Bold Oilers-Golden Knights Prediction Challenges Wayne Gretzky
Edmonton is fresh off a series win over the Los Angeles Kings, so they are feeling very confident. The Oilers are also looking to get back to the Stanley Cup Finals this year after they lost in Game 7 last season.

For the Golden Knights, they want to make a statement against the Oilers. Vegas has been a fairly dominant team since they entered the NHL, but they were bounced in the first round last season.
Heading into the series, many people seem torn on who they believe will win the series. Scott Maxwell of The Daily Faceoff is going with Vegas to win the series in six games.
"Last round, I predicted that the Kings would finally best the Oilers and win a series. I doubted McDavid, Draisaitl and co. and went with the surprise pick, and it burned me. I've learned my lesson this time around, right?"
This prediction from Maxwell goes against the pick of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky picked the Oilers to return to the Stanley Cup Finals, so if Maxwell is correct, Gretzky's playoff pick would fall flat.

It can be bold to bet against a legend like Gretzky, but Vegas is a very good team. Edmonton will certainly give them a challenge, but the Golden Knights are being favored to win.

Game 1 between the Oilers and Golden Knights is set to begin on Tuesday, May 6 at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Golden Knights have home-ice advantage, so the game will take place at T-Mobile Arena.

Dan Campbell Sends Warning To Rest Of NFL Entering 2025
Dan Campbell Sends Warning To Rest Of NFL Entering 2025 originally appeared on The Spun. Dan Campbell's Detroit Lions still have another hurdle to clear in 2025. The Lions continued their franchise turnaround by going 15-2 with the NFL's top scoring offense last year, but their most triumphant season in franchise history ended in a second-round playoff loss to the Washington Commanders. Detroit has still never played in a Super Bowl. Advertisement Campbell wants to end that drought and avenge last season's swift playoff exit with a title run. "We're out to finish what we started," Campbell said Monday, per Yahoo Sports' Jori Epstein. "We're going to close out some of these debts." The league took notice of Detroit's success and ransacked Campbell's coaching staff. Offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn landed head coaching jobs with the Chicago Bears and New York Jets, respectively. Advertisement Former Denver Broncos pass game coordinator John Morton replaces Johnson, and the Lions promoted linebackers coach Kelvin Sheppard to fill Glenn's former job. Grau/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images All-Pro wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown is confident in Morton and Sheppard handling their new roles. "It's not like we're going from Ben and AG to some coaches that don't know anything," St. Brown said. "Don't act like we're bringing in a scrub. These coaches know ball." Those changes could still jeopardize Detroit's status as a legitimate championship contender in 2025. The Lions lost another vital piece when Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow retired. Advertisement Amid much change, Campbell returns for his fifth season as head coach. Their record has improved each year, but the next step is competing for the Lombardi Trophy. "We're going to do what we do here from Dan more than anybody else — he's the top of the brain trust," wide receivers coach Scottie Montgomery said. "Everything changes. Nothing stays the same. If it is, the complacency will kill you." Campbell's new staff won't get an easy adjustment period, as the Lions open the regular season with NFC North clashes against the Green Bay Packers and Johnson's Bears before facing the Baltimore Ravens on the road. Is Caitlin Clark playing today? Fever star's injury status for game vs. Liberty
At 12-11, the Indiana Fever are smack dab in the center of the WNBA playoff race. However, star guard Caitlin Clark has missed considerable time this season, making it much more difficult for the Fever to stay afloat. Clark was even forced to miss All-Star festivities nursing a groin injury. Given the Fever's record this year is a subpar 4-6 without Clark in the lineup, an extended absence could spell the end of Indiana's playoff hopes. The Fever's schedule is brutal coming up. Three of their next four games are against teams currently in playoff position in the New York Liberty, Las Vegas Aces, and Phoenix Mercury. If Clark misses substantial time, she might not return to a playoff contender. Fever coach Stephanie White had previously stated that she did not expect Clark to be available for Tuesday's game. White did not offer a timetable for Clark's return. "We're just going to continue to take it one day at a time and let her get her evaluations early this week. And once we have that, hopefully, we'll have a clear mind on what that looks like," White said Monday afternoon. Advertisement Clark will still travel with the team to New York for the game. How did Caitlin Clark get injured? Clark suffered a groin injury late during the Fever's 85-77 win over the Connecticut Sun on July 15. Clark recorded an assist to Kelsey Mitchell but was seen grabbing her groin as she headed back up court. She was promptly subbed out and has not returned to action since. After Tuesday's game, Clark will have missed 11 of the Fever's 24 games this season. She did not miss any time her rookie season or throughout her collegiate career at Iowa. The Fever are 4-6 without Clark in the lineup, while boasting an 8-5 record with Clark playing.
