I tried Lookfantastic's April Box which saves shoppers £40 on beauty staples
Packed with six items - and occasionally even seven if the brand throws in a complimentary gift, as they often do (surpassing Glossybox's five products per month for £13.50) - this box is ideal for those who enjoy experimenting with new products or simply want to shake up their beauty regime.
April's box is chock-full of mostly deluxe sized skincare treats that will leave your face, hands, body and scalp feeling ultra-hydrated. It even includes a product that makeup artists and beauty enthusiasts swear by for cleaning their brushes.
If you fancy a larger beauty haul, Lookfantastic's Travel Edit features a range of sun-ready products worth £105 for just £30 here, while M&S' Made for an Icon Beauty Box, valued at over £130, is currently on offer for £24, reports the Mirror. Elsewhere, Space NK's Everything Shower Edit is £70 and features brands like Alpha-H, Sol De Janeiro, Living Proof and Aromatherapy Associates.
Although if you're after a little spring-time pick me up, here are my honest thoughts on Lookfantastic's April Beauty Box.
First off, the items are delivered in a recyclable cardboard box adorned with the Lookfantastic The Box logo. The box is filled with tissue paper to safeguard the products and add an element of luxury.
Inside the box, you'll find five deluxe-sized products that are ideal for slipping into your carry-on bag when travelling, as well as a full-sized makeup brush from Spectrum Collections - a brand I've been eager to try.
The box's contents cover all bases with a L'OCCITANE Shea Butter Hand Cream, L'OCCITANE Shower Oil, Peter Thomas Roth Waterdrench Mask, The Nue Co Supa Thick Scalp Serum, ISOCLEAN Makeup Brush Cleaner with a Spray Top and the Spectrum A05 Blusher Brush inside. As a bonus, the brand also included a 1.2ml sample of the Mugler Alien Extraintense Fragrance.
Considering some of the products inside retail at £10 and above, the box, priced at £15, offers excellent value for money - particularly as the scalp serum alone costs the same as the entire box.
While the whole haul is lovely, three products, in particular, stand out to me, and they're possibly the most accessible and cheapest ones. Firstly, the £4 L'OCCITANE Shower Oil. It's a best-seller for good reason, and having sampled it before in a previous box, I've since stocked up on it.
It has a delightful sweet almond fragrance that lingers post shower and feels super luxurious. The product transforms in the shower from a silky golden oil to a milk-like lather, leaving my skin feeling velvety soft and smelling divine. Its compact 35ml size also makes it a perfect addition to my travel wash bag.
A second from the renowned skincare brand, the L'OCCITANE Shea Butter Hand Cream valued at £10, is my second favourite. Simply put, it works wonders on dry hands (a problem I frequently suffer, particularly on my knuckles) and comes with a delightful jasmine and ylang ylang scent.
It's quickly absorbed and doesn't leave your hands feeling overly greasy post-application. The Spectrum Blusher Brush, full size, may only be worth £8 on Lookfantastic, but it's one I've been eager to try for a while now. Given the brand's reputation and celebrity endorsements, I wasn't surprised by the brush's excellent quality on my somewhat sensitive skin.
The bristles were gentle and didn't feel too rigid when applying blusher. In fact, they felt incredibly soft and flexible - a feature my cheaper brushes certainly lack. Perhaps this is the push I needed to upgrade my current makeup brush collection?
Another standout item in the Lookfantastic April box is the ISOCLEAN Makeup Brush Cleaner with a Spray Top. We're all guilty of neglecting our makeup brushes for weeks without giving them a thorough clean, mainly because it can be a hassle to do so with just soap and water.
This makeup brush cleaner takes the effort out of keeping your brushes pristine and is a breeze to use. You just spritz onto a tissue—or directly on the brush—then gently swirl the bristles on a surface you don't mind dirtying, and watch as the makeup effortlessly dissolves from your brush.
I applied the spray to a tissue (to avoid drenching it without knowing how strong the formula was), and I found that it swiftly cleaned my blush/bronzer brush and at the same time revealed the surprising amount of residue lodged in its bristles.
There was, however, one drawback to the product—the scent isn't exactly pleasing. To put it bluntly, the chemical aroma was quite sharp and even caused some irritation to my eyes. Nevertheless, I'm not ready to give up on it; I plan to use it again, this time taking extra care during application.
The Mugler Alien Extraintense Fragrance is perfectly sized for travel and can easily be slipped into your handbag for an evening out. Due to lack of social plans since receiving the box, I've saved it instead of squandering it on nights spent at home—although for the purpose of this review I did have a quick whiff, which revealed a divine blend of sweet vanilla and floral jasmine notes.
As for the Peter Thomas Roth Waterdrench Mask and the Nue Co Supa Thick Scalp Serum —I haven't gotten round to trying them just yet; I'm saving them for a pampering evening. However, the excitement is real after hearing such rave reviews.
One beauty fan shared: "First box and the face mask was my favourite, it left my skin so hydrated. the brush and brush cleanser were also very good too. would probably buy a bigger version of the face mask."
Another customer praised the variety in this month's beauty selection, particularly enjoying the Spectrum brush and L'Occitane products: "I love this month's beauty edit, especially for the Spectrum brush and L'Occitane. I will use all products."
However, they also mentioned their request for a larger quantity of a certain item: "Wish scalp serum was more to know the results."
Although the smaller sizes proved welcome for one shopper who found the box to be an excellent source for travel-sized items and complimented its monthly offerings: "Fab little box to look forward to monthly. Usually at least one full size product in each box! Perfect for a gift or for stocking up on minis while travelling."

