Jenna Johnson Responds To Mom-Shaming Criticism

Buzz Feed07-07-2025
You know Jenna Johnson from Dancing with the Stars — and you probably know that she shares a two-year-old child, Rome, with husband Valentin Chmerkovskiy.
Over the weekend, Jenna posted a lengthy reply to her IG Story that included a screenshot of a user employing a seemingly ableist slur against her and Rome — all because she previously posted a picture of her child drinking out of a bottle.
'Sooo yesterday I posted a pic of me and my son who I hadn't seen in 4 days and lots of people felt strongly about him drinking from a bottle," she wrote. "Totally fine when other moms give *positive* advice and I'm always open to feedback to an extent. But this woman (who's [sic] profile pic is of her holding her own baby) decided to DM me this…'
'What world are we living in?? I understand that I put my life out there publicly, which I honestly want to STOP doing when extremely rude and harmful messages toward my baby are sent to me. But are we ok as a society? Also, you yourself are a MOM!!!! Would you want me, a total stranger to DM you this about your child? Because he's drinking from a bottle??? Like WHAT ON EARTH IS HAPPENING."
'I love my social media community on here and really feel so connected to each of you," Jenna concluded in her initial message. "But enough is enough with the sad trolls/bullies on here. Please unfollow me IMMEDIATELY and respectfully get a life.'
Later on, Jenna shared a follow-up message thanking her followers for sending positivity her way. 'I honestly cried reading ALL your messages,' she wrote. 'My heart really hurt yesterday at how vile and mean some people can be, but once again I was shown just how much this little community of mine on here can also show up. You gave me the love, support, and kindness that I believe in!'
'Let's remember that we are all humans, navigating the best we can! I promise to try to only spread positivity and light on my deed and hope you feel inspired to do the same. But seriously, thank you for having my back and making me feel seen. So grateful to each of you!!'
Well, you gotta give it up for something of a happy ending. Good reminder to not be a jerk on the internet as well!

'Bachelorette' alum Hannah Brown marries Adam Woolard in France: ‘Mr. and Mrs. Woolard'

The couple exchanged vows at Domaine du Mont Leuze on Saturday, July 26. 7:25 Hannah Brown is officially off the market! Former "The Bachelorette" star announced she married Adam Woolard over the weekend. In a joint Instagram post on Sunday, Brown shared a stunning wedding photo with Woolard, introducing themselves as "Mr. and Mrs. Woolard 🤍." The nuptials took place on Saturday at Domaine du Mont Leuze in France, attended by 101 guests, according to People. "We wanted something really timeless and classic, and really just the celebration of our love with our friends and family," Brown told the outlet. For the special day, Brown wore a corseted ball gown with intricate leaf embroidery, paired with Jimmy Choo Staz Mesh Bow Pointed Pumps, while Woolard looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo. "I feel like it is so classic, timeless, but also feels a little unique. I love it," Brown shared. "I always knew I wanted to take up space on my wedding day because there's so many times in life, especially as women, that we feel like we need to be smaller. On my wedding day, I didn't want to feel that at all. I feel like a princess, and I feel like that's exactly how you should feel on your wedding day." Woolard also expressed his excitement, telling People he had always envisioned the moment of seeing Brown walk down the aisle. "I have always had a very clear picture of standing up at the altar and looking out at the audience and really connecting with everybody," Woolard said. "But then seeing Hannah walk down, I think is something that I've always had a very clear picture of and how I would feel in that moment. And I just, as a man, knowing that I'm going to get married, I've always had that image in my mind." The couple, who chose to live apart before their wedding, shared that they're looking forward to moving in together and "putting down roots" in Nashville. "We're really focusing on making this house a home together," Brown shared. "Spending time with our families and just having a little bit of a slower pace for just a little bit." Brown first gained recognition on season 23 of "The Bachelor" in 2018, finishing in the top seven, before becoming the lead on season 15 of "The Bachelorette." Brown met Woolard on a dating app, and they announced their engagement in August 2023, sharing a sweet carousel of photos on Instagram, including one where they touched foreheads as Brown showed off her engagement ring. "so happy," she wrote in the caption at the time. "i love our steady love. ❤️." In addition to "The Bachelorette," Brown also competed on season 28 of " Dancing with the Stars," winning the competition with professional dancer Alan Bersten.

'Spartacus: House of Ashur' Comic-Con trailer throws first female gladiator to the wolves

See Tenika Davis in action as Achillia, a gladiatrix. Welcome back to the arena. There have been some changes while you were gone. Spartacus: House of Ashur dropped its first trailer during Saturday's Comic-Con panel, showing off Nick E. Tarabay's return as Ashur and the introduction of the first female gladiator. Spartacus creator Steven DeKnight already gave Entertainment Weekly the inside scoop on how he settled on the concept for the show, which is a revisionist history that imagines what would've happened if Ashur didn't die on Mt. Vesuvius and instead took over the gladiator school from Batiatus (John Hannah). The trailer now shows Ashur, a former slave, struggling to be accepted by high society. So he decides to make his mark by introducing "a sight never before witnessed in the arena." Tenika Davis (Wrong Turn) debuts as Achillia, a gladiatrix, i.e. female gladiator. She becomes a spectacle in the gladiatorial matches, but first she, too, must fight for the respect of the male gladiators. The trailer shows her in action, performing acrobatic flips mid-air in the arena. "We wanted to bring in the female gladiators, but historically they didn't appear in ancient Rome until about 100 years later," DeKnight previously told EW. "This time around, Ashur upsets history and introduces the female gladiator 100 years early." On Achillia, the showrunner said, "She's just as driven, just as dangerous as the men. One of the things we wanted to do on this show is, of course, have all those great staples of the original — the sex, the intrigue, the violence, the complicated twists and turns — but also offering something new. One of those main pillars were the gladiatrices." The trailer also confirms Spartacus: House of Ashur will arrive on Starz this winter, though specific timing is still unknown. Tarabay, Davis, Graham McTavish (The Witcher), Jamaica Vaughan (Home and Away), Jordi Webber (Choose Love), and Jaime Slater (Jupiter's Legacy) all joined DeKnight for the Spartacus: House of Ashur Comic-Con panel. And although DeKnight told EW that Spartacus himself is still dead in the timeline of this successor show, Liam McIntyre, who played the role on the previous Vengeance and War of the Damned seasons of the original drama, returned to moderate the conversation.
