Days of Our Lives Recap: Xander Catches Sarah and Brady in an Embrace

Days of Our Lives Recap: Xander Catches Sarah and Brady in an Embrace originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: Marlena and John's Penthouse: Marlena is on the sofa and thinks back to her dreams of being Stefano's queen of the night. She is staring at pictures of her and John when Brady and Rachel return from the movies. Marlena asks if she and her granddaughter can have a girl's night and Brady makes himself scarce. Once alone, Marlena says she has something important to talk to her granddaughter about. Rachel knows her grandmother wants to talk about Johnny's trial and Marlena tells her how important it is for her to tell the truth. Rachel notes her Uncle EJ wants her to lie but she knows she shouldn't listen to him. Marlena tells Rachel to tell the truth and all will be good. Rachel wonders, if Johnny didn't shoot Uncle EJ, who did? Marlena doesn't know but asks her granddaughter if there is anything she saw that night she hasn't told anyone. Rachel says she doesn't remember anything else from that night. Marlena says she is so sorry for everything and promises it will all turn out ok. Rachel worries if she tells the truth, Uncle EJ will hurt her Grandma Rachel. Marlena promises not to let anyone she loves be hurt. They both call the other fierce when Marlena gets a surprising call. University Hospital – Lobby: Xander says goodbye to Sarah and Victoria, and they give each other a longing stare. Sarah calls EJ and reports about the elevator outage. EJ can't imagine what he's supposed to do about it. Sarah says it's his hospital and needs to tend to it. EJ can't be bothered until tomorrow and Sarah can't believe this is where they are. DiMera Mansion: EJ calls to check in on Sydney (please cast Sydney… Avery Pohl, possibly?) when Gwen arrives on the scene. She says she had no clue Susan could speak to the dead. EJ thinks she better hope his mother can't really speak to the dead because Stefano wouldn't be terribly happy with her living in his home. After EJ hangs up with Sarah, Rita walks in saying she told him nickel and diming the hospital was going to piss folks off. She continues to berate him and then hands him the latest budget reports. EJ has a non-work-related question about his father. Rita says she misses Stefano's charm and quick wit. In fact, she feels his presence in this room so strongly. Her words strike him, and he asks Rita if she believes his father is truly gone. Rita thinks he's being silly as of course Stefano is dead. He explains about Susan feeling his presence and thinks he's still alive. As they didn't find the body… Rita can only say what Dr Rolf told her. Stefano survived Hope's bullet but died many years later in hiding. EJ heard the same story but wonders why his father never said goodbye nor came home. Rita says everyone has to die, even Stefano DiMera. Rita goes back to challenging EJ about pinching pennies at the hospital. He says he has a grand plan for the hospital that is yet to be revealed. She reminds him again about the elevator when EJ gets a call back from Sydney. University Hospital – Elevator: Chad and Cat are stuck. Chad begins to scream as he doesn't do well in small spaces. Cat thinks no one will be coming to get them any time soon as visiting hours are over, shift change is over, and the elevator has been janky all week (These two are simply adorable). Chad tries to jump up to the top to get out the top when Cat says it's an exercise in futility. She goes through all the reasons why his quest won't work. They take a seat, and Chad tries his best to harness his chi. Cat asks Chad about his testimony, and he says EJ thanked him for his testimony on the stand. They go back and forth until Chad tells Cat about Susan and how she believes Stefano is alive. They chat a bit more about Stefano and Chad says, if he was alive, Stefano would have reached out to his family. Cat asks if they were close and Chad continues her history lesson of the DiMera family. Cat and Chad get all kinds of adorable with each other when she admits she's glad not to be stuck in the elevator alone. The Bistro: Xander is chowing down when Gwen wanders up and joins him without an invitation. Gwen is a wee hurt when it appears Xander isn't enjoying their time together. She directly asks about him ditching her a few nights prior. Xander says Sarah doesn't give much of a damn what he does these days and mentions their impending separation. Gwen remembers how she and Xander had a whole lot of fun being naughty back in the day. She hates to see her ex moping around like a sad sack. Xander is done with the conversation and quickly makes his exit. Horton Square: A winded Sarah arrives and runs into Brady saying she had to carry Victoria down six flights of stairs because of the bum elevators. They get a wee adorable as they go back and forth and Brady thinks she deserves a reward. They agree to go have a drink together. Sarah orders a mocktail but says it's not because of Brady. They snark a bit about Xander keeping her from going to the Bahamas. Sarah can't complain because Xander has been somewhat lovely to her recently. They both agree co-parenting with someone with whom you are at odds is a nightmare. She doesn't want to make the same mistake with Victoria that Brady told her he and Kristen made with Rachel. Brady and Sarah grab some beverages and chat about their relationships. Sarah notes next week is her one-year wedding anniversary. She tears up when she says they were talking about having a second child but it wasn't meant to be. Days of Our Lives Recap: Rafe Gives Cat a DiMera Family History Lesson Endings Cat says she and Chad have been stuck for over an hour. She decides she wants to take a little nap but is a wee chilly. Chad takes off his jacket and Cat wraps it around her shoulders. Sarah decides it's time to get Victoria home and Brady apologizes for being a bit of a downer about her marriage to Xander. They share an embrace just in time for Xander and Gwen to see. Sydney tells EJ about her surgery. She says something about Samantha Gene before they hang up. Rita inquires and EJ says he got some interesting news about Sami. Marlena tells Rachel she was talking to Samantha Gene who is coming home the next day. After A Designer Refused To Work With Her Due To Her "Silence" On Palestine, Rosalía Responded

