Dog the Bounty Hunter's step-grandson dies, allegedly shot by father
Reality TV star Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman and his family are mourning the recent loss of one of their own.
Anthony, the reality TV star's teenage step-grandson died on Saturday evening after he was allegedly accidentally shot by his father, Gregory Zecca — Chapman's stepson — in Naples, Fla., The Times has confirmed. He was 13.
A spokesperson for the Collier County Sheriff's Office told The Times on Monday that it is investigating the alleged shooting. Officers received a call about a shooting incident at an apartment on Sumter Grove Way in southern Florida at around 8.08pm, the spokesperson said, adding "this was an isolated incident." No arrest has been made in connection to the incident, People reported.
According to the incident report reviewed by The Times on Monday, parts of it redacted, the responding officer heard screaming on the dispatch call. First responders arrived at the apartment and the victim — whose name was not revealed — was pronounced dead before 8.30pm.
In a statement shared to TMZ, which first reported on the alleged shooting, Chapman and his wife, Francie Chapman, confirmed Anthony's death.
"We are grieving as a family over this incomprehensible tragic accident and we grieve the loss of our beloved grandson, Anthony," the statement said. The couple also requested privacy as they grieved their loved one.
The Times did not hear back immediately from the 72-year-old reality star or his wife on Monday.
Chapman, best known for his long-running A&E reality TV show Dog The Bounty Hunter , married Francie Chapman (née Frane) two years after wife Beth Chapman died in 2021 following a battle with cancer.

E-hailing firms Maxim, inDrive granted 3-month probation

(inDrive pic) PETALING JAYA : Russian-founded e-hailing firms inDrive and Maxim have been placed under a three-month probation period after successfully appealing the revocation of their operating licences. The Land Public Transport Agency (Apad) said the two companies were ordered to take corrective measures to continue operating, particularly regarding e-hailing vehicle permits (EVPs). 'To meet this condition, Maxim and inDrive have improved their registration system to ensure all of their drivers have valid EVPs before they can start operating. 'Both companies have also given Apad 'view only' access to their data to make it easier to cross-check their data on EVPs,' it said in a statement. Apad said it conducted a random check on their drivers on July 11 and found that everything was in compliance. The agency and the road transport department had found the improvements made by the companies satisfactory, and agreed to place Maxim and inDrive under a three-month monitoring period, effective tomorrow. 'To ensure the continuous commitment of both operators, their representatives are required to turn up at the Apad headquarters every month throughout the monitoring period. 'These sessions are aimed at allowing Apad to conduct real-time monitoring, with random checks conducted on drivers via the inDrive and Maxim applications,' it said. In May, both firms were ordered to halt operations from July 24 after failing to comply with Apad's regulations introduced in 2019. In September 2022, the road transport department raided inDrive's Malaysian office and discovered that the firm was operating with an expired licence. In 2023, Maxim was also raided by Apad officers for allowing vehicles to operate without a valid permit.

GOF cripples major scrap, e-waste ring in Johor raid

(Bernama pic) PETALING JAYA : The 5th Battalion of the General Operations Force (GOF) crippled a syndicate involved in scrap and e-waste processing after it seized scrap, e-waste and equipment worth more than RM190 million in a raid in Segamat, Johor. Commanding officer Salehin Sulaiman said the operation resulted in the arrests of 56 individuals, including two Malaysians – a lorry driver and a female clerk – employed at the premises. The syndicate is believed to have been active for about a year. He said the joint operation was conducted on June 16 with the environment and immigration departments and the Segamat Municipal Council. 'The seized items include about 5,920 tonnes of e-waste, 9.45 tonnes of various plastics, 1,031 tonnes of metal, 23 forklifts, 42 machines and a trailer lorry, with the total seizure amounting to RM190,715,900. 'These arrests and seizures have successfully crippled a syndicate network involved in scrap and e-waste processing, particularly in Segamat,' Bernama reported him as saying. Separately, the battalion detained 25 undocumented migrants in a raid at an oil palm plantation in Ladang Tumbuk, Selangor, at about 6.30am on April 14. Salehin said those arrested, including nine women, failed to produce valid identification documents and are believed to have just arrived in the country by an unregulated sea route. 'All of them were handed over to Kuala Langat police for further action under the Immigration Act 1959/63,' he said.
