Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami performs Gau-Poojan at Lalkuan Municipal Corporation Gaushala
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of various development schemes and said, 'It is our resolve to bring the pace of development to every village and every city.'
Through Gau Poojan, CM Dhami sent the message of Gau Samvardhan to society: 'The protection of Mother Cow is the identity of our civilisation.'
According to a CMO statement, Dhami participated in the three-day Prana Pratishtha ceremony held at the historic Kalu Siddha Temple in Haldwani earlier today.

On this occasion, he duly worshipped and offered a canopy in the temple and prayed for the happiness and prosperity of the state's people. On this occasion, he also inspected the newly constructed grand temple complex.
The Chief Minister said that Kalu Siddha Temple is the main centre of faith for the area's people. He said the government prioritises forwarding development works while preserving the state's spiritual and cultural heritage.
Meanwhile, Dhami also planted a tree in Pant Park during his stay in Nainital and administered the oath.
The Chief Minister also participated in cleaning activities under the Swachhata Abhiyan.
On friday, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived in Nainital for a two-day visit. On the first day of his stay, he inspected the beautification and redevelopment works at Mallital for Rs 1,101 crore under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala Yojana. Under this scheme, 12 new shops are being developed, and they were also inaugurated.
On this occasion Chief Minister Dhami announced: work will be done to improve the Dhunighat and Ratighat footpath; Shahid Sanjay Bisht Motor Road (Kainchi-Hartapa-Hailimotor Road to Titoli) will be upgraded and improve; sections of State Highway No. 71 (Ramnagar-Bhandarpani-Amgari-Bhaurakot-Betalghat-Bhujan Richi-Billekh) will be strengthened; DSA ground will be developed as a model sports center for national level sports competitions and training; alternative parking will be constructed in Nainital; hockey turf and boxing ring will be built in the flats ground; flats ground will be used only for sports and cultural events, other commercial activities will be prohibited; Nainital bus stand complex will be redeveloped through lightweight structure to increase public transport facility and reduce traffic jam. Central team assesses damages in Himachal Pradesh's Thunag; DC says Rs 394cr lost
Kullu/Mandi: A central govt team visited the affected areas of Thunag sub-division in Mandi district on Sunday to assess the damage caused by floods and landslides, and was informed that the area suffered Rs 394 crore in damages. Led by G Parthasarathi, joint secretary, ministry of home affairs, the six-member team inspected the damage to houses and other properties in Bagsiad and the nearby village of Sharan. The team also inspected the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) and other damaged structures in the area. During a meeting with the visiting team, Mandi deputy commissioner Apoorv Devgan put losses suffered in the district at Rs 708 crore. Devgan said Karsog suffered a loss of Rs 55 crore and Dharampur of Rs 47 crore. At Fanyaar village, the team reviewed the destruction caused by a landslide and gathered information about the damage to a drinking water supply scheme on Chhadi Khad in Dhangudhar. Later, the team visited Thunag market and assessed the damage to homes, shops, and various institutions, as well as the impact of the severe flooding on the local economy. In Deji village, which was among the worst-hit areas, the team examined a road washed away by the flood and the damage to other public infrastructure. Devgan briefed the central team on the widespread damage in the region and also shared information about the ongoing restoration efforts. Local MLA and leader of the opposition Jairam Thakur also accompanied the central team and shared information about the disaster-related losses in the area. Special secretary (revenue and disaster management) D C Rana apprised the team of the relief and rehabilitation works being carried out by the state govt in the disaster-affected areas. Chairing the meeting, Kandarp V Patel, deputy secretary, ministry of finance, expressed sympathy with the people and said after receiving the final damage reports, the team will prepare a comprehensive report to be presented to the National Executive Committee on Disaster Management. Based on its recommendations, the final report will be submitted to the high-level committee chaired by the Union home minister. He urged all concerned departments to submit their damage assessment reports in line with the prescribed norms. Liquor ‘scam': YSRCP MP played key role in policy changes
SIT arrests YSRCP MP Midhun Reddy VIJAYAWADA: YSRCP MP PV Midhun Reddy, arrested by an Andhra Pradesh Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the alleged liquor scam case, has been remanded in judicial custody till Aug 1. Following his arrest Saturday night, he was taken for medical exam to Vijayawada Govt Hospital on Sunday and later produced before ACB Special Court. According to the remand report, Midhun Reddy has been named as accused No 4 in the case related to alleged irregularities in the state's liquor policy between 2019 and 2024, resulting in a 'misappropriation' of about Rs 3,500 crore. The report alleges Midhun Reddy played a role in orchestrating policy changes and coordinating with co-accused to secure kickbacks from distilleries and suppliers. The SIT alleged Midhun Reddy influenced Andhra Pradesh State Beverages Corporation Ltd officials. According to SIT, kickbacks collected from liquor suppliers were routed through a hierarchical chain. The funds were first collected and handed over allegedly to Kesireddy Rajasekhar Reddy, who then 'transferred' them to ex-MP Vijay Sai Reddy, Midhun Reddy, & businessman Govindappa Balaji. These individuals 'transferred' money allegedly to ex-CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy . To execute scheme, officers 'amenable' to the accused's designs were 'strategically appointed to key positions' within govt.

Balrampur court clerk held for role in Chhangur's conversion racket
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on Sunday arrested a clerk at Balrampur Court for his alleged association with Jalaluddin alias Chhangur Baba, the mastermind behind an illegal religious conversion syndicate. Rajesh Upadhyay, the accused, was arrested from Chinhat for allegedly providing court-level assistance and funding to Chhangur, making him the sixth associate of Chhangur to be apprehended. ATS sources said that during interrogation, Rajesh confessed to misusing his position to secure court relief for Chhangur in multiple cases. Chhangur faces charges under various sections, including sedition, fraud, inciting hatred among communities and violations of the anti-conversion law. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) previously conducted raids on 12 locations linked to Chhangur in Balrampur. The ATS revealed that Rajesh's wife Sangeeta is connected to a Rs 16 crore property deal in Pune, which is under investigation for potential links to hawala transactions and conversion activities. Earlier, the ED had conducted raids on Rajesh's properties in Lucknow.
