Families enjoy a fantastic day at annual children's gala day in Armadale
Thousands of residents lined the streets to enjoy the annual Armadale Children's Gala Day on Saturday.
The gala day first took place 125 years ago and is always a very special day in the town's calendar each year.
Generation after generation have taken part in fantastic days over the decades since 1900 and this year didn't disappoint, with the good weather ensuring there was no chance of a washout.
Hundreds of young people from the town took part in the procession at the event that is traditionally held on the third Saturday of June.
Over 30 streets had houses decorated in different themes especially for the gala day. First place winners were situated in Dalyell Place, Drove Road, Shaw Avenue, and Southdale Avenue.
A civic week precedes the gala with events including, a sports night, a quiz night, Party in the Park, a cabaret for over-50s, and the night before the big day is the highly anticipated Proclamation of Queen-elect.
And at Saturday's parade there were special cheers for this year's Queen of Hearts, Molly, as she made her way through the streets.
The gala committee thanked the local community via Facebook: "Big thanks again to everyone who helped and supported us, we have a truly amazing community.
"Bathgate & Blackridge Committee for judging our houses, fancy dress and lorries. We are always happy to return the favour.
"All the businesses and individuals who donated water - this was a really kind gesture and we were blown away with how kind our community is."
Sadly, the committee is now faced a bill that could amount to around £2,500 after a marquee erected was targeted by vandals, it was daubed in graffiti and sustained fire damage. This could result in the marquee not being there next year. Portable toilets were also left damaged.

Molly-Mae's 'incredibly chic' sunglasses are surprisingly affordable and still in stock
Molly-Mae fans have been calling her recent holiday looks 'perfection', and we've found exactly where to shop her 'incredibly chic' sunglasses Molly-Mae has cemented herself as a style icon in recent years thanks to her stint as Creative Director at Pretty Little Thing and, more recently, with the launch of her own clothing brand, Maebe. And it's no surprise that when Molly posts a certain item to her Instagram, it usually sells out, aptly named the ' Molly-Mae effect'. So we were shocked to find that Molly's chic sunglasses from her most recent Instagram post are still in stock, and even better they're reasonably affordable. The sunglasses, named the Outta Love sunglasses, hail from the cool-girl French eyewear brand Le Specs. Priced at £55, they are pretty wallet-friendly compared to Molly's previously worn £300 to £400 YSL and Gucci specs. Designed with a sleek, minimal '90s look, these sunglasses feature a slimline oval silhouette, with signature Le Specs gold hardware on the legs, and smoke mono black lenses. The Outta Love shape has been specifically designed for narrower face shapes thanks to their smaller, petite fit. Molly isn't the only fan of these specs, with major celebs like Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid and Olivia Rodrigo having worn them before. With over 800 glowing reviews, shoppers also can't get enough of these retro sunnies. One shopper raved: "These sunglasses are not only incredibly chic, but the polarized lenses really help my eyes feel protected and safe! I lost my first pair while hiking and loved them so much I re-ordered a second pair as soon as I had cell signal again!" A second added: "Absolutely love these glasses. They make any outfit look effortlessly cool and elevated." One shopper wasn't as impressed, writing: "Too petite for my face". If you're not a fan of this particular shape, we've found a lookalike pair of Molly-Mae's sold-out YSL sunglasses. The pair in question are the Oversized Square Retro Style Sunglasses from & Other Stories. Priced at £27, this similar-looking pair is more than £300 more affordable than Molly's one. Another favourite sunglass brand of Molly-Mae's is Vehla, who also have a similar alternative to the sold-out Saint Laurent pair. The Dixie Sunglasses are on the pricier side at £170, but are a go-to brand for so many celebrities thanks to their quality, fit and unique styles.

Molly-Mae Hague shares latest holiday snap after complaining over summer plans
Love Island's Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are enjoying a sumemr holiday to Turkey with their daughter Bambi and fans have been kept updated in posts this weekend Former Love Island finalists Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury are enjoying a trip abroad with their daughter Bambi. They have shared updates from their latest holiday after Molly-Mae expressed concern over her summer plans. Molly-Mae, 26, and Tommy, also 26, flew out to Turkey with toddler Bambi, two, recently. The couple have since posted about staying at the coastal resort Regnum The Crown on the vacation, with them giving their fans an insight into the trip in content shared on social media this weekend. They have been seen enjoying each other's company at the location and taking Bambi to a waterpark on the holiday. It comes after Helen Skelton and Gethin Jones split as he joins a notorious dating app on a lads' holiday. READ MORE: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry set for new 'goldmine' offer - but could face issue This afternoon, Molly-Mae shared a photo of Bambi sat with Tommy, who had his eyes closed, on a plane. She teased in the caption that was included on the post on her Instagram Story earlier today: "Sleep about to abruptly end." Tommy also shared a photo from the flight that showed Bambi on Molly-Mae's lap. He wrote: "Quality time incoming." Then over a photo of him and Bambi at an airport, he said: "Excited to be somewhere I haven't visited before." He's since shared updates from their hotel resort, including teasing that he was "staying on plan" when it came to meals. Tommy also uploaded a photo of himself in a gym, with the boxer seen smiling whilst posing for a selfie in a mirror. Following their arrival at the destination, Molly-Mae shared a photo of Tommy and Bambi cuddled up in bed together. She later shared a photo of them lying together on a sun lounger at a water park and told fans: "My favourite view." Molly-Mae also shared a photo of herself and Bambi at Aqualantis, with them seen on a slide together. Tommy later uploaded footage of the pair on a different slide, with them seen splashing into the water together in his video. The updates from the family's holiday comes after Molly-Mae was seen in tears in a recent vlog following a backlash. She addressed the suggestion that she's "out of touch" after complaining about struggling with parenting lately, including saying she was found a recent motorhome holiday challenging. She told fans in the video: "I feel like I need to keep my camera running all day so you guys like actually just see ... it's like every single thing is a huge problem. Like [Bambi is] screams and can't even get like socks and shoes on." Addressing potential critics of her vlogs, Molly-Mae added: "I don't care who tells me I'm out of touch with reality or like all this stuff that's going on on TikTok at the minute." She said: "I don't care like I'm not gonna not talk about it." The update came after she was met with criticism after complaining that she hadn't done anything "fun" over the summer. She said in a vlog uploaded last month: "I said to someone the other day, right, that I am gonna make it to the end of summer [having] not done one fun thing." She added: "I haven't socialised once. [...] I haven't done one social, fun thing. I haven't a life. I haven't a life. Oh, it's not good is it? Like I am literally ... summer will end and I won't have done one fun social thing." She gave an example as going out with a friend and their children for the day. Some people however pointed out that in recent weeks Molly had been to Wimbledon and on the motorhome holiday to the Isle of Man, for example.

