India's highest-paid villain earns ₹100 cr from THIS film, no releases in last 3 years, not Fahadh or Vijay Sethupathi
Gone are the days when only the hero or heroine could pull audiences to theatres. Today, a well-crafted negative role can be just as captivating and just as profitable, earning the same as with top stars. When it comes to big-ticket films, villains are bringing their A-game, driving box office numbers. In fact, India's highest-paid antagonist is such a powerful force that his name alone can determine the fate of a film pan-India. The highest-paid villain in the Indian film industry is neither Fahadh Faasil nor Vijay Sethupathi, nor even Kamal Haasan. India's highest-paid villain is actor Yash of KGF fame. The Kannada superstar has officially become the highest-paid villain in Indian cinema history, as per multiple reports. The actor is set to play Ravana in Nitesh Tiwari's ambitious adaptation of Ramayana. He also serves as co-producer of the project. In the film, Yash will be clashing with actor Ranbir Kapoor, aka Lord Ram. According to reports, Yash is charging ₹ 50 crore as his fees for the film, excluding his share in distribution profits. Ramayana will be a two-part film, the first installment releasing in 2026. If reports are true, Yash will be paid a whopping ₹ 100 crore for both installments. Previously, a report claimed that Yash's total compensation, including his acting fee and distribution profits, amounts to ₹ 200 crore. If true, this figure would surpass even the salary of the film's hero, Ranbir Kapoor. However, in all conditions, Yash overtakes the salaries of popular villains in the recent big films. Kamal Haasan previously held the record for highest-paid antagonist for his cameo in Kalki 2898 AD, earning somewhere between ₹ 25–40 crore. On the other hand, Vijay Sethupathi reportedly charged ₹ 21 crore for his negative role in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan. It is believed that the blockbuster Pushpa 2 antagonist Fahadh Faasil earned ₹ 8 crore. Previously, the makers of Ramayana had dropped the first look from the film. It also featured a glimpse of Yash as Ravana. A report by Telly Chakkar claimed that Yash will have a screen time of 15 minutes in Ramayana Part 1. He is said to have a longer presence in the second installment of the film.

War 2: Jr NTR Entry Scene Details Out, Actor To Feature In Dance Number With Hrithik Roshan
Last Updated: Producer Naga Vamsi confirms Jr NTR plays a full-length role in War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan. The action film hits screens on August 14, 2025. Ever since Jr NTR was confirmed to star in War 2, excitement around his role in Yash Raj Films' expanding spy universe has been sky-high. But as buzz around the teaser grew, so did speculation — especially about how much screen time the RRR star would actually get. Now, producer Naga Vamsi has put those rumours to rest. Speaking with Gulte Pro, Vamsi denied reports that Jr NTR would appear for just a portion of the film. 'NTR being there for 30-40 minutes is not true," he said. 'Both of them will be there throughout the film. After the first 15 minutes, Tarak anna will enter, and both of them will dance to a song. It is a commercially packed film." Backing his words with action, Vamsi's Sitara Entertainments has reportedly picked up the Telugu distribution rights for War 2 at a massive Rs 80 crore. On his decision, he added, 'I bought it because all these commercial elements will be there. How everything will come together, even I will watch it with the audience in the morning show. Based on my faith in NTR's judgement, I bought the film." Meanwhile, War 2 has officially wrapped its shoot. The film, directed by Ayan Mukerji, stars Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR in key roles, with Kiara Advani also part of the main cast. Shot across five countries, the movie features six large-scale action set pieces and is set to release in theatres on August 14, 2025, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. The movie is the sequel to the 2019 action thriller, War and marks the return of Hrithik as Agent Kabir. This time, he is fighting another Indian agent, Vikram (played by Jr NTR), who is the new addition to the franchise. With just a month left for its release, the makers are now all set to unveil the film's official trailer. According to the insiders close to the project, Ayan and YRF have finalised the trailer for this action-packed thriller and plan to release it by mid-next week. 'YRF is lauded for designing trailers that evoke enthusiasm among viewers, and the cut of War 2 is locked with the purpose of generating buzz and intrigue to new heights. The theatrical trailer showcases three leads—Hrithik Roshan, NTR, and Kiara Advani—at their finest, and the team is confident that with an approximately 3-minute cut, it will leave an impression," said a source to Pinkvilla. view comments First Published: July 16, 2025, 09:24 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. Uproar over ‘incomplete work, delayed pay' for PMAY houses
Raipur: Opposition Congress raised the issue of completion of work and payments under PM Awas Yojana and MNREGA in the Assembly. Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant questioned the state's handling of PM housing benefits, especially in cases where houses were allegedly marked complete despite missing toilets. He asked if the completion is considered 'completed' after payments are done for construction of house, MNREGA work and building of toilets or is it considered 'completed' without these provisions. Deputy CM Vijay Sharma defended by attributing past delays to the previous govt and claimed that under CM Vishnu Deo Sai, all pending payments had been cleared right from year 2011. In further exchanges, Mahant raised concerns about fund delays in MNREGA, citing specific districts like Jashpur and Bijapur. Sharma responded that all labour payments were made by June 30, but agreed to verify any discrepancies if provided with documentation, mainly in interior regions of Bijapur, where bank accounts might not be functional. Mahant reacted stating that he has got complaints about completed houses under PMAY, the payments for which were stalled by claiming they were incomplete and they were trying to "fool" the govt. Sharma replied that Mahant's comment was very hurtful to him and he's ready with all the documents that show how Congress delayed the PMAY construction despite approval from the Centre. This was followed by noisy scenes as opposition members audibly objected to Sharma's reply. Later, LoP Mahant called for a CBI probe into the handling of PMAY in the state.
