YSRCP's allegations are baseless: TDP
TDP Anantapur district president Venkatasivudu Yadav on Saturday (June 28) said YSRCP leaders are levelling baseless allegations against the NDA government because they are unable to digest the fact that poll promises are being fulfilled.
Speaking to media persons here, Mr. Venkatasivudu Yadav said the YSRCP leaders are trying to divert the attention of the people from the scams and scandals of the previous government that are coming to light in the past one year. 'The YSRCP leaders should stop their propaganda against the government,' he said.
Listing the various welfare programmes by the government, he said the government is extending 'Talliki Vandanam' to every child of the eligible beneficiary families and will implement the 'Annadata Sukhibhava' from July. He said the government increased the social security pensions and had also issued DSC notification to fill 16,347 vacancies. 'The government will soon launch the free bus ride to women scheme also,' he said.
Mr. Venkatasivudu said the government repaired 20,000 km of roads at ₹1,200 crore since coming to power with an aim to make the State pothole free. On the development front, the government brought ₹4.95 lakh crore investments to the State, providing jobs to 4.50 lakh people.

TDP top brass promises swift resolution of grievances
VIJAYAWADA: The TDP Central Office witnessed a flood of complaints during a public grievance redressal programme on Saturday, with petitioners raising issues of land disputes, financial fraud, and other injustices. TDP State president Palla Srinivasa Rao, Government Chief Whip Panchumarti Anuradha, Revenue Minister Anagani Satya Prasad, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, former MLC Ashok Babu, and Khadi Rural Industries Board chairman KK Choudhary received the petitions and assured prompt action. A petitioner alleged that associates of Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy: Adapa Prem Chand, Guthula Avinash, and K Balareddy, defrauded him of Rs 1.2 crore by promising a medical seat for his son and later threatened him. Another petitioner from Pesarlanka in Bapatla district said a deceased person's identity was misused in 2019 to forge an Aadhaar card and sell their land. A woman from Kakinada accused YSRCP supporters of murdering her husband, a TDP worker, naming Narreddy Ravindra Reddy, Talari Bogadanna, and Belukuri Raju as the culprits. Other grievances included unpaid dues from Sai Kiran Hybrid Seeds, land encroachment by a former YSRCP sarpanch in Kurnool, and a mother from Guntur seeking a probe into her son's alleged murder, disguised as an accident. Anchena Nagalakshmi from Tenali accused officials and YSRCP leaders of colluding to forge land registrations. TDP leaders reiterated their commitment to public welfare.

Maya: BSP to protest if Constitution tampered
Lucknow: Opposing the demand for removal of words 'socialist' and 'secular' from the Preamble, (BSP) president on Saturday said that the words used in the Constitution reflect the soul of the country and there should be no tampering with it. BSP's advice to parties trying to do so is that it would be extremely inappropriate to tamper with the provisions and humanitarian objectives of the Constitution," Mayawati said. "BSP is now getting a feeling that it will have to raise its voice against such attempts nationally if parties do not change their anti-Constitutional face soon. If any party tries to alter the Constitution, BSP will not sit back and watch. We will hit the streets in protest," Mayawati said. "Earlier it was the Congress govt at the Centre, and now the BJP-led NDA govt is not following the Constitution in the interest of the people and country. Both the parties and their supporters made unnecessary changes in the Constitution driven by their ideologies, principles, and political interests, which is strongly denounced by BSP," she said, adding that both the parties were on the same page when it came to amending the Constitution. She added that politics was being done in the name of languages which was not in the interest of people and the country. Mayawati demanded that the Election Commission should dispel the doubts being raised over the voters' list and make its stand clear. "Caste frenzy, clash, and violence in religious programmes at several places in the country, and torture and exploitation of Dalits and people from neglected sections is not good. "I passed necessary directions in the matter in the all-India meetings convened in Delhi on Jan 29 and May 18, and in Lucknow on March 2," the BSP president said.

On Nitish turf, Chirag set to sharpen ‘new leadership' pitch, step up ‘Bahujan outreach'
Barely three weeks after Union minister Chirag Paswan stirred Bihar politics by announcing that he would contest in the upcoming state Assembly polls, the LJP (Ram Vilas) president is going to step up pressure on ally JD (U) by holding a rally in Rajgir – in Nalanda district, the home turf of Chief Minister and JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar – on Sunday. The LJP (RV) has dubbed its Rajgir meeting 'Bahujan sankalp samagam', where Chirag would focus on 'Bahujan' and 'nav netritva' (new leadership) in a bid to expand his party's base beyond Paswans – the Scheduled Caste (SC) group to which he belongs – to other Bahujan communities. While both Nitish and Chirag are key allies of the BJP-led NDA, their relations have been strained, with the LJP(RV) chief now positioning himself for a larger role in Bihar politics. For the last couple of months, the LJP (RV) has engaged in posturings in what has been seen as its bid to get a sizeable number of seats to contest in the Assembly polls due in October-November this year. While senior partners, BJP and JD(U), are likely to contest from about 100 seats each in the elections to the 243-member House, the LJP (RV) and other junior NDA allies – including Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and former Union minister Upendra Kushwaha's Rashtriya Lok Morcha – have also been attempting to claim larger shares in seat-sharing. In the Lok Sabha polls, the LJP(RV) had won five seats out of five it was allotted by the NDA out of the state's 40 seats. For the Assembly polls, the NDA leadership has yet to kickstart the seat-sharing negotiations among its allies. Chirag, 42, now clearly seems to be looking to take centrestage in Bihar politics with his party calling for a 'new leadership' in the state. At the LJP(RV)'s June 8 rally in Arah, Chirag had announced that he would contest the 'Assembly polls from any seat people would want him to contest from'. At the Rajgir meeting, he is expected to push for 'Bihar's leadership for Bahujans', especially for the SCs which account for 19.65% of the state's population. Paswans make up about 5.33% of the state's population. The LJP (RV)'s Jamui MP Arun Bharti, who is also Chirag's brother-in-law, said, in a social media post, on the eve of the Rajgir event: 'Though Bahujan samaj has a huge population, it has been kept out from leadership role. The social group which is the biggest was shown/ treated as the smallest one. But, not any longer. From land of Rajgir, we are going to make an important announcement – Bahujan will no longer be a crowd but a voice. They will not just vote but lead. Bahujam Sankalp Samagam is not a cultural event but a political clarion call. We are gathering at Rajgir to fight on our terms, choose our leadership. Our leader will be Chirag Paswan.' Of late, Chirag has entrusted Bharti to play a major role in his party for working out its poll strategies. After the LJP(RV) chief's decision to take the plunge in the Assembly polls, RJD leader and Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav asked him to clear the air if he 'wanted to become Bihar CM'. 'Let him (Chirag) say it clearly, it will give clarity to NDA and INDIA bloc,' Tejashwi said. An LJP (RV) leader told The Indian Express: 'As of now, we are engaging in intense posturings to get a good number of seats for the upcoming polls. We also want winnable seats. With five MPs, we are the BJP's third most important NDA ally at the Centre. If a party like HAM (S) with one MP can ask for 40 seats, how many should we ask for with that calculation'. In the 2020 Assembly polls in which the then undivided LJP had contested alone, the party had got 5.66% votes while winning just one seat. On the LJP(RV)'s 'Bahujan outreach and new leadership call', another party leader said: 'Bihar politics has been undergoing a churn and a new political order will emerge sooner or later. Chirag will play a key role in that process, more so with Nitish Kumar seen to be walking into the sunset of his long political innings.'
