BRS urges State poll body to delete symbols similar to car
Ahead of the forthcoming elections to the rural and urban local bodies in the State, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has requested the State Election Commissioner to delete certain identical symbols which look like the BRS election symbol of car from the list of free symbols to avoid confusion among the electorate.
In a letter addressed and submitted to the State Election Commissioner, BRS leaders B. Vinod Kumar and S. Bharath Kumar said on Tuesday that the symbols identical to the BRS election symbol of car was being misused to cut into the votes of BRS. They explained that opponents of BRS were taking advantage of such identical symbols to confuse voters in choosing and recognising the BRS' car symbol on the ballot papers.
Candidates who have contested on the identical symbols such as 'chapati rollers, camera, ship and a few others got/secured votes more than some of the recognised national parties too. A look at such symbols with the size in which they are displayed on ballot papers/EVM machines clearly show the similarities of the free symbols with the BRS symbol of car.
It could be clearly understood as to how candidates getting those symbols had been cutting into BRS votes in the past, affecting the prospects of BRS candidates. They also explained with details how the candidates who were allotted symbols identical to that of BRS have secured considerable number of votes, which otherwise would have been polled to BRS.
They also requested the SEC to give an opportunity to the party (BRS) to appear in person to present the case properly to ensure a free and fair elections to the local bodies.

Harish slams Revanth over constant flip-flops
Hyderabad: BRS senior leader T Harish Rao launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy accusing him of compromising the interests of Telangana and misleading its people. Addressing a press conference here at Telangana Bhavan, Harish Rao said that Revanth Reddy, who leaked to the media that he would boycott a Delhi meeting if Andhra Pradesh's Banakacharla project was discussed, rushed to Delhi at midnight. What prompted this sudden trip? What secret understanding was reached in the dead of night? Earlier, Revanth Reddy declared in the Assembly that he would not attend the NITI Aayog meeting. Yet later, he did attend it. Even a chameleon would feel ashamed at his constant flip-flops, alleged Harish Rao. Pointing out that in today's press meet, Revanth falsely claimed that Banakacharla was not on the agenda. In reality, it was the first item on the agenda. While Andhra Pradesh Minister Nimmala Ramanaidu confirmed discussions on Banakacharla and the formation of a committee, Revanth denied any such discussion. Is this the level of honesty expected from a Chief Minister? Telangana's people elected Revanth Reddy to protect their interests, not to serve Andhra Pradesh or pay political 'guru dakshina' to Chandrababu Naidu. The truth is like fire; it cannot be hidden. Harish Rao demanded that Revanth apologise to the people of Telangana for misleading them. 'Revanth Reddy's fabrications amount to betrayal. He is proving himself to be a traitor to Telangana, while Uttam Kumar Reddy plays along,' he said. He accused the Congress government of running under the remote control of BJP and TDP. 'Even Congress MLAs admit that TDP agents have infiltrated their cadre. Revanth, who earlier said there was no point in a meeting on Banakacharla, has now agreed to the formation of a committee,' Harish Rao questioned. Harish Rao pointed out that the Central Water Commission, GRMB, and the Polavaram Project Authority had all rejected the pre-feasibility report for Banakacharla. 'These statutory bodies, created through Parliament, denied approvals. How then did the Centre convene this meeting? Why did Revanth agree to a committee? His actions are nothing short of signing a death warrant for Telangana,' Rao asked. He warned that as long as K Chandrashekar Rao and BRS were present, they would not tolerate any injustice to Telangana. 'Both BJP and Congress are working against the interests of Telangana,' he added. Harish Rao concluded with a demand, 'Revanth must offer an unconditional apology to the people of Telangana for today's betrayal. BRS will never accept Banakacharla under any circumstances. We demand an all-party delegation to Delhi. For us, the state's interests are paramount, not petty politics.'

KTR dares Revanth for public debate on Medigadda Barrage
Hyderabad: BRS Working President KT Rama Rao on Wednesday challenged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to participate in a public debate at the Medigadda barrage, a structure the CM has repeatedly alleged to have 'collapsed'. Speaking at a meeting with the Dalit Bandhu Sadhana Samithi at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, Rama Rao launched a scathing attack on Revanth Reddy's credibility and knowledge. 'If he really believes the Medigadda barrage has collapsed, let him come there and debate in front of the people' said KTR. He reminded people that BRS had earlier invited the Chief Minister for a public debate, offering him three full days of preparation. 'We went to the Press Club, ready to debate. But Revanth ran away. He is a coward who talks big and disappears when confronted,' he said. 'Now again, I'm challenging him... let's have the debate, not at Nagarjunasagar as he challenged, but at Medigadda barrage itself,' KTR said. The BRS leader mentioned that senior party leader and former Minister Jagadish Reddy had already visited the Medigadda site and renewed the challenge. 'If he has the courage, the Chief Minister must come and face us,' KTR demanded. He also stated that despite Revanth Reddy knowing well that it was former CM K Chandrashekar Rao who ensured water supply to tail-end farmers in regions like Tungaturthi and Suryapet, Revanth continues to spread blatant lies for political mileage, he alleged. Continuing his criticism, the BRS working president condemned the repeated use of vulgar and undignified language by the CM. 'Revanth Reddy keeps calling me a thief. When asked to implement his poll promises, he shamelessly says things like 'Do what you want. Will you cut and bite me?' This is not the language of a responsible public representative. Let the people of Telangana respond to this in the upcoming local body elections,' he warned. Quoting the Constitution, KTR said, 'Dr BR Ambedkar would never have imagined that individuals like Revanth Reddy, frauds and conmen would come to power. That's why the Constitution gave a five-year term, otherwise there would've been a recall mechanism to throw such people out of office.' 'Personally, I don't believe in using abusive language in politics. But with Revanth, there is no choice. He only understands gutter language.
