Monster who knifed tragic Daniel, 14, to death and slashed at cops in terrifying sword rampage is jailed for life
A MONSTER who knifed a tragic 14-year-old boy to death and slashed at cops in a horrifying sword rampage has been jailed for life.
Marcus Arduini Monzo ambushed Daniel Anjorin on April 30 last year as he made his way to school in Hainault, East London.

The youngster suffered a "devastating and unsurvivable chopping injury" to his neck and face during the horror.
Monzo also tried to kill Yasmin Mechem-Whitfield, Henry De Los Rios Polina, Sindy Arias and Donato Iwule in the 20-minute attack.
The Brazilian "mystic" has now been jailed for life with a minimum of 40 years after he was found guilty of murder and three counts of attempted murder.
In a victim impact statement, Daniel's family said nobody should have to lose their child to such "savagery".
His dad Dr Ebenezer Anjorin also revealed the moment he discovered his son's body after he was attacked near their home.
He added: "I ran outside of the house, crossed the road and saw a hunched up body on the side of the road.
"I didn't know it was Daniel but as I got closer I recognised the school sports clothes.
"He was lying in a pool of blood and had a wound to his neck. He was motionless and I knew at once he was dead and lent down and held his head."
Dr Anjorin said Daniel's mum arrived soon after and began screaming when she saw the tragic youngster.
He also branded Monzo as "danger to society" and hit out at the killer for showing no remorse or apologising for the horror.
Moment 'killer' brands sword 'sexy' before he 'murdered, 14, boy in rampage'
The grieving sad said: "We cannot begin to describe the pain and anguish we as a family feel.
"Daniel was a much loved son and had two siblings with four years between all three.
"As a parent one of the most painful aspects is seeing the pain of Daniel's loss in our children's eyes- something we wouldn't wish on anyone.
"This was a completely random, unprovoked and savage attack on a schoolchild and people going about their business.
"The scale and savagery of this attack shocked the local community and the whole country."
Jurors heard Monzo killed, de-boned and skinned his own cat in a cannabis-induced psychosis before setting off on the rampage.
He believed he was in the "Hunger Games" and that he was being controlled by "evil lizard type aliens".
The killer had shown a warped interest in toxic influencer Andrew Tate and shared Incel posts online.
Monzo carried out the attack with "murderous intent" over a 20-minute period on April 30.

He was then filmed screaming as he ran from the sword attacker
Footage released by police shows Monzo "deliberately" smashing into Donato in his van.
As he was knocked into a garden, Monzo got out the van and slashed his neck with the Samurai sword.
The victim could then be seen running away screaming as the killer calmly followed him clutching the sword.
Donato managed to escape as emergency crews were scrambled to the residential street.
Meanwhile, Daniel was walking to school "minding his own business" when his life was "snuffed out in an instant".
The harrowing footage shows the attempts by brave officers to stop Monzo as Daniel lay gravely injured on the ground.
One officer yelled "drop it" but the so-called "mystic" replied: "Do you believe in God?"
He then fled through nearby gardens before being chased down an alleyway by PC Mechem-Whitfield.
The footage shows the brave cop approach Monzo, who then slashes at her with a sword as an officer yells "police officer stabbed".
He also stabs another cop in the arm as they desperately tried to block the sword with a baton.
Monzo then burst into a house to attack a couple in their bedroom as their child slept next to them.
He shouted out 'do you believe in God?' about four times then began to attack Henry De Los Rios Polania with the sword before attempting to stab his wife.
Jurors were told their lives were only spared because their child woke up and started to cry.

