Janet Caperna flees to Switzerland amid vile online hate campaign
The 35-year-old, one of Bravo's most controversial stars, has locked down her social media accounts after the abuse.
Janet, the main antagonist on The Valley, decamped this week to the European country with hubby Jason and son Cameron to escape the abuse.
In screenshots provided to DailyMail.com, online trolls are seen attacking Janet and her family in a series of vile messages.
'I hope you rot like you deserve,' wrote one. 'I hope your child grows up absolutely hating you.'
Another wrote: 'I know where you live. I've seen where your son goes when you're not with him.'
When contacted by DailyMail.com for comment, Janet said she was speaking out about the abuse to highlight how serious online trolling has become.
'I'm sick of threats and slurs being normalized because "we signed up for this when we joined reality TV."
'That's sick and not normal and I'm not ever going to pretend it's normal or acceptable to message strangers threats and slurs,' she said.
'It's sad to me that people go this far, it's definitely the worst part about this "job,"' she continued.
'I'm learning how to put boundaries on social media in place and learning as I go. I support healthy dialogue around reality TV and think some of the best conversations about modern culture stem from shows like ours.
'I'm far from perfect, and people are seeing the best and worst of all of us when we put our lives in front of cameras. My hope is people can have fun conversations about reality TV without going as far as some have recently.'
The former celebrity assistant also went into detail about some of the vile threats she's received on the latest episode of her podcast, This Side of the Hill.
'I'm gonna read a couple and they're really just not nice,' her podcast co-host Jared Lipscomb said.
Hateful: Another fan of the show wished death on Janet and told her to die and 'drown in a sewer'
'I hope you die a slow and painful death, you are so ugly. Are you actually a man? You are evil and I wish death upon you, you piece of s**t,' read one.
Another message said, 'It's a shame your son is still breathing you little [n-word] lover.'
Janet then explained that one of her most dedicated trolls had looked up the names of her family members online and then sent her hateful messages about them.
'This isn't constructive criticism,' Janet said. 'I understand that I put my life out there and I'm gonna get comments, good and bad, this isn't that,' she said.
Both Janet and Jared also said that they were shocked to see that the majority of the hateful comments were coming from seemingly 'normal and sweet' women.
One woman that threatened Janet was a successful family photographer, while another woman had photos of herself being a mom to her young son.
'It makes me wonder, how many people throughout my day am I interacting with that are like this behind closed doors?' she asked.
'Like, when I'm checking out at the grocery store, is that person messaging someone that they don't like hate like this?'
Janet also alluded to one of her co-stars, who she referred to as a former friend, interacting with negative comments about her online.
'I had a former friend who responded to someone's comment questioning the safety of my child, questioning whether I had a drinking problem,' she said.
'This former friend decided to respond with a laughing, jokey emoji and I'm so disappointed in that,' she continued.
She appeared to be referring to Doute, who has been interacting with negative comments about Janet on Instagram and Threads.
Meanwhile, The Valley is nearing the end of its explosive second season and preparing to start filming season three soon.
On social media, there have been calls from viewers to fire both Janet and longtime villain Jax Taylor.
While Janet's ongoing feuds with Kristen Doute, Nia Sanchez and Danny Booko have rubbed viewers the wrong way, Jax has disturbed the fanbase through his actions towards estranged wife Brittany Cartwright.
In one episode, it was revealed that Jax had been spying on Brittany through security cameras in her home.
He also send her dozens of 'rage texts' from rehab where he was being treated for mental health issues and a cocaine addiction.
While no casting decisions have been made, DailyMail.com understands that production are looking to expand the cast rather than fire people.
'Fans on social media are always calling for controversial people to be fired and it's usually to the detriment of the show,' one insider revealed.
'The network is worried that if they get rid of all the villains then the show will suffer, so they're leaning towards expanding the cast rather than reducing it,' they continued.
'The current cast have all submitted their friends to production and interviews are well underway.
'A bigger friend group will be more dynamic and nobody is going to have to film with people that they don't want to be around,' they added.
The Valley is currently airing on Bravo and available to stream on Peacock.

