Bipasha Basu Hits Back At Trolls Mocking Her Post-Partum Look, Husband Karan REACTS: 'Women Are Gods'

Actor Bipasha Basu faced trolling for her recent looks.
Celebrities are often seen as symbols of perfection — their looks constantly watched, praised, and sometimes unfairly idealised. These unrealistic beauty standards create pressure not just for stars to look a certain way, but also for everyday people who try to follow those same ideals. But when celebrities show signs of ageing or look more natural and human, they're often judged or trolled instead of being accepted with kindness.
Something similar happened recently with actor Bipasha Basu. A popular Instagram page posted a side-by-side collage of Bipasha from her earlier years and a more recent photo, accompanied by the lyrics of 'Night Changes" — a not-so-subtle commentary on how her appearance has transformed over time. The intent was clear: to highlight the 'before and after" in a mocking way.
While many social media users quickly called out the post for being shallow and insensitive, it was former Miss India and beauty influencer Shweta Vijay Nair who addressed the issue with real substance. She posted a video on Instagram talking about how drastically a woman's body, life, and priorities change after giving birth — and how society still clings to outdated expectations. Shweta passionately spoke about the emotional and physical toll motherhood can take, and how women are forced to juggle numerous roles while silently enduring scrutiny for simply looking human.
Bipasha Basu acknowledged the support in the comments, expressing gratitude for the message. Her husband, actor Karan Singh Grover, also reacted in solidarity, making it clear that love and strength always speak louder than trolls.
She wrote, 'Thank you for your clear words Hope the human race does not remain so shallow and so low forever… and they encouarge and applaud women for the million roles they play each day. I am a super confident woman with a very evolved loving partner and family. Memes and trolls do not define me ever… nor did they make me who i am. But these are deeply disturbing reflections of the society towards women. Another woman in my place could be deeply affected and scarred with the viciousness. Anyways if we have more strong voices and atleast women understanding and applauding women for who they are then women will rise higher and higher 🙂 We are unstoppable ladies."
Karan Singh Grover also reacted to it in the comments section. 'We should be putting all the women we know and love on a pedestal and praying to them. They are the gods/goddesses we should pray to. In fact I believe that god/ source is a feminine energy. Nothing else could have created something as beautiful as life. You give us life. You are our gods."
Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover tied the knot in 2016, and six years later, on November 12, 2022, they welcomed their daughter Devi Basu Singh Grover.

I feel bad for you that you married a dark-skinned person. You destroyed your life by moving to India. Too bad your kids aren't white like you."
