Othello Tunnels reopen, but no sign of man who fell into Coquihalla River
RCMP closed off the area in the park as a police underwater recovery team went into the Coquihalla River on Wednesday to try to find the 19-year-old man but was unsuccessful.

There was also no sign of the man using a drone to search along the river on Thursday.
RCMP say they will resume the search on Saturday, and parts of the park may be restricted to public access due to those efforts.
Hope RCMP Staff Sgt. Mike Sargent says in a statement that the pools of water where the missing man was last seen have been thoroughly searched.

The man fell into the river near the tunnels last Saturday, and emergency responders were able to rescuing a bystander who was stranded while looking for the missing man.
Police said previously that they believed the man's body was trapped underwater by heavy currents.

Police received 'multiple' calls before Ladysmith, B.C., crash sent 2 to hospital
Police on Vancouver Island say they've arrested a driver after a head-on crash at a highway intersection in Ladysmith, B.C., on Saturday. Nanaimo RCMP say they received multiple calls about an aggressive driver of a Ram 1500 on the Trans-Canada Highway in the minutes before the truck crashed head-on with a Nissan Sentra. Police say the crash occurred at the intersection of the highway and Timberlands Road in Ladysmith around 7 p.m. Saturday. Mounties say the truck was reported to be speeding and hitting other vehicles while running red lights, and the crash happened at a "high rate of speed" after the Ram 1500 allegedly ran a red light, which they say caused significant front end damage to the smaller car. After the crash the truck kept going in the wrong direction in the northbound lane before hitting a median, RCMP say, and the driver fled before being picked up by police. Police say both people in the Nissan were taken to hospital by B.C. Emergency Health Services, and investigators are looking to speak with people who may have seen the truck swerving onto sidewalks, running red lights and hitting a maroon-coloured sedan on Aug. 2 just before 7 p.m.

2 killed, 6 hurt in shooting at Los Angeles music festival after-party
A shooting erupted during a music festival after-party in downtown Los Angeles, killing two people and wounding six others early Monday, authorities said. Authorities first responded around 11 p.m. local time Sunday to shut down a 'big party' after officers saw a person possibly armed with a gun go inside a building in a downtown warehouse district, said Officer Norma Eisenman. That person was arrested at the scene, she said. The party had been promoted on social media as an unofficial after-party for Hard Summer, a weekend techno-music festival held at Hollywood Park, about 9 miles (14 km) away in Inglewood, KTLA-TV reported. Story continues below advertisement A male victim died at the scene and a female victim died at a hospital, Eisenman said. Six people were taken to hospitals in unknown condition, she said. A man told KABC-TV that his 29-year-old son was one of the two people killed. 'This senseless violence and loss of life is devastating and those who are responsible must be held accountable,' Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass said in a statement. 'There will be no tolerance for violence in this city. My thoughts are with the victims and their families.' There was no information about a suspect or a motive. Investigators remained at the scene for hours. Tyrone Laney, who lives in a temporary housing encampment around the corner from where the shooting occurred, said the partygoers returned about an hour after police broke up the gathering late Sunday. He said he heard thumping music, and then, around 1 a.m., a burst of gunfire from what sounded like an automatic weapon. 'It was pretty clear and loud. … You knew that if those bullets landed in somebody, that they weren't walking away from the situation,' Laney told the Los Angeles Times.
