Edinburgh's Colinton village gets new mural from artist who painted Colinton Tunnel
Now he has produced another work of art, depicting a bustling historic Colinton Village, set to bring a new vibrant feel to a neglected lane at the heart of the village,
The mural spans the length of Cuddies Lane, an important pedestrian vennel in the village, and it has a strong focus on horses and period village life in keeping with it its historic location.
Chris, who grew up in Colinton, said: 'It's a huge honour to have painted this mural. I was brought up locally, the hope is that this new mural affectionately celebrating the past can help cement Colinton's future.'
The Colinton Tunnel mural, painted on the walls of a 140 metre long former railway tunnel on the Water of Leith Walkway, has become one of Edinburgh's most visited locations outside the city centre, a local landmark and a destination venue for the area.
The Colinton Amenity Association (CAA) wants to continue the good work done by the Colinton Tunnel charity and give tunnel visitors the motivation to take the extra step to Colinton Village. to see other local sites, and give local businesses a boost.
Now that the Cuddies Lane mural has been completed, there are plans to seek planning permission for further artwork running down the entrance lane to Spylaw Park to strengthen the link between the Colinton Tunnel and Colinton Village.

He was the man behind the Colinton Tunnel project, but he has also painted murals of Bannockburn, Tam O'Shanter and lots more. And just moments later, it was confirmed that the Reach singer had become the first to leave the course as her co-stars speculated that she had suffered a panic attack. It comes after Channel 4 breaks silence after Gogglebox couple suddenly dumped from show. However, in a confessional aired seconds beforehand, Hannah said: "I am pretty determined. I wouldn't say I give up easily but whether I get to the end or not...I don't think I'll go on the first day because I just wouldn't forgive myself." She went onto tell instructors: "Sorry - I'm done. Sorry. I've reached a point." And she wasn't the only star to fall at the first hurdle, as dancer Louie Spence also dramatically left the show as the tough scenes unfolded. "If there was a world war and they decided they were gonna call everyone up, would I be the first to jump up and say 'Yes me?' Being surrounded my thousands of soldiers, I might just jump at it. I'd be the home guard like on Dad's Army. We'll have a gay Dad's Army. "Honestly, they wouldn't wanna mess with the gays!" But, despite his confidence, just moments later, Chris Fox described the group's effort as "abysmal" after the latest task. He reminded the recruits to think about why they were there and suggested they take things "seriously". Louie piped up: "I wanna do an immediate withdrawal. I just don't have the conviction and I feel as though I'm not dedicated enough," he said as he removed his armband. Chris gave him the chance to put his arm band back on, but Louie refused, so Chris said: "Get your kit." In a previously-filmed confessional, Louie, 56, had said: "I'm a survivor, I would keep battling to survive. I think the worst way for me to leave the course would be to choose to leave. That would really p*** me off," but just seconds later, it was confirmed that he had indeed quit the show." Prior to his swift exit, Louie had sung the praises of the directing staff on the programme, as he said: "I actually looked at them and thought, 'oh, my God', because what they do and what they've done is incredible. I could never do that for real. "Do you know what I mean? They are a different breed, like doctors and surgeons and things like that. So I did look at them in that sense and think that what they really did in their day job was incredible." And when asked for asked with what he struggled most with, he admitted: "Definitely the physical side of the course. "Even though I've struggled with my anxiety and depression, mentally I was in a really strong, good place. It wasn't about an individual which they made very clear at the beginning, it was about the group. I love being a group player, I love being with people. But in that scenario, in the reality of it when I was there, I didn't think I was capable of being a group player."

Cathedral of the Isles Cumbrae, just four miles long, epitomises the perfect Scottish island getaway accessible within an hour from Glasgow. The Cathedral of the Isles, Britain's smallest cathedral, sits in the charming town of Millport, where Victorian villas line the seafront and traditional seaside amusements endure. Founded in 1849 and consecrated in 1851, the Cathedral and adjacent College of the Holy Spirit, were designed by William Butterfield, one of the greatest nineteenth century British architects. The buildings remain with little alteration. Culzean Castle and Country Park Perched dramatically on Ayrshire clifftops, this Robert Adam masterpiece represents 18th-century architecture at its finest. Opened in 1865 and then rebuilt in 1903 to a design by James Miller for the Caledonian Railway, Wemyss Bay Station is widely regarded as one of the UK's finest. An architectural masterpiece which utilises glass and steel curves to assist the flow of passengers it is a much loved remnant of the age of the Clyde steamers. It still links with the Rothesay ferry and there are regular trains from Glasgow Central.