Molly-Mae Hague 'can't understand what she's done wrong' amid 'fall from grace'
EXCLUSIVE: Molly Mae has had a tough few weeks after being trolled for being 'out of touch' and now a PR expert has claimed that the Love Island star could be losing her 'golden girl' status Molly-Mae Hague broke down in tears last week after being slammed, yet again, for being 'out of touch' by fans. Now, a pr expert tells OK! that they believe the golden girl's popularity is on the wane and her star power could 'all be over'. The 26-year-old, one of Love Island 's biggest success stories with an estimated net worth of £6m, had claimed on of her vlogs that she's done 'nothing fun this summer, despite taking several lavish holidays posted on social media. Most recently, she headed off on a family trip in her £86K motorhome, after which she confessed she felt 'overwhelmed' and had a 'breakdown', when her daughter Bambi, 2, who she shares with partner Tommy Fury, was overtired and screaming for hours. While some sympathised with the challenges of travelling with a little one, others were quick to criticise Molly-Mae for complaining, pointing out her affluent lifestyle and frequent luxury vacations, labelling the influencer and entrepreneur 'tone deaf'. Our mole claims that such posts really upset the mum-of-one, and the negativity can bring her down. 'She does get upset that she's constantly in the firing line from the public, but she also doesn't understand why because she doesn't feel like she's done anything wrong. She works hard and is proud of what she's achieved.' The mum-of-one hit headlines recently when she complained in a YouTube video that she hadn't done anything fun over the summer months. 'I said to a friend the other day, that I'm going to make it to the end of summer having not done one fun thing,' she said to camera. 'I haven't a life. That's not good is it. Summer will end and I've not done one fun social thing.' Some fans, however, were quick to point out several of Molly's outings this year; including trips to Dubai, a holiday to Disneyland, a city break to Budapest, their recent motorhome holiday to the Isle Of Man and attendance at high profile events such as Wimbledon, before which she spent thousands of pounds at Christian Dior to wear to the tennis tournament. Hitting back at the trolling she has received in a recent video, Molly claimed that she 'doesn't' care' about the backlash, but said it does make her 'nervous' to talk openly with fans. 'I don't care who tells me I am out of touch with reality or all this stuff that's going on on TikTok at the minute, I don't care I'm not going to not talk about it. 'I feel like I don't want to talk about anything controversial anymore because in the last video I said some things I probably could have worded better and even with all the motherhood things I'm talking about at the minute, it's just a lot.' Never one to shy away from her struggles, Molly has admitted to having a tough time with Bambi in recent months. She said in one YouTube video, 'I'm having one of those toddler mum days, where I question, 'am I actually cut out for this?' 'Every single thing I try and ask her to do, she will not listen to me... She hasn't eaten in like three days because she is refusing to eat. I'm finding it really hard.' Adding that Tommy seems to take parenting more in his stride, Molly admitted that it's 'tough'. Speaking of the recent backlash, PR expert Lynn Carratt believes Molly Mae is definitely at risk losing her 'golden girl' status. She tells new: 'Some of the things that she's saying are coming across as out of touch with reality. "Molly was the sweet, girl next door on love island, and she had a true love story with Tommy which people really bought into and was very likeable. Men fancied her, girls wanted to be her. She came across as an inspiration. Now, she's flying all over the world on private jets and sadly, it's just not relatable anymore." Lynn continues: "In the last year or so, it seems like s he's been falling from grace - her days at the top of the showbiz pile could be over." "She shouldn't have to hide her lifestyle or money because she's earned it, but at the same time, we're in a cost of living crisis. People don't always want to see influencers flying across the world in private jets." 'It is really hard for Molly being a working mum, as it is for all working parents. And it is good that she's being open about her struggles. But she needs to really think about a PR strategy to bring fans back on side." Molly rose to prominence on Love Island in 2019, where she met Tommy Fury, also 26, and came second place with the boxer, whose brother is boxing star Tyson. After the show, she signed a major deal with e-retailer PrettyLittleThing, eventually becoming their creative director while working with brands like Beauty Works and creating her own fake tan business, Filter By Molly Mae. She then parted ways with PrettyLittleThing to build her own fashion brand, Maebe, launched last year. Now, she has a hit Amazon Prime docuseries currently filming for season two and resides in a multi-million pound home in Cheshire with her and Tommy's two-year-old daughter Bambi. The couple, who got engaged in July 2023, announced their shock split last summer, before getting back together earlier this year.
