Celebs react as Diddy is found not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering
Famous faces have joined the public in sharing their shock at Sean ' P Diddy ' Combs being found not guilty of sex trafficking and racketeering. The rapper, 55, dropped to his knees in court as a jury of eight men and four women acquitted him of the two most serious counts against him today (Wednesday, July 2).
The Bad Boy Records founder was found guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution, relating to ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura and a woman referred to as Jane. During the two month trial, the court heard how Combs had flown people around the country, including his girlfriends and paid male sex workers, to engage in sexual encounters, a felony violation of the federal Mann Act.
However, Combs has now been acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges, relating to allegations that he forced his former girlfriends into drug-fuelled sex encounters – known as 'Freak-Offs.'
And following the announcement, celebrities took to social media to let their feelings be known. Among them was singer Aubrey O'Day. Taking to her Instagram Stories, she shared a clip of reports of the verdict.
She captioned the post: "Wow." And she could be heard saying: "Oh my God. Not guilty on Cassie. Not guilty on Rico. No way is Jane going to be guilty. This makes me physically ill."
50 Cent also shared an image of himself, created using AI, as he wrote: "Diddy beat the Feds that boy a bad man ! beat the Rico, he the Gay John Gotti."
Piers Morgan also typed: "Wow...." as he reshared the verdict on Twitter/X. He had earlier penned: "Diddy's going down. Just a question now of how many convictions he gets, and how long a sentence…
The reactions come as Cassie also spoke out after the verdict. Her lawyer issued a statement saying: "This entire criminal process started when our client Cassie Ventura had the courage to file her civil complaint in November 2023.
"Although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution.
"By coming forward with her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice.
"We must repeat – with no reservation – that we believe and support our client who showed exemplary courage throughout this trial.
"She displayed unquestionable strength and brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion. This case proved that change is long overdue, and we will continue to fight on behalf of survivors.'

The majority of women who get it are over 50, but younger women and, in rare cases, men can also get breast cancer. If it's treated early enough, breast cancer can be prevented from spreading to other parts of the body. Breast cancer can have a number of symptoms, but the first noticeable symptom is usually a lump or area of thickened breast tissue. Most breast lumps aren't cancerous, but it's always best to have them checked by your doctor. You should also speak to your GP if you notice any of the following: a change in the size or shape of one or both breasts discharge from either of your nipples (which may be streaked with blood) a lump or swelling in either of your armpits dimpling on the skin of your breasts a rash on or around your nipple a change in the appearance of your nipple, such as becoming sunken into your breast Source: NHS Honey Mitchell actress Emma Barton wrote: "Love you so much, you beautiful, strong, mental, brave lady… You're frigging Ace!!!" Diana Vickers reveals the best sex advice she's ever been given
Diana Vickers is no stranger to a reinvention. Since charming the nation on The X Factor in 2008, she's made her mark in music, theatre, and comedy. Now, she's taking on the world of podcasting with Just Between Us in collaboration with Metro – a no-filter, sex-positive agony-aunt style show which launched earlier this week. The concept? Each week, Diana and her co-host, Metro's Alice Giddings, a bona fide sex expert ('a sexpert!' as Diana gleefully puts it), take calls from listeners navigating everything from threesomes and sex parties to cheating scandals and bedroom blips. And while Alice brings the expert insight, Diana brings the chaos and the laughs. 'Alice already works at Metro, she's fabulous and she really knows her stuff,' Diana explains. 'She's the sexpert and I guess I'm the one who doesn't really know what the hell's going on. I'm more the messy one—I just react. My advice might not always be the best… so I'm sorry!' she laughs. But between the giggles, Diana admits the stakes can feel high when real people are involved: 'It's definitely a lot of pressure,' she says. 'You're giving advice that could actually affect someone's life. I think I'm quite good at it, but I'm always like, 'If I mess this up, please don't come for me.'' Still, Diana sees the podcast as a space for honesty and solidarity: 'Dating right now is such a nightmare. It's exhausting. Hinge, Raya, all of it… it's just a mess. So I think the podcast will actually be a comfort for a lot of people. You hear someone going through absolute madness and you're like, 'OK, it's not just me who's losing the plot over some f**kboy.'' That blend of empathy and entertainment is already proving effective. The first episode features a jaw-dropping story of a woman who found a condom in her boyfriend's bed – despite their agreement to be exclusive. She's definitely not sugar-coating the current state of modern dating: 'I do think it's an absolute nightmare at the moment,' she says. 