Kendall Jenner poses with $60K Hermes handbag on her head after attending 'tone deaf' Bezos wedding
Kendall Jenner was spotted playing around with friends after her 'tone deaf' appearance at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sànchez's wedding in Venice. While vacationing with friends in Saint-Tropez located in the south of France, the supermodel was seen taking a shot while balancing a $60,000 handbag on her head. Her limited edition Hermès Kelly Doll bag is worth approximately $50,000 or $60,000, according to Sotheby's. She was joined by her younger sister Kylie Jenner, 27, as they partied at the exclusive Loulou's beach club on Pampelonne Beach right before jumping into the ocean in their party dresses. This comes shortly after she and the rest of her family attended the Bezos-Sànchez wedding, facing backlash and fueling the polemics surrounding the billionaire's Venetian nuptials. The model, 29, hid a grimace as her friends recorded her taking the shot of hard liquor as they screamed in excitement, as seen in model Devon Lee Carlson's Instagram post on Saturday. Carlson's post also included a snapshot of her and Kendall posing with large Chloé bags after going shopping together in luxury designer stores. In the photo, which Kendall reposted on her Instagram Story, she wore a red minidress paired with matching flip flops while holding hands with Carlson, who wore a complementing look. The Wildflower Cases founder also shared a photo of Kendall alongside their friends after they enjoyed an impromptu swim after doing shots at the day club. Her day of partying comes amid her lavish Euro summer with her sister Kylie. On the same day, as Kendall was seen wearing the same dress, the bikini-clad sisters were pictured enjoying an impromptu dip in the cooling ocean. Kendall showed off her model figure in a black bikini which she wore with a sheer polka dot dress. They were joined by a group of pals as they all frolicked in the sea after some afternoon cocktails at the club. Carlson's post also included a snapshot of her and Kendall posing with large Chloé bags after going shopping together in luxury designer stores. In the photo, which Kendall reposted on her Instagram Story, she wore a red minidress paired with matching flip flops while holding hands with Carlson, who wore a complementing look Right before heading to France, Kendall was in Italy with her sisters and their mom Kris Jenner for the star-studded wedding of billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez. After the nuptials, she was also on auntie duty as she joined Kylie with her kids Stormi and Aire for a boat ride through Venice's historic canals last weekend. Described as the 'wedding of a century,' the 61-year-old Amazon founder and the former journalist, 55, exchanged vows in front of nearly 200 VIPs on San Giorgio Maggiore island in Venice, Italy. The Bezos wedding began last Thursday with the first of three days of parties in Venice – but impeccable sources revealed days before that the Amazon founder and journalist-turned-philanthropist Lauren Sanchez were already married. A source closely connected to the organization of the week's events told 'They have been married for at least a month, more than a month. 'The marriage is fully legal and took place in America under American law.' The source adds: 'When they were planning the wedding, they were clear about the fact that they were already secretly married There is no application for a wedding license from the couple because it was not required. 'Whatever happens at the wedding on Friday, it will not be a wedding. Under Italian law, it will not be a wedding celebration, any vows said or rings exchanged will have no legal meaning.' The source added that Bezos had personally confirmed that he and Sanchez – who met when both were married to other people – are already legally married, and that they had also signed a pre-nuptial agreement to protect his $244 billion (£177 billion) fortune.

Six hot new lash treatments for summer 2025
When it comes to our lashes we've come a long way from just swiping on a bit of mascara. In recent years the fake look has become big business — although, happily, the current trend is more about low-maintenance effortlessness. On TikTok the masses go mad for lash growth serums: Glow For It made six figures in just 12 hours from a live shopping stream in April, while according to UKLash one of its lash serums is sold every 20 seconds globally. Lash lifts and extensions are also on the rise. The beauty app Secret Spa reports 60 per cent faster growth in lash treatments than any other category, including mani-pedis and waxing, while the UK trade body the Guild of Beauty Therapists says lash treatments are now the most popular salon services, with roughly 129,000 carried out a week. Lash extensions have come a long way from the 2010s (think Russian mink lashes, as seen on the cast of Geordie Shore). 'Lash technology and artistry have evolved. These days they're soft, subtle and undetectable, thanks to ultra-fine fibres that mimic the texture and movement of natural lashes,' says Asma Docrat, a celebrity lash artist whose clients include Mandy Moore and Lily Allen. 'By fully customising the length, curl, colour and weight of your lash extensions, they can look like your own, but on a really good day.' Whatever your vibe, there's a lash look for that. • Read more beauty product reviews and advice from our experts Slightly bolder and more glamorous, volume lashes will give you a seriously impactful flutter. 