EDAN Highlights Commitment to Global Health at GHF 2025 Satellite Symposium, a Side Event of the World Health Assembly
Representing EDAN, Co-Founder Mr. Xicheng Xie delivered a keynote sharing the company's experience in delivering accessible innovation to underserved communities. He shared detailed of an ongoing initiative using EDAN's Nano Series handheld diagnostic ultrasound system to support basic prenatal care in resource-limited environments. The project focuses on equipping primary healthcare workers with tools for early screening and timely referral for at-risk pregnancies. He also noted other impactful technologies, including palm-sized fetal dopplers, EDAN's IQ intelligent algorithm, and its smart ECG web platform — each designed to bridge infrastructure gaps and reduce reliance on scarce medical personnel.
With a long-standing presence across both high-end and resource-limited markets, EDAN has built a truly global footprint – from Europe to Africa. To strengthen local engagement and ensure more responsive service, it has established 22 subsidiaries worldwide. This localized support, combined with a commitment to frontline feedback, drives continuous product improvement and meaningful impact.
EDAN is also actively involved in a range of meaningful projects across LMICs, working alongside NGOs, public health agencies, and development partners. These include maternal health and women's care initiatives in South Africa, portable diagnostic deployments in West Africa, and ultrasound screening programs in Latin America. Each year, nearly 1,000 ultrasound devices are deployed globally through NGO-led programs. These partnerships not only expand access to essential care but also help build local capacity through training and support.

YELLOWKNIFE, NT, July 21, 2025 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Julie Dabrusin, Minister of Environment and Climate Change, and Danny Yakeleya, Chair of the Our Land for the Future Trust, signed a historic grant agreement to launch NWT: Our Land for the Future, one of the largest Indigenous-led land conservation initiatives in the world. Backed by $375 million in new investments, including $300 million from Canada and $75 million from philanthropic partners, NWT: Our Land for the Future will support Indigenous-led stewardship and conservation across some of the world's most intact boreal and tundra ecosystems while creating hundreds of good, culturally meaningful jobs across the territory. Indigenous partners to NWT: Our Land for the Future aim to conserve and steward up to 380,000 square kilometres of land and inland water, which is nearly 30% of the territory, including the protection and conservation of over 2% of Canada in new terrestrial and freshwater areas. This represents a space almost seven times the size of Nova Scotia. Key activities and initiatives that could receive funding include: Indigenous Guardians, with support for operations, training, recruitment, and career development of Guardians who monitor ecological health, protect cultural sites, and safeguard sensitive areas and species. Establishing and stewarding Protected Areas, Conserved Areas, and Indigenous Protected and Conserved Areas (IPCAs), both new and existing. Climate action, including research, impact assessments, adaptation strategies, and mitigation activities related to climate change. Together, these four initiatives could protect up to one million square kilometres, a significant contribution to Canada's conservation goals. Supporting community-led responses to the illegal toxic drug and overdose crisis in Atlantic Canada Français
Funding will prioritize urgent needs at community level FREDERICTON, NB, July 21, 2025 /CNW/ - Today, the Honourable Marjorie Michel, Minister of Health, announced $2.8 million in funding from the Emergency Treatment Fund (ETF) to support four projects in Atlantic. These investments will directly support communities in Fredericton and Miramichi, New Brunswick, in Amherst, Nova Scotia, and in St. John's, Newfoundland. The ETF is part of the Government of Canada's efforts to help communities rapidly respond to emerging, critical needs related to the overdose crisis faced by municipalities and First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities. It provides support for a wide range of urgent interventions to bolster local capacity to help the most affected populations. Minister Michel highlighted a mobile outreach project led by the City of Fredericton and the John Howard Society.
