On the July 28 episode, Floyd's character, Chance Chancellor, was tragically shot and killed while rescuing Cane's wife (Christel Khalil) from Aristotle Dumas' assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba). Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The 32-year-old actor marked the end of his four-year run with a heartfelt Instagram post, sharing behind-the-scenes moments set to the Beastie Boys' 'B-Boys Makin' With The Freak Freak.' 'It's been real GC. What a ride. I have truly been blessed to call myself a citizen of Genoa City. To share the stage with so many talented and hardworking actors, creatives, and crew members. Chance will always have a close place in my heart. He's taught me a lot, and I'll miss him dearly. It's been an absolute honor to represent the Chancellor legacy. Detective Chancellor, over and out,' Floyd wrote. Reflecting on the emotional exit in an interview with TV Insider, Floyd said: 'As sad as it is, I think that's how Chance would want to go out.