'With Hinge and dating apps, there are so many possibilities, and people get really, really bored and ghost people. And I mean, to be honest, I've taken a little break off the apps because I'm knackered.' Even Raya, the exclusive dating app for creatives, has lost its appeal. 'Raya is a weird one,' Diana admits. 'I've actually connected with a few people that I already knew and then we cemented that friendship… But I think mostly it's a place for hookups, like, nothing serious.' One guy even messaged her on Instagram asking why she hadn't matched with him. 'I thought he looked quite nice, normal guy, so I matched with him. And then he just turned out to be a bit of a dick. Kind of put me off it.' Diana's particularly passionate about breaking down shame around female sexuality. 'There's still a stigma,' she says. 'Men watch porn and think sex is done like that—but female pleasure is more complex. I think it's really important to talk about it, to be direct, to tell people what you want. I'm quite bossy in that way, and I think that's the best sex advice I've ever been given – just be honest. And if he doesn't like it? Sod him.' More Trending While Just Between Us might be Diana's newest outlet, she's far from done with the rest. She recently starred in Just For One Day, a musical about Live Aid, and has a TV appearance and a secret stage project lined up for later this year. She's also dipped back into music after a break, writing what she calls 'super gay, super fun songs for the gays and the girlies'. Still, it's clear that the podcast has struck a special chord. 'I absolutely love talking about sex and relationships, especially from a woman's perspective. I'm such an advocate for women being able to express themselves openly.' Got a story? Diddy supporters' sick Cassie comments as they clash with critics outside court
Sean 'Diddy' Combs has been found guilty of two of the five counts he was charged with, but the prosecution is still seeking a maximum sentence of 20 years Ugly scenes broke out outside a federal court in New York, as Sean 'Diddy' Combs fans and critics clash following 12 jurors delivering a verdict earlier today. Combs has been found guilty of just two of the five counts he was charged with, however the prosecution is still seeking a maximum sentence of 20 years. The 12 jurors in his sex-trafficking trial continued their deliberations for just 56 minutes today after struggling to come to a unanimous decision regarding count one. Combs dropped to his knees inside court as he learned he had avoided life behind bars today. The jury found the Last Night singer not guilty of racketeering, and not guilty of sex trafficking ex-partner Casandra Ventura and another woman referred to as "Jane" As Combs' family reacted to the news, a furious clash broke out outside court moments after the verdict was delivered, with two men screaming at one another while referring to Cassie's testimony that Combs beat her on multiple occasions. CCTV footage from an LA hotel in 2016 showed Combs attacking Cassie near the lift doors. One man shouted that "he beat her", with the opposing man responding: "It doesn't matter." The initial man continued to shout: "He beat her, he kicked her." While the other man screaming back: "And she liked it, how about that?" Another male supporter was seen holding a bottle of baby oil as they celebrated the verdict. The trial, held at the Federal District Court in Lower Manhattan starting May 5, saw testimony from 34 witnesses, among them stars like Kid Cudi and Cassie herself. During her emotional testimony, Cassie recounted an assault by Diddy at a Los Angeles hotel back in 2016. She further detailed to the court how Diddy had sexually assaulted her in her own living room. Now, with Combs convicted on two counts and cleared of others, her legal representative has released a statement: "This entire criminal process started when our client Cassie Ventura had the courage to file her civil complaint in November 2023. "Although the jury did not find Combs guilty of sex trafficking Cassie beyond a reasonable doubt, she paved the way for a jury to find him guilty of transportation to engage in prostitution. By coming forward with her experience, Cassie has left an indelible mark on both the entertainment industry and the fight for justice. "We must repeat – with no reservation – that we believe and support our client who showed exemplary courage throughout this trial. She displayed unquestionable strength and brought attention to the realities of powerful men in our orbit and the misconduct that has persisted for decades without repercussion. This case proved that change is long overdue, and we will continue to fight on behalf of survivors." After her testimony concluded on May 17, Cassie's solicitor, Doug Wigdor, issued a statement acknowledging the difficulty of her experience: "This week has been extremely challenging, but also remarkably empowering and healing for me. "For me, the more I heal, the more I can remember. And the more I can remember, the more I will never forget. I want to thank my family and my advocates for their unwavering support, and I'm grateful for all the kindness and encouragement that I have received. "I'm glad to put this chapter of my life to rest. As I turn to focus on the conclusion of my pregnancy, I ask for privacy for me and for my growing family."