Spanish pop music superstar Rosalía responded after a designer said he'd refused to work with her over her lack of statement on Palestine. Last week, designer Miguel Adrover posted a screenshot seemingly between himself and a member of Rosalía's team, who was asking for a "custom look" for the artist. In the caption, he wrote, "Doing 'The Right Thing'….Silence is complicity, and even more so when you have a big loudspeaker where millions of people listen to you when you sing. That's why you have the responsibility to use this power to denounce this genocide. Rosalia, this is nothing personal. I admire you for all your talent and for everything you've achieved. And I think you are much more than those artists who only dedicate themselves to show business and entertainment. Now we have to do 'The Right Thing.'" Related: Yesterday, Rosalía herself responded via a series of Instagram stories, which can be translated to, "In today's world, we all live in constant contradiction — myself included. And although I personally always try to do 'the right thing,' I probably don't always succeed, but in the process I try to learn and improve." "Unfortunately, this text is not and will not be enough in a context of extreme violence like the one currently happening. That's why I want to end with deep respect and gratitude for the people who truly take action, like NGOs, activists, volunteers, healthcare workers, laborers, cooperatives, associations, and journalists who are dedicating their lives to helping with this cause and many others," she continued. Related: Emphasizing her "sadness" over what had been said, she continued, "The fact that I haven't used my platform in a way that aligns with others' styles or expectations absolutely does not mean that I don't condemn what is happening in Palestine. It's terrible to see, day after day, how innocent people are being murdered and how those who should be stopping it are not doing so." Related: "I don't see how shaming one another is the best way to move forward in the fight for Palestinian freedom. I believe the blame should be directed upwards (toward those who make decisions and have the power to act), not horizontally (among ourselves)," she concluded. The designer isn't the only one to have drawn a line regarding professional collaborations and comments on Palestine. Children's YouTuber Ms. Rachel recently wrote on Instagram, "To anyone asking to with work with me who hasn't spoken out about Gaza: Thank you for the request. I'm not comfortable working with anyone who hasn't spoken out about Gaza. Much love and God bless, Rachel." Related: After Israel cut off aid in March, mass starvation has taken hold in Gaza, with the UN saying that one in three people are now going without food for days at a time. UN Secretary-General António Guterres said, 'Palestinians in Gaza are enduring a humanitarian catastrophe of epic proportions. This is not a warning. It is a reality unfolding before our eyes.' Rachel Zegler Is Set to Return to 'Evita' After Leaving Mid-Show

Rachel Zegler's gig as the titular character in Jamie Lloyd's revival of Evita at the London Palladium has been all over our social feeds thanks to her stunning performances, but she made headlines for a different reason during her latest show. On July 24, the Cosmopolitan cover girl suddenly exited the stage mid-show as she had fallen ill. According to People, Rachel's departure was announced during intermission, and her understudy, Bella Brown, stepped into the role despite appearing as Perón's Mistress earlier in the night. After a 45-minute intermission, Bella transformed into Evita just in time for the Tony-winning musical's second act. A source in the audience told E! News, 'The interval lasted almost 40 to 45 minutes and then the balcony scene with Bella began. You would have thought the roof was going to cave in from the applause. Even more so when she entered on stage for the first time after the balcony scene.' She opened with the iconic number, 'Don't Cry for Me, Argentina,' marking her second time playing Eva Perón after she made her debut on July 14. In this production, Jamie Lloyd and Andrew Lloyd Webber pulled a page from his Sunset Blvd. book and takes the performance outdoors. At this point in the show, Eva sings to a crowd of Argentinians from the balcony of the Presidential Palace, which is actually the London Palladium's balcony IRL. Since Evita's opening night on July 1, the general public has swarmed the outside of the venue on Argyll Street to catch a glimpse of the stars in action. After Bella carried the rest of the show in Rachel's absence, she received a standing ovation that lasted nearly five minutes, and according to fans on social media, the cast had bowed 10 separate times during the curtain call. She expressed her appreciation for the cast, crew, and crowd with a series of Instagram Stories following the performance. 'Today really showed just how important swings and covers are within this industry,' the actress later wrote in an Instagram Story. 'They are pillars of a show!! A proud day to be at Evita.' In a separate post, she added, 'What a lucky audience getting to see both myself and MY ANGEL REG ZEG!!' While we hope Rachel has a speedy recovery, her rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that she is scheduled to return and perform Friday evening.
