Diddy's wild confession to sketch artist who drew him during sex trafficking trial

Daily Mail3 days ago
Sean ' Diddy ' Combs had some strong words for the sketch artist who drew him during his months-long sex trafficking trial.
The 55-year-old music mogul was depicted in court sketches visibly panicking when jurors announced earlier this week that they had reached a verdict on four of the five charges against him.
Diddy was later seen collapsing in his chair when jurors declared that he was not guilty of racketeering conspiracy - the top charge against him - and sex trafficking. He was, however, found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution.
The images - some of which were commissioned by Jane Rosenberg - provided rare glimpses into the rapper's mood and demeanor during the high-profile proceedings.
But Combs was not always satisfied with the way Rosenberg was portraying him, even criticizing her work during a break in proceedings last month.
She recounted to PEOPLE how the I'll Be Missing You singer returned to the Manhattan federal courtroom and mouthed something at her.
At first, Rosenberg said she could not make out what Combs was trying to tell her. But when he repeated himself, she could hear that he wanted her to make him look 'softer' as he pointed to his mouth.
'And he said, "You made me look like a koala bear,"' the artist said.
She apparently took the criticism in stride, noting that later that same day, she found herself in the elevator with Combs' mother, Janice Combs, along with his sons.
'In the elevator, they were saying "Thank you for being such an unbiased artist,"' Rosenberg said. 'And I told them, "Today, Diddy said I made him look like a koala bear." And they all started chuckling.'
In her remarks to PEOPLE, Rosenberg admitted it took her some time to figure out how to properly draw the hip hop artist.
'He was not a simple likeness to do,' she said, adding that she had to learn how to draw his jaw.
'He's got an unusual look. And he doesn't look anything like he used to.'
Drawing celebrities at their high-profile criminal trials is a difficult task in general, Rosenberg said, as they are widely known and people have a perception of how they are supposed to look.
At times, even the celebrity has comments, like Diddy did.
'[Rudy] Giuliani told me I made him look like a dog, [Harvey] Weinstein told me to give him more hair, John Gotti asked me to trim down his chin,' said Rosenberg, who has been working as a professional sketch artist for 45 years and wrote a memoir entitled. ' Drawn Testimony: My Four Decades as a Courtroom Sketch Artist.'
'And [President Donald] Trump once stood over one of my sketches and said, "I need to lose some weight,"' she recounted.
The worst criticism Rosenberg ever faced came in 2015, she said, when she drew former Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady during an NFL hearing on the 'Deflategate' scandal - which claimed the team illegally deflated footballs in their 2014 AFC Championship victory over the Indianapolis Colts.
She said she did not know who the star quarterback was when she sketched him. But when she returned home from work, she said she found she had received hundreds of emails.
Fans of Brady panned her for making the handsome quarterback look like he was 'put in one of those machines that crushes cars,' while those who disliked him celebrated her depiction of him.
'I didn't know what memes were,' Rosenberg said. 'But I certainly learned the what memes were' as netizens put the sketch in place of ET on the poster for the classic movie, or the face in The Scream, by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch.
In the end, Rosenberg was forced to apologize as she had 'nightmares' about her viral fame.
'I didn't make Tom Brady look as handsome as he is,' she told WBZ Boston. 'I apologize to Tom Brady. And all the NFL fans.'
She added: 'He's a very handsome guy. It's very hard in a very short time to get somebody so good- looking to look as good as they look [in person].'
Fortunately, her second effort at drawing the star football player passed without so much attention.

Father-to-be working first day at California fireworks facility found dead after terrifying explosion

