DHL Express completes the modernization
14 A330 freighters in total have been added to the regional network, retiring the previous A300-600F fleet

SINGAPORE - Media OutReach Newswire - 27 June 2025 - DHL Express has marked a significant milestone in its Asia Pacific network operations with the completion of its re-fleeting program. With the arrival of its 14th A330 freighter and the retirement of its last A300-600 freighter, DHL Express will now have a newer and modern fleet of A330 freighters operated and maintained by its strategic partner in the region, Air Hong Kong.
Operated on behalf of DHL Express by Air Hong Kong, the A300-600F has served DHL Express's Asia Pacific network for the past two decades. It has played a crucial role in providing reliable intercontinental delivery services and contributed to consolidating Hong Kong's position as an international aviation hub. This fleet has successfully transported close to three million tons of express cargo over the years.

Compared with the A300-600F, the newer A330F offers greater resilience and reliability for DHL Express's aviation network as it is more fuel efficient, has a longer range of 7,400 kilometers and has 25 percent more payload capacity. With a flexible cargo loading system, larger cargo enhanced floor panel and wide-body fuselage, the A330F can accommodate a variety of pallet sizes and containers, making it more adaptable than the A300F to operate in and cater to different markets.

GLC VP wins RM1.3mil payout over unlawful dismissal
KUALA LUMPUR: The Industrial Court has ordered Malaysian Bioeconomy Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (Bioeconomy Corp) to pay RM1.31 million in compensation to its former vice-president of corporate and finance, after the High Court ruled his dismissal was without just cause. Syed Agil Syed Hashim, who served with the company from February 2006 to September 2020, was informed that his contract would not be renewed. It was argued his employment was on a fixed-term basis, and the Industrial Court initially agreed in a 2023 ruling. However, in January this year, the High Court overturned that decision, finding that Syed Agil's employment had been dismissed without just cause or excuse. "By virtue of this finding, it necessarily follows that the Claimant's employment was not on a fixed-term basis but was permanent in nature," The court ordered the case to be sent back to the Industrial Court solely for assessment of compensation. Industrial Court chairman Pravin Kaur Jessy awarded Syed Agil RM554,400 in compensation in lieu of reinstatement and RM760,320 in backwages, after a 20 per cent deduction for post-dismissal earnings. Syed Agil was earning RM39,600 a month at the time of his dismissal. He remained unemployed for six months before joining the Perak State Development Corporation, where he became group chief executive officer. The company was also ordered to make the necessary statutory deductions and EPF contributions, and to pay the balance within 30 days. Nur Zur'Ain Mat Ramlee represented the claimant, while Abdul Aziz Hamzah appeared for the company.

Over RM1 million in MRP, Unifor grants disbursed for Opar's development

According to a report by the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the cheques were officially handed over by Opar assemblyman Billy Sujang to representatives of the respective recipient organisations. The report stated that the MRP grants disbursed totalled RM405,600, benefitting associations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and KEMAS kindergartens within the Mas Gading parliamentary area. In addition, Billy also presented Unifor grants amounting RM720,000 to five religious institutions of various denominations operating within the Opar state constituency. The recipients of the Unifor grants included Persatuan Penganut Apostolik Kuching, Kampung Sebako; St Jacob's Chapel, Kampung Temaga Dayak; St George's Church, Kampung Bokah; St Jude's Church, Kampung Stom Muda; and Rumah Adat Kampung Semapu. 'The handing over of these grants is part of the state government's ongoing efforts to ensure that community development and public facilities are implemented in a comprehensive and inclusive manner, regardless of religious or ethnic background,' Billy emphasised.
