Three pose as CBI officers to loot jewelery, cash worth lakhs from Delhi businessman
The three were held after a week-long operation that took Delhi Police teams to Haridwar and Mussoorie, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) Raja Banthia said.
According to police, the 22-year-old woman is a distant relative of the victim and was aware of the cash and jewellery kept at his Wazirabad house.
She roped in Keshav Prasad, 28, who runs a food supplement store in Haridwar, and Vivek Singh, 20, an unemployed student from Delhi's Johripur area, to hatch the plan.
"On the evening of July 10, the trio knocked on the door of the complainant's house. Dressed in white shirts and black trousers with masks covering their faces, they introduced themselves as CBI officials from the Okhla branch," said the DCP.
They claimed to be acting on an FIR and said that they had a warrant to search the house.
When the family asked to see the document, they trio rebuked them and demanded cooperation.

BJP MP seeks FIR against Mamata over ‘torture' video post: ‘Bid to malign Delhi Police, incite public discontent'
A day after Delhi Police rejected the claims that a migrant woman from West Bengal and her one-and-a-half-year-old child were 'assaulted and tortured' by policemen in East Delhi, BJP MP from Kanthi has demanded that an FIR be registered against Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who had posted the video on her X handle. BJP MP Soumendu Adhikari, in a complaint to the Cyber Crime Branch of the Delhi Police, alleged that West Bengal chief minister deliberately disseminated a 'false, fabricated, and communally charged video' with the intent to malign the image of the Delhi Police and incite public discontent. Soumendu Adhikari is the brother of the Leader Of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly, Suvendu Adhikari. On July 27, TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee posted a video on her X handle and alleged that a Bengali-speaking woman and her child were brutally assaulted by personnel of the Delhi Police in the name of Aadhaar verification. 'Atrocious!! Terrible!!. See how Delhi police brutally beat up a kid and his mother, members of a migrant family from Malda's Chanchal. See how even a child is not spared from the cruelty of violence in the regime of linguistic terror unleashed by the BJP in the country against the Bengalis,' Mamata had posted. A day later, DCP East Delhi, Abhishek Dhania, told mediapersons that the woman in the video had retracted her claims when questioned by police. Referring to Dhania's press conference and the claims made by the police, the BJP MP wrote that 'the intention behind making the video was to create a false narrative and circulate it on social media for political and defamatory purposes.' 'The actions of Mamata Banerjee, in knowingly or recklessly disseminating unverified, provocative and false content, constitute grave offences,' the MP said, demanding a detailed investigation to identify a 'wider conspiracy', and appropriate penal action against the chief minister. The family of the woman, said to be in the video, has, however, stuck with their allegations against the Delhi Police. According to the woman's father-in-law, the family has been staying in Delhi for the past six years and hails from Malda. Meanwhile, relatives of the family in Chanchal, in West Bengal's Malda district, lodged a complaint with the local police on Sunday night. Bengal BJP slams TMC over child attack video ‘plot'
1 2 Kolkata: A day after Delhi Police refuted charges of a toddler and his mother being harassed in the capital, Bengal BJP on Tuesday hit out at Trinamool's "plot to further its political agenda". "It is unfortunate that Delhi Police is refuting the post made by the chief minister. It was a very weak script by Trinamool to malign others in the name of attack on Bengali migrant workers. This video clearly states that the allegations of harassment of Bengali migrant workers are fabricated," Bengal BJP president Samik Bhattacharya said. BJP's Bengal minder Amit Malviya, in a post on X, tried to link infiltration in Bengal with "foreign-funded lobbies and NGOs hostile to India". While charging govt with "enabling infiltration of illegal Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingya", Malviya said the state machinery was "shielding them for vote-bank politics". Banerjee, in her post, had alleged that the kid was beaten up by police. Meanwhile, alleging that Banerjee was attempting to "intimidate" booth level officers (BLOs), Adhikari on Tuesday urged EC to take cognizance of the matter and ensure the integrity of the electoral process. In a letter to CEC Gyanesh Kumar, Adhikari alleged that Banerjee had made public statements that constituted a "direct and unwarranted interference" in the duties of BLOs and the broader electoral framework overseen by the EC.

Complaint Against Mamata Banerjee For Post Alleging Delhi Cops Beat Up Woman
Kolkata: The BJP's Soumendu Adhikari - brother of Leader of the Opposition in Bengal assembly Suvendu Adhikari -- has filed a complaint with the Delhi Police, accusing Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of spreading fake news on social media. The Lok Sabha member from Kanthi has accused her of disseminating provocative content to spark discontent and disharmony. The trigger was Ms Banerjee's recent claims of police brutality on a Bengali-speaking woman and her child. The Chief Minister and her Trinamool Congress are claiming that Bengali speaking people - especially migrant workers - are being discriminated against and are facing violence in other states. In his complaint, Mr Adhikari said Ms Banerjee was spreading "false, fabricated and communally charged content via her official social media handle, with the intent to malign the image of the Delhi Police, provoke public discontent, and stoke inter-community disharmony". After the Delhi Police said Ms Banerjee's claim was a "complete fabrication", the Chief Minister hit back. On Tuesday, addressing a government event in Birbhum district, she said the mother and child were "taken to police stations one after another" -- just as she had predicted. "I told you yesterday in the meeting. Check the records. I told you that they will be threatened. That is what happened. We will ask them (the victims) to return. And it will be proven who is true and who is false," she added. In the video posted on social media on Monday, Ms Banerjee had alleged that the Delhi Police had brutally beaten up the mother and child. The migrant worker family had gone to work in Delhi. He said the woman, Sanjanu Parveen, had claimed that on Saturday, four plainclothes policemen had come to their house, took them to a secluded area, beat them up and extorted Rs 25,000 from them. "Understanding the seriousness of the situation, we formed multiple teams since last night. Based on technical and local intelligence, as well as CCTV footage, we have gathered various evidence. Based on that evidence, we found out that the whole story told by this lady is baseless... During the interrogation, she mentioned that her relative, who lives in the Malda district of West Bengal, is a political worker, and on his request, she made this baseless video and shared it with him," the officer told reporters.
