Lucknow: Acting on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, 'Team 11' constituted to expedite flood relief operations across the state hit the 'ground zero' on Sunday.
A govt spokesperson said that the CM is closely monitoring the flood situation and issuing timely directives to ensure effective relief efforts while state ministers were inspecting affected areas.
"Committed to the principle of 'Govt to Every Victim', the CM has directed that support must reach every affected individual. Rescue operations by SDRF, NDRF, and PAC are underway, with local administrations ensuring round-the-clock coordination on the ground," the spokesperson said.
Relief commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami said that floods had affected 37 tehsils and 402 villages, affecting 84,392 people of whom 47,906 had already received assistance, and 2,759 animals had been shifted to safer locations.
The CM told the ministers and officials concerned that it was time for empathy, vigilance, and public service, adding that every govt official and resource was fully committed to standing with the people in the hour of need.

In Prayagraj, one of the worst hit districts, cabinet minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi' reached relief camps, distributed aid, and reviewed the flood situation by boat. Floodwaters have already inundated over 62 localities, affecting thousands of people. While over 6,000 people from 1,300 families have been shifted to flood relief camps so far, the water level of the twin rivers, Ganga and Yamuna, continued to rise on Sunday, with both rivers flowing around one metre above the danger mark.
MLA and former minister Dr Neelkanth Tiwari delivered relief material to flood-affected families in Konia and Rajghat areas of Varanasi by boat and on foot. He asked officials to maintain availability of milk, fruits, tea, and other necessities.
In Varanasi, the overflowing Ganga was flowing half a metre above the danger mark of 71.26 metres, starting to enter the city areas through many ghats and affecting life in over 60 villages and urban localities, especially along the river Varuna and in the Ganga stream.

He instructed officials to maintain the highest standards of efficiency, ensuring uninterrupted supply of clean drinking water, food, medical care, electricity, and hygiene within the camps.
Minister of state (independent charge) Dharmveer Prajapati visited flood-affected villages in Etawah, reaching submerged areas by boat and engaging with residents.
In Ballia, minister of state (independent charge) Dayashankar Mishra 'Dayalu' surveyed flood-prone areas along the Ganga. Minister of state Sanjay Gangwar visited relief camps in Jalaun and issued directives to prevent the spread of waterborne diseases.
