Bold Oilers-Golden Knights Prediction Challenges Wayne Gretzky
Edmonton is fresh off a series win over the Los Angeles Kings, so they are feeling very confident. The Oilers are also looking to get back to the Stanley Cup Finals this year after they lost in Game 7 last season.

For the Golden Knights, they want to make a statement against the Oilers. Vegas has been a fairly dominant team since they entered the NHL, but they were bounced in the first round last season.
Heading into the series, many people seem torn on who they believe will win the series. Scott Maxwell of The Daily Faceoff is going with Vegas to win the series in six games.
"Last round, I predicted that the Kings would finally best the Oilers and win a series. I doubted McDavid, Draisaitl and co. and went with the surprise pick, and it burned me. I've learned my lesson this time around, right?"
This prediction from Maxwell goes against the pick of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky picked the Oilers to return to the Stanley Cup Finals, so if Maxwell is correct, Gretzky's playoff pick would fall flat.

It can be bold to bet against a legend like Gretzky, but Vegas is a very good team. Edmonton will certainly give them a challenge, but the Golden Knights are being favored to win.

Game 1 between the Oilers and Golden Knights is set to begin on Tuesday, May 6 at 9:30 p.m. ET. The Golden Knights have home-ice advantage, so the game will take place at T-Mobile Arena.

McIntosh takes 400m freestyle gold in Singapore
Canada's Summer McIntosh took gold in the women's 400m freestyle event at the World Aquatics Championships in Singapore as American Katie Ledecky finished with the bronze. The event was seen as a battle between 18-year-old McIntosh - who has three Olympic gold medals - and 28-year-old nine-time Olympic champion Ledecky. However, McIntosh led from the start to win in three minutes 56 seconds, with China's Li Bingjie second and Ledecky 2.23secs behind the leader. McIntosh has a chance to join Michael Phelps as the only swimmer to win five individual titles at a single world championships as she is also set to race in the 400m and 200m individual medley, 200m butterfly and 800m freestyle. Speaking to Canadian broadcaster CBC, the teenager said: "It's amazing, day one is probably my biggest day in the meet. "That 400m freestyle, I was so in control that entire race and super strong. Overall I felt I had the endurance. I'm just trying to take it one race at a time and day by day." Ben Proud beat his own British record as he recorded a time of 22.74secs to finish second in his semi-final, behind Switzerland's Noe Ponti, to reach the men's 50m butterfly final. Britain's Jordan Houlden came fourth in men's 1m springboard diving event, while Noah Penman finished 17th out of 59 divers in the preliminary round on his maiden senior world championships appearance.
