Emmy Nominations: Disney+, Peacock & Apple Pick Up Steam As Broadcast, Amazon & FX See Declines
As Deadline reported, HBO scored a record haul of 142 nominations, besting Netflix, which still secured 121 nominations, well up from its 107 last year, and Apple added to its pile from last year.

Elsewhere, there are some interesting numbers for the likes of Disney+ and Peacock, while FX was never going to replicate last year's outsized success, and there's another fall for the overall numbers for the broadcast networks.

Disney+ grew from 19 nominations last year to 28 this year thanks to a haul from Andor as well as some love for Agatha All Along and some documentaries including Beatles '64.
FX couldn't replicate last year's success, which saw series such as Shōgun take it to a record haul. It dropped from 93 nominations to 35 tpday despite big mornings for The Bear, as per usual, the Michelle Williams-led Dying For Sex and What We Do In the Shadows. Disney scored 128 nominations across all of its platforms including ABC, Disney+, FX, Hulu and Nat Geo.
Peacock grew its numbers from nine noms last year to 19 this year thanks to a raft of SNL spinoffs and The Traitors.
Comedy Central also doubled its total from last year, largely thanks to The Daily Show, while Paramount+ remained steady with seven (up from six last year)
Amazon didn't have a great morning, down considerably from last year. In 2024, it nabbed 37 nominations but this year only got 12 including four for The Boys.
Broadcast television was also down, despite a lot of awards for SNL around its 50th anniversary. ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC accounted for 99 nominations this year, down from 115 last year. ABC had 38 nominations, which was the same as last year, while Fox landed seven (six last year) and NBC got 29 (33 last year). CBS saw the biggest drop, from 38 noms to 26.

'It's scary at moments': Creators say 'Wednesday' season 2 will bring real stakes and fear
If you thought 'Wednesday' was creepy and kooky before, season 2 is about to crank the horror up several notches. According to the show's creators, Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, the new season won't just flirt with spooky but dive headfirst into intense territory. When speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Millar said: 'There's some moments which are definitely horror movie-worthy. We have that in season 1, but I think this season there are moments that are very intense, I'll say.' He added: 'Season 2 definitely has some moments which are more straightforward horror, and we're very aware that the show is watched by everybody in terms of the age groups. 'We want to make sure that it's never torture porn, but that there's enough bite to it that it feels that there are real stakes and that people die in this world, and it's scary at moments. And I think that's the great tonal shift that the show makes between comedy and horror.' After getting an early glimpse of 'Wednesday' season 2 through the official trailer (which included the first six minutes of the premiere) fans were recently treated to even more footage thanks to a brand-new trailer from the streaming service. Nelly is final Minnesota State Fair 2025 Grandstand act to be announced
It will be getting "Hot in Herre" at the Minnesota State Fair when Nelly takes the Grandstand stage to perform. The fair announced its final Grandstand act for 2025 on Tuesday. Nelly will perform at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, with Ja Rule, Mýa and Ying Yang Twins. Tickets go on sale Friday. Seeing the southern hip-hop artist behind hits like "Country Grammar" and "Ride Wit Me" will cost you a minimum of $54. This will be Nelly's first time playing the Grandstand. Previously announced Grandstand shows include Meghan Trainor, Old Dominion, Melissa Etheridge, The Avett Brothers and Def Leppard. The fair runs from Aug. 21 to Sept. 1. Tickets will be $2 more expensive this year. Last week, the fair announced its new foods for 2025, including chicken-fried bacon fries, dill pickle iced tea and more.
