'1000-Lb Sisters' Tammy Slaton Sets Sights On Her Dream Car After Reaching Weight Loss Goal
The reality star is ready to hop behind the wheel after smashing her weight goals and getting a much-needed skin removal surgery earlier in the year.
Tammy Slaton became a superstar after she began documenting her weight transformation on the "1000-Lb Sisters" reality show in 2020. Five years later, the TV star is in a much better place and eager to try new things.
Although Tammy is nowhere close to being an ideal driver, she already has an eye on her dream car. In a recent podcast, she expressed her wish to get a classic Ford Mustang GT, lovingly describing it as a vintage stang.
In the same podcast, Tammy admitted to being afraid of semi-trucks, which, according to her, cannot see other drivers on the blind side.
Back to her decision to own a Mustang, the reality star knows her onions. Not only is Mustang a high-performance and horsepower car, but it also has a very spacious interior, adding to its comfort.
As reported by Screenrant, the TV personality will not let her fear of semis overpower her desire to have a good time behind the wheels of her dream car. She admitted that at some point, she would eventually take driving lessons.
Tammy's fear of driving does not end with the semi trucks. She shared on the Creative Chaos podcast that she once had a scary experience where she and the driver fought back sleep while on the road.
According to her, she had to take one for the team and stay awake to help the driver despite not having the slightest idea of how to turn a steering wheel. Afraid of suffering the same fate a second time, the reality star decided to lay her curiosity about driving any car to rest, until now.
She experienced another close shave with an auto accident when she drove a golf cart with her brother, Chris Combs. Initially, Tammy was elated to drive the cart, which was moving at a high speed.
Not long after, the situation became dire as she found herself heading for a tree to avoid a more disastrous collision. The situation left her scarred, as it took her a while to get over it and regain composure.
The 38-year-old and her friend recorded a collective weight loss of over 2k pounds, a significant progress that still left her battling some challenges.
The Blast reported that the content creator admitted that the excess skin that came with shedding all the weight introduced some physical discomfort.
She declared late last year, before her weight loss surgery, that she sometimes got rashes under her stomach that were prone to infections, and that was a source of worry to her.
Aside from this, Tammy has a lot to be thankful for. The star shared that she was able to cross her legs without breaking a sweat and put on her shoes conveniently while sitting on the toilet.
Tammy showed up on social media oozing confidence with the results of her plastic surgery, which, according to fans, transformed her entire appearance. The Blast shared that Tammy hard-launched her new look in a selfie with her significant other, Andrea.
She also played around with several filters, trying out what she would look like in previous years and centuries. It took a whole lot of convincing for Tammy to go in for the surgery.
According to her, she was skeptical about the procedure as she did not know what the outcome might be and the pain she might experience along the way.
She acknowledged the physical difference she would experience and ultimately concluded it was for the best. "I'm going to look halfway normal from [the] face down. It's scary but rewarding at the same time," she shared.
After three years of dating, Tammy proudly flaunted her engagement ring to Andrea Dalton on the podcast hosted by Hunter Ezell. She noted that their relationship was pretty private, with most of their time spent indoors.
Not only did she get a ring, but Tammy also got a necklace with the inscription "Andrea." The engagement announcement comes months after she revealed that she was dating a woman on the TLC show.
Andrea revealed that they met on a dating app and immediately connected, taking each day slowly and eventually ending up together.
On her choice to keep the relationship away from her family at the time, Tammy declared: "I think I want to approach this relationship differently than I have in the past. So I haven't told my family because my family's gonna have something to say about it."
Andrea is Tammy's first relationship since her husband, Caleb Willingham, passed away in July 2023.
Rooting for Tammy Slaton to tick off everything on her bucket list.

Nvidia's China Comeback Underway
Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) just got word from Washington that its export licenses for H20 GPUs to China are on track. The team hopes to restart shipments soon, and investors are buzzing. That pause back in April cost roughly eight billion dollars in quarterly revenue and tipped the balance to competitors. Shares jumped five percent before the bell as traders cheered what Wedbush calls a watershed moment. Warning! GuruFocus has detected 4 Warning Signs with NVDA. This follows Jensen Huang's sit-down with President Trump at the White House, underscoring how closely Nvidia has worked with policymakers amid rising tech tensions. China accounts for about fifteen percent of Nvidia's sales. Restoring that channel could lift Wall Street estimates and fuel Nvidia's next growth wave as global AI demand keeps exploding. With both Beijing and Washington looking to ease friction, Nvidia's regained China foothold may power a broader tech rally and reaffirm Jensen Huang's lead in the AI arms race. Minneapolis officials detail locations of traffic safety cameras ahead of September pilot launch
Minneapolis on Tuesday revealed where it'll be firing up new speed cameras come September. The program is set to combat what officials call the "number one traffic safety concern." In the past three years, city officials said 45 people were killed because of speeding and/or red light running in Minneapolis. "With these traffic safety cameras, we're making clear that speeding and reckless driving won't be tolerated—especially near our schools and areas with lots of foot traffic," Mayor Jacob Frey said. "This pilot program is about saving lives, not writing tickets, and I'm proud to have signed the contract this morning to get this work moving." Cameras will be at the following locations: Drivers going over 10 mph will get warnings for about the first 30 days. Citations will likely be issued by October. After one warning, drivers get a $40 fine for going 10 mph over the speed limit. The fine increases to $80 for speeds 20 mph or more over the limit. Drivers can also take an online traffic safety course in exchange for dismissal. Citations will not appear on a person's driving records and cannot be used to revoke a license, arrest someone or tow a vehicle, city officials say. The Minneapolis City Council approved last week a four-year contract with NovoaGlobal, Inc. for the pilot program, which the mayor officially signed on Tuesday. Minneapolis had red light cameras back in 2005, but the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled two years later that the cameras violated state law. This time around, the city got approval from lawmakers for the pilot program. The state law says money from the citations has to go to operating the program and traffic safety programs. Money cannot be a new source of revenue. Adam Myers is a store manager at Steve's Tire and Auto, located near where the speed camera at 46th and Nicollet is set to be. Reckless driving and speeding is common in the area, he said. "I'm not really fond of getting a ticket in the mail, but I don't speed, so we should be ok there," Myers said. "But I think it's a good idea to help with the safety of the community of this area."

Nonprofit creates tool to report obstructions directly to Philadelphia Parking Authority
It's getting even easier to report cars blocking crosswalks, loading zones and bike lanes in Philadelphia with a new tool from nonprofit Philly Bike Action. The nonprofit created a new tool called Laser Vision where people can report sidewalk, crosswalk and bike lane parking obstructions directly to the Philadelphia Parking Authority's Mobility Access Violation form, the website said. Philly Bike Action said the tool will help make the streets and sidewalks safer and more accessible. From a smartphone, people can take a photo, follow the prompts and then submit the violation. "Laser Vision will record the date, time, and location of the obstruction, as well as the make and model of the vehicle," Philly Bike Action! said on the website. To use Laser Vision, the user has to create a PBA account.