A father-to-be who was working his first shift at a California fireworks facility is among seven dead after a terrifying explosion. The body of 18-year-old Jesus Manaces Ramos was pulled from the wreckage of the warehouse explosion in Esparto, California at the weekend - five days after the tragedy rocked the small community. His pregnant girlfriend, Syanna Ruiz, had earlier told ABC 10 that Jesus had taken a job alongside his older brothers, Johnny Ramos and Junior Melendez, to provide a better life for his growing family. All three men were tragically killed on Tuesday when their workplace, Devastating Pyrotechnics, went up in smoke. The blast damaged homes nearby and sparked the 78-acre Oakdale Fire, which led to evacuation orders and burned for four days before it was finally contained. 'He saw it as a new chapter in our life,' soon-to-be mother Ruiz said. 'He was excited. He was a good person, he is a good person.' Jesus' father Jhonny confirmed that his two older sons, Johnny, 22, and Joel Melendez Jr., 28, were also among the missing. According to Joel's mother Lupe Melendez Mendoza, he, too was at work to provide for his growing family. 'I don't know what happened,' his mother said. 'I just know that he loves his had a baby 10 months ago, and she's pregnant.' Angel Voller and Carlos Rodriguez have also been identified by their loved ones as victims of the tragic explosion. Two other victims have not been publicly named. Angel was a keen baseball player and his club paid tribute to him following the tragedy, writing: 'Angel was a fierce competitor and the most loyal friend and teammate you could ever ask for. 'A very humble and respectful young man, Angel contributed greatly to the success of our program in all 4 of his high school years.' The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, and authorities are working with federal agencies to determine what led to the catastrophic incident. Cal Fire's arson and bomb investigation unit is leading the investigation into the mass casualty tragedy. It took some time before authorities could get inside to retrieve the bodies as they worked to 'mitigate hazards' for emergency crews. Yolo County said in a statement: 'The Yolo County Coroner's Division has confirmed that seven individuals previously reported missing in connection with the Oakdale Fire have been located and recovered from the scene.' Work was being carried out to contact next of kin for each of the deceased. 'Crews are continuing to mitigate explosive hazards present at the scene,' the statement continued. 'To support this effort, CAL FIRE and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) National Response Team (NRT) have requested the assistance of regional bomb squads.' The warehouse is known for producing large-scale fireworks displays for major events in the Bay Area. The company, which has been in business for over 30 years, stated in a brief statement that it would fully cooperate with the investigation. Before its website was taken down, it was noted that Devastating Pyrotechnics focuses mainly on display fireworks for large productions, rather than retail products. Devastating Pyrotechnics released a statement on their website that read, 'Our hearts and thoughts are with those we lost, their families, and everyone impacted in our community. 'We are grateful for the swift response of law enforcement and emergency personnel. Our focus will remain on those directly impacted by this tragedy, and we will cooperate fully with the proper authorities in their investigation.' Grief support services are available for anybody impacted by the tragedy.

Chiefs owner's wife confirms tragic family death after Texas floods ravaged Camp Mystic

The wife of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt has confirmed the tragic loss of family member as a result of the devastating Texas floods. Clark's wife, Tavia, revealed that Janie Hunt - a young cousin in the family - was part of the Camp Mystic campers who died during the incident. Taking to Instagram, she wrote: 'Our hearts are broken by the devastation from the floods in Wimberley and the tragic loss of so many lives — including a precious little Hunt cousin, along with several friend's little girls. 'How do we trust a God who is supposed to be good, all knowing and all powerful, but who allows such terrible things to happen — even to children? 'That is a sacred and tender question — and one the Bible doesn't shy away from. Scripture is filled with the cries of those whose hearts have been shattered, who still wrestle to trust the same God they believe allowed the pain.' Eleven girls are missing from Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas, and five of their fellow campers have died after the rushing waters destroyed the all-girls private Christian summer camp. The total death toll has risen to 69, including 21 children, after the Guadalupe River flooded and surged by up to 30 feet above its usual water level on Friday. Beloved director of Camp Mystic, Richard 'Dick' Eastland, 70, died while trying to save girls as a month's worth of rain dropped in a matter of minutes. One week before the tragedy, the camp shared videos on social media of the campers happily prancing around on stage during their first term chorus and dance production. The youngest campers slept on low-laying 'flats' inside the camp's cabins, whereas older girls slept in cabins on higher ground, according to the NYT. Most of the missing girls are from the younger age bracket, who were sleeping just yards away from the banks of the Guadalupe River. Texas Governor Greg Abbott said that some 750 girls had been staying at the camp when the floodwaters hit. Relatives of the missing have started arriving in the Kerrville area from across the Lone Star State to provide investigators with DNA samples. Meanwhile, Daily Mail exclusively revealed on Sunday that Texas's Division of Emergency Management predicted the number of dead as a result of catastrophic flooding in Kerrville on July 4 would top 100. In an email sent out Saturday, the state disaster office told partners the number of dead would surpass 100, two different sources confirmed to Daily Mail. The estimate of the dead is vastly different than the message state officials are projecting publicly, insisting that they are still searching for people who are alive, and refusing to say rescue efforts have shifted to recovery of remains. 'Our state assets and local partners are continuing to search for live victims,' the head of TDEM W. Nim Kidd told reporters at a press conference Saturday. 'Our hope and prayer is that there is still people alive that are out there.'
