Host your own Alice in Wonderland tea party
Observed every year on July 4, it marks the day when Carroll first shared the story with Alice Liddell, an acquiantance and the subject of his story, during a boat ride. What better way to honour a world where time runs wild, and logic takes a holiday, than by hosting your very own, delightfully mad Alice-themed hi-tea?
Add playing cards, serve Queen of Hearts tarts, and don't forget a little 'Eat Me' magic in the menu. After all, in Wonderland – the more bonkers, the better!
Host your own Mad Hatter soiree
Planning an enchanting hi-tea means transforming your space into a topsy-turvy Wonderland.
'Begin by setting the mood with fairy lights draped on trees or in bottles, glowing mushrooms, and candles in teacups to evoke that 'Mad Hatter's Tea' vibe. Add a 'Drink Me' bar with funky mocktails and an 'Eat Me' corner with themed desserts,' says Ishika Agarwal, founder of an event management brand. Create a riddle station, just like the Cheshire Cat might.
For photos, set up a booth with props like rabbit ears, crowns, and grumpy cat smiles. Floating hats, teacups, and golden keys can add to
the charm.
Blue, bows & beyond
For a fresh spin on Alice's iconic look, try a modern Alpha Gen twist with a corset over a slip dress. 'Powder blue is key. It's quintessentially Alice. Keep the silhouette simple with textured fabrics. Lace, ribbons, and a princess bodice with a gathered bottom nod to classic European style,' says stylist Neel Saha. For makeup, focus on wide, innocent eyes with white liner and rosy blush. 'This gives you that youthful, curious gaze,' adds Sonam Jaiswal, makeup artist.

Tea time with a twist of whimsy
Johanne Mantosh, who styled the table for us, suggests to keep the theme whimsical, chaotic, but calm. 'I've used colourful flowers, mismatched cutlery, and elements like a horse spoon!' For that 'Drink Me' vibe – 'mix black and white jars with red and green ones, balance it with vibrant crockery, blooms, and potion-like drinks,' she says, adding, 'Include different types of tea, such as Matcha, and offer puff pastry, dim sums, cupcakes, and pastries.
Go with whatever sparks your dopamine.' Add elements inspired by the Queen of Hearts and the Cheshire Cat.
Alice is a believer and a dreamer who follows her path and so do I. The whole set up and outfit made me feel like a princess. The shoot was dreamy

