📈 MLS Power Rankings: No movement in the top-three, plenty elsewhere
Lock in, folks!
10. Austin FC (👎)

Despite boasting one of the most expensive attacking units in MLS, Austin have made a conservative start to the season under new boss Nico Estévez, but the game-plan has seemingly paid off. After a goalless draw with Portland over the weekend, they have now only conceded three goals in seven games.
At the other end of the pitch however, they have only scored five. If they can produce more goals from their counter-attacks, their defensive acumen is solid enough to make them a true contender.
9. Orlando City (👍)

Unlike Austin, Orlando's strength this season has been the high-flying form of their attacking stars, though they were blanked by a rock-solid Philadelphia side over the weekend.

Orlando are still trying find a balance between defense and attack, but when they do they will be one of the toughest outs in the east.
8. LAFC (👎)

Steve Cherundolo's side continue to slip in our top-10. After suffering a surprise defeat in Houston on Saturday, albeit with a weather delay mucking the evening up, LAFC have now lost three of their last four MLS games and find themselves seven points out first place in the Western Conference.
While some of this slump can be attributed to their ongoing Concacaf Champions Cup tie with Inter Miami, you can't look past this LAFC team continually dropping points against perceived inferior teams.
7. Philadelphia Union (👎)

Philadelphia falling a few places in the rankings may seem harsh, but they are a victim of the teams around them all excelling over the weekend. A relatively drab goalless draw with Orlando on Saturday means they've now dropped points in two straight matches after a record-start to the campaign.
However, whether it's seventh or fourth, the Union should be remaining in our top-10 throughout most of this campaign.
6. Charlotte FC (👍)

Charlotte are back to winning ways after coming back to down Nashville early on Saturday. The stars like Pep Biel and Wilfried Zaha are starting to shine once again after a few weeks of anonymity, and with a solid tactical foundation in place at all times, it is that stardust that will elevate Charlotte to the next level.
5. Minnesota United (👍)

Eric Ramsay's side have become one of the toughest nuts to crack in all of MLS. Since an opening day defeat to LAFC, the Loons have remained unbeaten in the league, and have now won two straight thanks to a solid victory away to NYCFC over the weekend.
Tani Oluwaseyi has been a revelation up front, scoring five goals in six games so far this season. Like Charlotte before them, Minnesota thrive off of being well-coached, and sprinkling in individual brilliance when it matters.
4. Vancouver Whitecaps (👍)

Vancouver should perhaps be higher in this ranking, but after dropping points in two straight matches before dispatching Colorado over the weekend, they slipped just enough to allow this week's top-three to blow by them.

Whitecaps fans won't give a damn however, as they remain top of the Supporters Shield race. The shock start is looking far more than a purple patch now.
3. San Diego FC (no movement)

What can you say about San Diego that hasn't been said yet? The MLS newcomers continue to ride the buzz of their new surroundings, thrashing the Seattle Sounders in SoCal late Saturday evening.
Chucky Lozano marked his return with a hand in all three goals (2G, 1A), and the Mexican looks dead set on being the catalyst for consistent success at SnapDragon.
2. Columbus Crew (no movement)

The Crew just keep doing Crew things. After fending off a late fight-back from Montréal over the weekend, Columbus extended their unbeaten streak to start the season to seven games.
They've taken the key departures of star attackers in the winter right on the chin.
1. Inter Miami (no movement)
📸 Jim Rassol-Imagn Images
Surprise surprise, Inter Miami remain top of our rankings, despite a surprise home draw with lowly Toronto on Sunday night.
Like LAFC before them, some grace can be given to the Herons as they have one eye on the second-leg showdown with Steve Cherundolo's side.

