Peyton Manning and Carrie Penner check in on high school helmet project
The Denver Broncos are making a big impact in 2025, on and off the field.
As part of the ALL IN. ALL COVERED. campaign, where the Broncos pledged to provide new Riddell helmets to all 277 Colorado high schools, Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning and team co-owner Carrie Walton Penner took a tour of the Riddell facility to check on the progress of the project.
Manning and Penner were shown each step of the helmet-making process: picking, painting, decal application, packaging and shipping.
Penner was able to help paint a few of the helmets, while Manning helped with decal application.
While reviewing completed helmets for the Peyton Panthers, Manning poked fun at the name of the team. "Peyton Panthers, appropriately named because the Broncos beat the Panthers ten years ago in the Super Bowl," said Manning. "We're combining all these worlds. Peyton Pride, baby!"

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler polled NFL executives, coaches, and scouts asking them to rank the game's top defensive tackles. Dexter Lawrence II landed atop the list. It isn't often that we hear the Giants being complimented, but this one is on time for fans of the G-Men. "I thought he should have been (Defensive Player of the Year) with the season he had. He's a true zero-technique nose who can occupy doubles and neutralize the run game. I think he took his pass rush to a different level, and I think he would have had double-digit sacks if (Brian) Burns and (Kayvon) Thibodeaux stayed healthy. A true three-down game wrecker who needs attention every single snap." Those were the words of an unnamed NFL executive. It's been a long time since we heard the Giants were the best at something, but this isn't any fluke. Lawrence could very well be the best in the game. And, Fowler probably sums this up best. In the past, the knock on Lawrence was that he missed too many near-sacks... No longer." Fowler continues... "Lawrence racked up quarterback takedowns while facing a 74.5% double-team rate, higher than any other interior lineman. The Giants saw him improve his ability to transition off blocks, be great on the move and finish takedowns... The Giants will need to scheme Lawrence to keep four hands off him. Adding Abdul Carter to an already good defensive line will help." Advertisement Born Vincent Timothy Rooney, Jr., the son of Art Rooney Sr.'s younger brother, Tim Rooney was a member of the Steelers front office from 1972-79, joining a front office scouting department that consisted only of Dick Haley, Art Rooney Jr. and Bill Nunn. Tim Rooney had been a college coach at Villanova, and Chuck Noll envisioned him as an advanced NFL scout that could attend the games of upcoming opponents, and also serve as a pro scout for free agency. 'Noll and Haley talked about the need to start up a pro personnel department,' Rooney said in 2020. 'They wanted to be out in front of free agency – they anticipated it and wanted to be the first team to have scouts ready in advance for it. They anticipated that need.'
