Saturday brought the Eco Fashion Awards and Fashion Showcase, which took place at Ida's Bar & Event Space. The evening highlighted 13 conscious brands and recognised individuals and brands making an impact through eight award categories. Co-hosted by Anna Shatilova and Jacqui Hocking, the night opened with a beautiful acapella performance by Jillian Summers. As Anna Shatilova noted, 'Eco Fashion Weekend is not just about what we wear; it's about how we live, lead, and what we choose to purchase to create a better future together.'
On Sunday, the weekend wrapped up with the Mindful Stitching workshop, a hands-on experience designed to foster a love for conscious fashion through slow, meditative stitching. Participants were encouraged to connect with the art of creating, reflecting on the materials and practices that make fashion both meaningful and sustainable.
Throughout the weekend, the theme Safe Place, Safe Space resonated deeply. It underscored fashion's potential to promote inclusivity, environmental stewardship, and collective empowerment, offering a glimpse into the future of fashion where sustainability and human connection take centre stage. The heart of Eco Fashion Weekend 2025 was undeniably the awards ceremony and runway showcase at Ida's Bar & Event Space. As the evening continued, the spotlight shifted to the changemakers who are pushing the boundaries of sustainable fashion. The awards celebrated those whose impact reaches beyond their designs. The Social Space was recognised as the Sustainable Fashion Multi-label Retailer of the Year, while Zerrin was honoured for its Creative Direction Excellence and Media Platform of the Year. Lizzy Homersham's influence as an Ethical Content Creator earned her well-deserved recognition, and Purnama Outreach's commitment to community empowerment through fashion was celebrated. Cloop's innovation in sustainable alternatives made it a standout winner, while the NEA's advocacy for sustainable fashion earned them the Sustainable Fashion Advocate Award. And once again, Sui captured the People's Choice Award for Sustainable Fashion Brand of the Year—marking a second consecutive win and cementing their place as a true leader in the space. @ecofashionweekendsg

On Sunday, the event wrapped up with Mindful Stitching, a workshop hosted by Sew On And Sow Forth at Crane OUE Downtown Gallery. Participants unplugged, stitched by hand, and reflected on fashion's emotional and environmental dimensions. It was a craft session embodying the core values of slow fashion, intentionality, and community that stitched the message home: sustainability begins with mindfulness.

Majulah Cinema! The Projector celebrates SG60 with a showcase featuring the works of five local film-makers and the movies that have had an impact on them. Among them is K. Rajagopal's A Yellow Bird, which follows a former convict searching for his ex-wife and estranged daughter. The film made its Cannes debut at the 2016 International Critics' Week, a parallel section of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. The film Rajagopal curated is British film-maker Mike Leigh's 1993 award-winning black comedy Naked. Singapore International Film Festival Audience Choice award-winning director Quen Wong will present her 2021 documentary Some Women, followed by a question-and-answer session after the screening. Wong's choice of film, He's A Woman, She's A Man (1994), will delight fans of the late Hong Kong legend Leslie Cheung. In exchange for his life, Mu-jin is forced into a contract with a deity who expects him to seek justice for the wrongfully dead due to corrupt employers and unjust labour laws. Assisting Mu-jin in avenging the dead are his sister-in-law Hui-joo (Seol In-ah) and her tech-savvy admirer Gyeon-u (Cha Hak-yeon). Driving the 10-episode series are the chemistry between the trio and the cases inspired by real-life South Korean labour injustice. For instance, an episode revolves around the exploitation and bullying of migrant workers, while another case involves Mu-jin seeking to shed light on the death of a young factory worker caused by the negligence of senior staff. There is also a tragic fatal workplace accident that is the result of a corporation cutting corners. Though steeped in supernatural elements, Oh My Ghost Clients is more a dramedy than a horror or thriller.

Hosted by Gurmit Singh, Nithiya Rao, Yasminne Cheng and Zhin Sadali, the show will also feature a performance by second Singapore Idol winner Hady Mirza. He will perform the concert's theme song, Ties That Bloom, which he composed. Sisters Tay Kewei and Tay Kexin will perform together for the first time. The line-up features stalwarts of the live music scene, many of whom had their early gigs at Timbre. These include Jack & Rai, who will reunite with their band EIC, reggae veterans Bushmen and singer-songwriter Awi Rafael. Timbre started out as a live music bar at The Substation in 2005 and, over the years, grew to become a food and beverage and lifestyle chain. Low is also marking his 35th year in music with this performance. One of the most celebrated names in the local alternative music scene, Low is known for his past work with acclaimed bands such as Humpback Oak and The Observatory. The set list in this 80-minute show will comprise songs from his solo discography, which includes his first album A Walking Purgatory (1999) and his latest release, Chimera (2024). Who: Inderpal Singh is the winner of the fourth season of MasterChef Singapore (2023), a local Mediacorp reality cooking competition based on the original British show MasterChef (1990 to present). T he 36-year-old former accountant was a home-based F&B business owner for 2½ years, when he sold six-course meals to customers that included butter chicken and chapati. After MasterChef Singapore, he worked at Australian-style wood-fired restaurant Burnt Ends for around six months as its chef de partie. The Singaporean opened his r estaurant, Meh'r by Inderpal, in January. The rooftop eater y i n South Bridge Road serves modern interpretations of South-east Asian fare. On Saturday evenings until Aug 9, Meh'r is offering a SG60 Free-Flow Satay Buffet for $58 a person. Against a backdrop of the National Day Parade fireworks, the 90-minute buffet features a selection of all-you-can-eat skewers alongside a la carte dishes and drinks. Meh'r is closed on Sundays and Mondays. He is married to Ms Sandhya Kaur, 34, who works in tech. The couple have a three-year-old daughter. 'On Sunday mornings, we typically get ready and then head to the temple for some prayers, before visiting either my parents or in-laws to have teh tarik and unwind . A cup of tea usually takes me away and allows me to disconnect from the world. I love eating home-cooked food at my in-laws' place, with ayam penyet being my guilty pleasure. I spend time with my wife too. Despite seeing each other daily, it is usually a rush, so the weekends give us some time to reconnect. I also have tea with people I love or have not connected with in a while. I also love watching, rewatching and reading everything about the Star Wars film franchise (1977 to present). On Mondays, I send my wife to work and daughter to school in the morning before having some time to myself. I usually head to Johor Bahru to get a massage, do some shopping or indulge in some delicious food. I also love the zoo, and it has been my go-to spot since I was a kid. When I was young, my mum started the tradition of taking me there on special occasions like my birthday. Now that I am older, this has translated to me taking my daughter there monthly. '