🚨 BREAKING: Crystal Palace defender completes MLS move
MLS side Colorado Rapids have signed Rob Holding from Crystal Palace on a free transfer. The former Arsenal defender had one year remaining on his contract at Selhurst Park, but agreed to depart on a free this summer. He has now signed an 18-month contract with the American club through to the 2026 season. Holding struggled to break into the Eagles' first team after joining from Arsenal in 2023 for £4m and played just one senior game. He spent the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan with Championship outfit Sheffield United and made 11 appearances. The 29-year-old featured over 160 times for the Gunners before his move across London and won two FA Cups. Holding is expected to provide valuable first-team experience for the Rapids, who are chasing a play-off spot in the MLS Western Conference. 📸 Patrick Khachfe - 2024 Getty Images

Son Heung-Min Has Last Dance In Seoul As Tottenham Hotspur Exit Looms
In a non-descript meeting room above a mall in the heart of Seoul's financial district, Son Heung-min announced on Saturday what many had been expecting, that he would leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer. His next destination: likely Major League Soccer and LAFC. Even before Son's announcement, there had been rumors that he would leave Spurs after Tottenham's tour of Asia. There was even speculation in the local media that he would've already left Spurs if not for contract obligations that required Son to play in the friendly match against Newcastle United in Seoul on Sunday. Spurs In Seoul That game is Spurs' fifth game in South Korea in the past four years. Those tours have proved highly lucrative, with the tours' sponsor Coupang, Korea's answer to Amazon, using them to launch its streaming service and this year, its 'Sports Pass' add-on after it acquired the rights to broadcast Premier League matches for the upcoming season. On Sunday, the Seoul World Cup Stadium, kitted out in Coupang's blue and white logos, was a sea of Tottenham shirts by the time Spurs players entered the pitch for their warm-up 40 minutes before kick off. When Spurs arrived in Korea, they were met at the airport by crowds of fans. Not just Sonny, but other Spurs players have grown in popularity in Korea on the back of all these visits. One fan, crying uncontrollably, even presented James Maddison with a large painted portrait. Many of these fans will be Spurs fans for life, but there will inevitably be a bit of a drop off in interest from South Koreans once Son leaves. The question for Spurs' marketing department now will be how big that drop off will be. Will Spurs without Son visit Seoul next summer? The stooges for this year's game, Newcastle United, clearly don't have the same pull as Spurs in South Korea. Newcastle's match in Suwon against an all-star team from the local K-League earlier in the week attracted just 27,000 fans. Even a half time concert by K-pop stars IVE couldn't draw fans to watch the match against two teams seemingly cobbled together at the last minute. Newcastle's pre-season has been defined by the transfer saga surrounding Alexander Isak. Head coach Eddie Howe on Saturday, in between calling Son 'one of the legends of the Premier League' and answering questions on other Korean soccer players, batted away questions about Isak and his whereabouts. While losing Isak would massively weaken Newcastle, Spurs head coach Thomas Frank also has to plan for life without Son Heung-min, although this could allow Frank to rebuild Spurs more in his own image. Son Heung-min's Last Dance It only took three minutes of the match against Newcastle before fans saw Son's trademark camera square celebration. But it was Brennan Johnson who got the goal. Son Heung-min missed a good chance a few minutes later and had a shot blocked after a breakaway attack later in the first half. Newcastle equalized shortly afterward. Son Heung-min was substituted on 63 minutes, receiving a standing ovation and getting a guard of honor from the players on the pitch before hugging all the members of the Spurs bench as the crowd chanted his name. Son was replaced by Tottenham's biggest signing of the summer so far, Mohammed Kudus. The match finished 1-1. Leaving As A Legend After captaining Spurs to Europa League glory last season, Son Heung-min goes out on a high, but he also leaves Spurs just as his ability to change games is starting to wane. Son's seven Premier league goals last season was the first time he has failed to score ten league goals since his first season in north London. Injuries and Spurs' awful form are a large part of the reason for that, but it would be foolish to expect Son to be able to hit the heights of 2018 to 2022 again with Spurs next season. Now does feel like the right time for Son to leave Spurs as 'a legend' and start the next chapter of his career.