'Multiple lashes, or a cluster, are applied per natural lash to create more volume,' Docrat says. They look fluffier and fuller, but if you can't quite commit to drama, you can also get hybrid lashes. 'These are a mix of classic and volume for a more wispy effect,' she says. 'For the best results — and this goes for any type of lash extension — avoid caffeine before your appointment as it can make your eyes flutter, making precision work trickier.' Expect to pay £80-150 for a full set, and £60-80 for infills, which are needed every two to three weeks, depending on how well you take care of them. 'Avoid oil-based skincare,' Docrat says. 'Use lash-safe foaming cleansers to remove make-up around the eyes, and never use cotton wool pads.' Gently combing them through daily with a clean spoolie and sleeping on a silk pillowcase are also on her list of do's. • The best luxury lash serums Lynk-Gel lashes are the longest-lasting extensions, with only a handful of lash artists in the UK trained and certified by the company behind the process, Illumino. 'This clever new technique uses a safe, focused LED light to instantly 'cure' a gel-based adhesive, creating a bond between the extension and your natural lash that's as strong as it is flexible,' says Camilla Kirk-Reynolds, the A-list lash artist whose clientele include Naomi Campbell and Angelina Jolie. According to Kirk-Reynolds they can last for up to eight weeks (that explains the heftier price tag, usually sitting somewhere between £300 and £600 for a full set), plus there's no downtime — so you can jump in the shower or pool or wash your face straight away without a second thought. As with many beauty innovations, the Koreans are one step ahead. 'Instead of glueing lashes on to a curling shield [as for a traditional lash lift], the Korean method uses a healthier, lash-softening cysteamine-based paste,' explains Haya Alhoush, a British-based Korean lash lift educator. 'A two-step shield system creates the most natural and smooth curl. First, a flat shield softens the lashes, then a curved one perfects and sets the curl.' Lasting about eight weeks, it makes mascara redundant. The no-mascara make-up trend has been making the rounds, thanks to the cool girls of Instagram (hello, Hailey Bieber). Coloured lashes such as brown extensions add subtle length and volume without the starkness of black. 'They're softer, work for most skin tones and are undetectable but still make you look polished,' Docrat says. The barefaced aesthetic usually goes hand in hand with a great skincare routine, but Docrat recommends skipping eye creams, which can migrate to the lash line and affect your faux lashes' longevity. Like classic lashes, these cost anywhere between £100 and £200 for a full set, and should last up to three weeks. • This article contains affiliate links that can earn us revenue The trendy lot on TikTok and Instagram are getting 'anime lashes' that take their cue from manga characters. Think spiky, doll-like lashes that make eyes appear brighter and doe-eyed. 'Anime lashes use a variety of length and dimensions, with spaced-out, longer individual spikes that stand out among shorter, wispier lashes,' says the LA-based lash artist Alanah Sahaba, who counts Megan Thee Stallion as a client. 'To balance the look, you can also add bottom lashes, which makes eyes look wider.' A word of warning, though: 'You might be in the chair for up to three hours, as anime lashes are more intricate and detailed, so have your favourite podcast downloaded!' A full custom set will typically set you back anywhere from £100 to £200, and they should last three to four weeks before needing infills or removal. A slick of mascara is like a shot of espresso for the face: it instantly brightens and makes your make-up look, well, better. Imagine that — glossy, defined and sleek lashes — but without the effort of actually applying mascara every morning. 'Unlike classic lashes, which are designed to be softer and mimic individual natural hairs, wet-look lashes have a more dramatic, glossy finish and are usually spiked to perfectly mimic the look of freshly applied mascara,' Docrat says. The technique involves applying closed fans of multiple extensions to each natural lash. This creates those distinct, slightly clumped, high-shine spikes that give the illusion of lashes that are perpetually hydrated and freshly coated. As for volume lashes, expect to be in the chair for up to two hours. • Hello dollface: the 'glass skin' trend that's everywhere £38, looking sparse and thin and feeling brittle? This strengthening and lengthening serum will nourish lashes between treatments, but it's also great for anyone struggling with eyelash loss. It's so good, in fact, that users claim to see results in just four weeks. £18, scrap of oil, make-up, dust and dirt is removed with this gentle foaming cleanser that's packed with prebiotics to help keep bacteria at bay. Simply pump the foam on to the back of your hand, swirl through the cleansing brush, which is designed to get in between every lash, and softly massage into your lashes, brushing away from the root, before removing with a damp cotton pad. £2, from your fingers can break down the lash adhesive,' says Docrat, who recommends using a spoolie to comb through instead. This reusable one has supersoft bristles and comes with a lid to keep the brush dust-free. £66, with delicate lash extensions in mind, this celebrity fave, pure mulberry silk sleep mask has a contour on the inside for crease-free lashes while you snooze.@chanelleho The Sunday Times Style Beauty awards are back for 2025.