The court heard the "talented" martial artist spent nearly £1,000 on swords in December 2023 before cancelling the order.
He then bought two handmade Katana swords for £427.80 on February 21, 2024, with delivery coming through to his home in early April.
Footage showed Monzo branding a sword "freaking sexy" as he lunged around holding the weapon.
NHS systems were checked and revealed there were no documented mental health concerns or access to mental health services by Monzo.
But his brother Eduardo told the court Monzo had consumed ayahuasca – a hallucinogenic plant-based drink commonly used in South America – during a stay at a remote retreat in the Amazon.
Monzo's surviving victims speak of 'profound' effect horror had
Security guard Donato Iwule was run over by a van and then ran screaming for his life when Marcus Monzo came at him with a sword.
In a victim impact statement, he said: "The attack I endured has profoundly disrupted my life on every level, physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.
"I've had to manage physical pain, emotional trauma, anxiety - all from one violent and traumatic event.
"I am still in the process of healing - it has changed how I live, how I feel, and how I see the world around me."
Pc Yasmin Mechem-Whitfield was severely injured after being struck repeatedly with a sword by Monzo.
She said: "Since the 30th April 2024 the injuries I sustained during this incident have had a significant and permanent effect on my life which has taken away my independence."
She described facing "numerous challenges" in the wake of the attack, including struggling to dress one-handed, and preparing her hair.
She said: "I find this emotionally devastating every morning as I try to cover the scar and dent on the left side of my head.
"I no longer want to travel by myself or go out of the house without someone being with me. I have a fear of being attacked again and not being able to defend myself."
Sindy Arias was asleep with her then partner Henry De Los Rios Polania when Monzo burst into their room, with their young child nearby.
She said she suffered "deep, persistent fear" and although she was not physically hurt, the emotional consequences were profound.
"No other family or person should have to go through such a complex, painful and destabilising experience," she said.
Inspector Moloy Campbell sustained a serious hand injury when he ran in to confront Monzo with his baton raised after learning that one of his colleagues had been hurt.
Reading his statement at Monzo's sentencing on Friday, he said: "The community that my team and I are tasked to protect was under attack. My team, the line which stood between peace and chaos, safety and danger, was being breached.
"This is a scary and lonely place to be in. There was no help in that moment - we were the help.
"I had a choice to make: to contain Mr Monzo and line my officers up for slaughter, or confront Mr Monzo, thereby putting mine and other officers' lives at risk. This is a horrible decision which no-one should have to make.
"When I challenged Mr Monzo, I knew it may be the last decision I would ever make, but one that had to be made.
"It's a horrible feeling, being in a confrontation which feels like a 'him or me' situation. When I felt the slash to my hand I looked down and saw the inside of it. I had no choice but to withdrawn due to a catastrophic bleed but I felt I had failed."
Mr Campbell was treated in hospital and came round believing the team had achieved their goal to preserve life.
Describing his feelings on learning that was not the case and schoolboy Daniel Anjorin had died, he said: "I have never had the wind knocked out of me like that moment. I felt I was being sucked down into my hospital bed."
He said he was "concerned" as the drink has caused a "negative response" in some people.
Eduardo said his brother began to withdraw from his family when he returned from the retreat.
The court heard no trace of DMT – the hallucinogen found in ayahuasca – was detected in Monzo's system.
But prosecutors said his "conduct was brought about by self-induced intoxication in the form of drugs" that led to a "psychotic disorder".
Monzo, of West Beckton, Newham, denied murder, four counts of attempted murder and one of wounding with intent.

In a proceeds of crime confiscation order, a judge told the Italians to repay £435,000. But a Sun on Sunday Freedom of Information request revealed payments of just £30,376.79, £2,155.53 and £4,349.65 respectively. Police assessing videos of Kneecap and Bob Vylan's Glastonbury performances
In a post on social media, Avon and Somerset Police said: 'We are aware of the comments made by acts on the West Holts Stage at Glastonbury Festival this afternoon. Bob Vylan also displayed pro-Palestinian images (Yui Mok/PA) 'Video evidence will be assessed by officers to determine whether any offences may have been committed that would require a criminal investigation.' Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has spoken to the BBC Director General about the Bob Vylan's performance, a Government spokesperson said. They added: 'We strongly condemn the threatening comments made by Bob Vylan at Glastonbury. 'The Culture Secretary has spoken to the BBC Director General to seek an urgent explanation about what due diligence it carried out ahead of the Bob Vylan performance, and welcomes the decision not to re-broadcast it on BBC iPlayer.' There was a display of pro-Palestinian flags and t-shirts during Kneecap's set (Yui Mok/PA) Kneecap, who hail from Belfast, have been in the headlines after member Liam Og O hAnnaidh, who performs under the name Mo Chara, was charged with a terror offence. In reference to his bandmate's upcoming court date, Naoise O Caireallain, who performs under the name Moglai Bap, said they would 'start a riot outside the courts', before clarifying: 'No riots just love and support, and support for Palestine.' In the run-up to the festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset, several politicians called for Kneecap to be removed from the line-up and Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer said their performance would not be 'appropriate'. During the performance Caireallain said: 'The Prime Minister of your country, not mine, said he didn't want us to play, so f*** Keir Starmer.' He also said a 'big thank you to the Eavis family' and said 'they stood strong' amid calls for the organisers to drop them from the line-up. O hAnnaidh, 27, wore a keffiyeh during the set, while member JJ O Dochartaigh, who performs under the name DJ Provai, wore his signature tri-coloured balaclava as well as a T-shirt that said: 'We are all Palestine Action', in reference to the soon-to-be banned campaign group. News broadcasts criticising the hip hop trio played from the sound system before they walked onto the stage were booed by the Glastonbury Festival audience. The trio opened with the song Better Way To Live from their 2024 album Fine Art and also performed tracks including Get Your Brits Out and Hood. Access to the area around the West Holts Stage was closed around 45 minutes before their performance after groups of fans arrived to form a sea of Irish and Palestinian flags. A Bob Vylan member crowd-surfs surrounded by Palestinian flags (Yui Mok/PA) Earlier on Saturday, the BBC confirmed they would not be live-streaming the set but said the performance is likely to be made available on-demand later. O hAnnaidh was charged with allegedly displaying a flag in support of proscribed terrorist organisation Hezbollah, while saying 'up Hamas, up Hezbollah' at a gig in November last year. On June 18, the rapper was cheered by hundreds of supporters as he arrived with bandmates O Caireallain and O Dochartaigh at Westminster Magistrates' Court in Free Mo Chara T-shirts. He was released on unconditional bail until the next hearing at the same court on August 20.

