall it was more likely this was fat, typically taken from the abdomen or thighs, because this is longer lasting and can trigger a more natural result. Many celebrities also opt for blepharoplasties, a procedure to remove skin above the eyes to make someone appear more youthful. But all three surgeons said Brad had avoided this. Dr Gary Linkov, a plastic surgeon also in New York City, said: 'I still don't see great proof that he's had a facelift. His hairline area looks ok to me, and I don't see any clear evidence for me. 'But it is possible that he might have had a fat transfer or filler to the mid-face. 'I mentioned a few years ago that he may have had that procedure, so it's definitely possible that he did something like that again.' Dr Adam Scheiner, a cosmetic surgeon in Florida and author of 2017 book The True Definition Of Beauty, said Brad may appear so youthful because of how someone views a person's face. 'When we look at a person's face, our brains focus on the eye and mouth region first and the skin and facial contours area second. 'So it tends to be much more dramatic when someone has the eyes or mouth worked on, whereas if it's on other areas it tends to be much more subtle - like the work we see here.' Brad has not commented on any recent work he may have, but he has repeatedly spoken about aging - saying after he turned 60 years old that he was starting to feel his own mortality. Surgeons have previously suggested that Brad has been receiving fillers and Botox during the years to maintain his youthful appearance but this has never been confirmed. Surgeons suggested too that Brad may be maintaining his skin using moisturizers, micro-needling, and other procedures.

Ricki Lake, 56, reveals how long ago she REALLY had her facelift after going public with procedure
Ricki Lake celebrated the one-year anniversary of her facelift on Instagram this week, after going public with the procedure last month. The 56-year-old talk-show icon has embarked on a long process of revamping her appearance, slimming down and arriving at her 130lb goal by January. However the process of losing weight left her with 'extra skin that hung from below my chin,' so in July 2024 she went under the knife to have it tightened. She openly discussed the procedure for the first time on TV this June, saying she was 'fully transparent' and did not 'want there to be any stigma.' Now she has fired up her Instagram to share a suite of photos documenting the process, including a side-by-side before-and-after comparison. 'One year ago today I did a thing,' she wrote Friday. 'Yes, today July 18th, is the one year anniversary of my deep plane lower face and neck lift, plus a mild co2 laser.' She showered praise on her Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Allen Foulad, saying she 'was in the best of hands' and calling him 'a true master in his field.' Ricki revealed: 'After a dear friend had the most incredible experience with Dr, Foulad, I made the decision to follow in her footsteps.' The Hairspray actress explained the thinking that led to the surgery, saying: 'I had lost 40 lbs and did not like the extra skin that hung from below my chin. It was never going to tighten up on its own. Not at 55.'