'Jail or blacklisted': Ethan Klein wants Twitch CEO Dan Clancy to get jailed over HasanAbi toy gun incident
(Image via @huffnmorepuff & @hasanthehun/X) Tensions are boiling over in the streaming world as H3H3's Ethan Klein called out Twitch CEO Dan Clancy with a scathing statement: 'I hope Dan Clancy ends up in jail.' This explosive remark came after a fiery controversy involving political streamer HasanAbi, sparking a debate over Twitch's selective rule enforcement and alleged hypocrisy among creators. The Trigger: HasanAbi's Toy Gun Outburst On July 3, 2025, HasanAbi went viral after a clip surfaced showing him reacting aggressively to a viewer's alleged threats. During a live stream, he identified a YouTuber believed to be behind the hate messages and pointed what appeared to be a toy gun at the screen, ranting: 'Let's hang Hasan and Mamdani for treason, he says... What are you going to do? Try to f**king put malware in my phone? Is that what you're going to do? You skinny b**ch! Ugly a**!" The video ignited backlash, with some accusing HasanAbi of inciting harassment and even potential doxing — a serious violation of Twitch's terms of service. Ethan Klein Fires Back The next day, Ethan Klein, known for his bold opinions on the H3 Podcast , took to Instagram with a brutal critique. Klein claimed that Hasan had not only doxed the wrong person but had also done so while wielding a realistic-looking toy weapon — something Ethan himself had been previously crucified for. (Ethan Klein called out Twitch over HasanAbi toy gun incident on Instagram (Image via @h3Hhproductions/Instagram) His story was unapologetically direct: 'You spent the last year calling me a doxxer for doing the same exact thing... I'm not offended… I just find the brazen hypocrisy funny.' But the sharpest barb was reserved for Dan Clancy. Ethan accused the Twitch CEO of enabling favoritism and failing to enforce platform rules consistently, saying: 'It's approaching criminal negligence... I hope Dan Clancy ends up in jail or blacklisted from ever working in tech again.' Twitch's Silence Raises Eyebrows The controversy gained even more traction when Daniel Saltman, CEO of REDACT and fellow streamer, stepped in. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo He revealed that he had reported HasanAbi's channel through every official Twitch channel, with no response. Saltman tagged Clancy directly on X (formerly Twitter), accusing Twitch of ignoring reports and dodging accountability: 'This has now been reported on every available system. Good luck finding a reason to ignore them.' Fallout & What's Next At its core, this controversy underscores two major issues: platform favoritism and inconsistent enforcement. Twitch has yet to issue an official statement, and as criticism mounts, pressure on Dan Clancy continues to grow. Will Twitch respond? Will there be consequences for HasanAbi? And will Clancy survive this latest firestorm? One thing's for sure: this isn't over. For real-time updates, scores, and highlights, follow our live coverage of the India vs England Test match here. Reading culture is growing, says Banu Mushtaq
Mysuru: International Booker Prize winner Banu Mushtaq has pushed back against claims of declining readership and the sidelining of short stories, asserting that the reading culture is thriving. "My experience is the opposite. The reading culture is growing," Banu said during an interaction with the reporters in Mysuru on Saturday. Banu, who won the International Booker Prize for a Kannada short story collection, said her writing is rooted in political consciousness and real life. "Writing is inherently political," she said. "My Muslim women characters represent all women who face oppression in patriarchal societies," she added. She expressed displeasure over scepticism surrounding short story collections. "I was informed that I should not have much hope for the collection of short stories, which angered me. In Western countries, I am asked about the book references and academic references in my stories. My answer for them was I have only true life references," she added. Banu said her writings in Kannada too drew criticism. "When I criticised the silence of Bhishmacharya during the insult to Draupadi, I was criticised by a section of society. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo When I started to write stories in Kannada shedding light on the life and struggles of Muslim women, I received criticism. The critics wanted me to write in Urdu as Kannada writings make the world know the sufferings," she said. On muted responses from some literary circles and no wishes from the PM, she said, "Characters of my stories are always optimistic, and they never give up. Similarly, I am also optimistic that in the coming days, they may congratulate me. I believe Prime Minister Modi will congratulate me. I am hopeful about it." On the controversy surrounding her selection to preside over the 88th Kannada Sahitya Sammelana in Ballari, she said, "I was not selected by any individual. But the executive committee of the Parishat unanimously selected me. The govt has the power to inquire if there are allegations," Banu said. Asked about inaugurating Mysuru Dasara, she quipped, "I don't stitch the cradle before the baby is born."

'This is not a real gun, pu**y,': HasanAbi trolls critics after facing backlash over toy gun controversy
(Image via @hasanthehun & @dancantstream/X) Popular Twitch streamer and political commentator HasanAbi is back in the headlines, but not for the first time, and definitely not for the last. He is at the center of a heated controversy after flashing a toy gun on stream in response to a death threat. While some called it reckless, Hasan's clapback? 'Soy right is f**king crying about it.' Let's break down what really happened. The Stream That Sparked It All On July 3, 2025, HasanAbi was live when a viewer allegedly sent a threat saying they wanted to 'hang' him. In response, Hasan sarcastically raised a toy gun, threw out a 'good luck,' and moved on. But Hasan quickly clarified: it wasn't real. It wasn't serious. And it definitely wasn't a threat. 'This Is Not a Real Gun, Pu**y' In his very next stream, Hasan was blunt. 'This is not a real gun… pu**y,' he said, holding up the plastic weapon again to prove his point. He explained it was sarcasm and a dark, ironic response to constant death threats. His exact words? 'I say 'good luck' and now the soy right is f**king crying about it… I can't even have a little bit of fun with it?' He doubled down. Hasan insisted that waving a toy gun in jest is miles apart from real threats or doxxing, especially when you're on the receiving end of hate daily. The MoistCr1TiKaL Comparison To highlight the double standard, Hasan brought up MoistCr1TiKaL's 2023 viral video during his feud with Sneako. Back then, Moist casually held two real guns on camera while dismantling Sneako's arguments. But during his time, the internet cheered and he was praised as an epic takedown. So when Hasan brandishes a toy, and the same crowd calls for a ban? Here's what Hassan said: 'Every single person that masturb**ed when MoistCr1TiKaL did the exact same thing, is now going, 'this guy needs to be banned immediately....'' The hypocrisy, according to Hasan, is crystal clear and political. Not His First Rodeo HasanAbi is no stranger to controversy. From calling out 'psychotic MAGA lawyers' to clashing with conservative creators, he's built a platform that thrives on debate and dissent. But this time, the backlash hit differently, with accusations ranging from doxxing to promoting gun culture. HasanAbi's latest controversy is less about props and more about double standards. While the 'soy right' fumes online, Hasan? He's already moved on and is laughing about it.