Killer cop Wayne Couzens secretly whisked to NHS hospital for £17k back op sparking fury over ‘appalling waste of money'
Sources said Couzens was 'reluctant' to move from the jail's hospital as he fears being attacked BEAST'S VIP TREATMENT Killer cop Wayne Couzens secretly whisked to NHS hospital for £17k back op sparking fury over 'appalling waste of money' KILLER cop Wayne Couzens was secretly whisked to an NHS hospital for a back op — costing taxpayers an estimated £17,000. The fiend, 52, who kidnapped, raped and murdered Sarah Everard, required intensive security during his several days away from HMP Frankland, Durham. The cost of getting him in and out of HMP Frankland in Durham was estimated to be £10,000 alone - while the procedure can cost up to £7,000. The revelation was slammed as a waste of public money last night, amid concerns Couzens was allowed to jump the waiting list. Labour's North Durham MP Luke Akehurst said: 'I would be disgusted if it turns out that this vile rapist and murderer was able to jump the queue in front of decent law-abiding people to get his treatment. Advertisement He should not be given any special treatment in jail. He's in prison as punishment for his terrible crimes - nobody should forget that Robert Jenrick on Couzens 'The cost of the security surrounding his time in hospital is an appalling waste of public money.' Tory shadow Justice Minister Robert Jenrick added: 'Wayne Couzens is one of the most despicable criminals in our jails and a traitor to the police uniform he wore. 'He should not be given any special treatment in jail. He's in prison as punishment for his terrible crimes — nobody should forget that.' Couzens, who abused police powers to abduct Sarah, 33, in a fake Covid arrest before killing her in 2021, had the procedure this month. Advertisement The nearest unit offering his op is the University Hospital of North Durham. A typical lumbar procedure sees medics sterilise the patient's back before delivering a local anaesthetic. Chilling moment Wayne Couzens moans 'I'm not in a good place' in shocking police interview after murdering Sarah Everard They then drain fluid with a syringe. Couzens is believed to have spent several days in hospital before being driven the three miles back to the Category A prison's healthcare unit. Advertisement A source told how the operation was not an emergency and was carried out 'to make him comfortable'. They said: 'People are angry at how he was treated — and how much effort the authorities went to, as well as how much it cost. 'Couzens is constantly moaning in jail and had been complaining about back pain so was assessed in healthcare at the prison. 'The security operation to get him to and from the hospital would have easily run to more than £10,000. Advertisement 'He was taken straight from his cell into a Category A van, which is bullet-proof with a custody manager and at least four prison officers. 'While he was at the hospital, armed police would have been on guard. Couzens was classed as a 'high-risk escort' — not because he poses a danger but because of the danger to him from the public. 7 Vile killer cop Couzens kidnapped, raped and murdered Sarah Everard in 2021 Credit: PA 'He is recognisable and reviled so they do not take chances. Advertisement 'He would have been treated on a ward — but in his own room — to keep him away from people. The prison and NHS have a duty of care to him, like they do with everyone. 'But this was apparently not even an emergency procedure and was basically done to relieve pressure on him and make him comfortable.' Ex-prison governor Vanessa Frake, who ran London's notorious Wormwood Scrubs, said: 'Getting prisoners to operations like this is all down to risk. It would have taken a while to plan with the police and the hospital, assessing not only his safety, but the safety of prison staff, healthcare staff, other patients and the public. Couzens should be at the very bottom of the pecking order when it comes to NHS treatment Former Met detective Peter Bleksley 'It's not an unusual thing for prisoners to go out to hospital. This is more unusual because he is who he is, and that makes it much more difficult not only for the prison staff but the hospital staff as well. Advertisement 'I understand people's concerns about it. But more than that, I think about Sarah Everard's family and how they must be feeling.' Sources said Couzens was 'reluctant' to move from the jail's hospital as he fears being attacked. 7 University Hospital of North Durham, where Couzens was treated Credit: Alamy We told in March 2022 how the former Met firearms officer had been allowed to buy an Xbox 360 as a reward for good behaviour. Couzens — handed a whole-life tariff because of his heinous crimes — is housed with other fiends including double child murderer Ian Huntley and morgue monster David Fuller. He has previously been on suicide watch and is regularly placed on ACCT — Assessment, Care in Custody, and Teamwork — programmes which involve close monitoring of vulnerable lags. Former Met detective Peter Bleksley said: 'Couzens should be at the very bottom of the pecking order when it comes to NHS treatment. Advertisement 'It sticks in the craw when any killer like him is effectively whisked to the front of the queue.