Inside Faye Winter's makeup bag with ‘brightening' Charlotte Tilbury concealer
Faye shared the exact products she uses on Instagram Love Island star Faye Winter has taken to Instagram to share some of her favourite beauty products, including a Charlotte Tilbury concealer that shoppers love. Faye shared the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer that you can buy from Cult Beauty for £28. The concealer currently has over 200 reviews on the beauty site, with an average star rating of 4.5 out of a possible five stars. One shopper who loved the concealer said: "Amazing brightening concealer, tried in a flagship store to do a wear test and using in conjunction with the corrector has really brightened up my eye area. "It's very hydrating. The shade match is perfect." Faye also shared some of the other beauty products she uses, which include the Trinny London Trinity Multitasker for blush that costs £36. The product is a handy stick that can be used for lips, cheeks, and eyes. For her foundation, Faye used the Huda Beauty Easy Blur, which is currently on offer at Beauty Bay for £26 down from £32, and her bronzer is the £30 Fenty Beauty Sun Stalk'R Instant Warmth Bronzer, which you can also shop at LOOK FANTASTIC. Faye also used the Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush by Selena Gomez's brand Rare Beauty, currently £18 down from £26 at Rare Beauty, and e.l.f's £10 Power Grip Primer that can be bought from Boots. As well as the Charlotte Tilbury concealer, Faye used the brand's popular Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder which is also shoppable at Cult Beauty for £39. Other products used in Faye's post which was titled 'GRWM using cruelty free brands' include the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Lip Luminizer which is £19 at LOOK FANTASTIC. This is said to give a hydrating high shine finish. Also in the video and available at LOOK FANTASTIC is the Heliocare 360 Color Gel Oil-Free Sunscreen Protector SPF50+ which retails for £33 but has been cut to £25. If you're in the market for a new concealer and fancy some more options, then you can also shop the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer from LOOK FANTASTIC for £27 that gives a creamy medium to full coverage or the Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer available at Cult Beauty for £29. Despite plenty of shoppers loving the Charlotte Tilbury Beautiful Skin Radiant Concealer, one didn't get on with the formula saying: "Tried to love this… found it drying and wasn't great at covering dark circles. It gives a fair amount of coverage if you don't have major eye bags or discolouration etc." Other shoppers were pleased with their purchase, however, with another writing: "Lovely and lightweight under the eyes . Definitely makes me look less tired." Another dubbed the concealer their 'favourite', commenting "I have tried hundreds of concealers over the years and this is by far my favourite. "Medium coverage, which is good for natural every day and also buildable for more full coverage." A third who titled their review 'fab' wrote "Love this concealer - easy to apply and lovely consistency."

Estée Lauder fragrance dubbed ‘best scent' that ‘smells like summer holidays'
One shopper said they 'always get compliments' when wearing it Estée Lauder fans have been sharing their love for a fragrance that 'smells like summer holidays.' Estée Lauder's Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche Skinscent is now down from £58 to £44 at LOOK FANTASTIC, and shoppers have been heaping praise on the fragrance, with some calling it 'summer in a bottle'. The scent is described on LOOK FANTASTIC as being: "A radiant solar floral fragrance inspired by the irresistible allure of summer skin, with creamy coconut and glowing amber notes." As a beauty writer who loves anything coconut scented, I have to agree it's one of my favourites for the warmer weather. Other summery fragrances available to shop now include NIVEA's 30ml Sun Eau De Toilette, which can be purchased on Amazon for £21. One reviewer said the scent 'smells heavenly.' Next's £18 Summer Sun 100ml and 10ml Perfume Gift Set is also a great summer option and one shopper said: "This smells divine and the bottle feels and looks expensive and luxurious." If you fancy a different beachy scent, then Phlur's Beach Skin Body Mist is available at Space NK for £25 and has notes of salty air and coconut milk. Slightly more spenny but still super summery is Jo Malone's new Raspberry Ripple Cologne, which is available on LOOK FANTASTIC priced at £59 for 30ml. It's described as being fruity with notes of redcurrant, raspberry, and white musk. Shoppers have been sharing how much they love the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess scent, with one writing: "Love this scent for summer, so fresh and light but always get compliments." Another said: "Gosh, I just love this. It's the best scent, so clean, fresh and summery. I love spraying it generously after a shower…heaven!" Despite this, some shoppers had reservations about the scent's longevity, with one writing: "I really like this light scent for spring or summer, however, it does not have a lot of staying power. "The bottle does not last long. I most likely will not purchase again." Another echoed this, saying: "Such a lovely scent for the summer, just wish the longevity was better." Another reviewer who titled their comments 'holiday in a bottle' noted: "This smells like summer holidays and is a beautiful holiday perfume. Definitely for use in summer."

For one week only shoppers can save 50% on ‘sophisticated and sensual' Rabanne perfume
The limited edition Rabanne Fame The Couture Edition perfume has been slashed from £144 to £72 for one week only, with shoppers saying it smells 'sophisticated and sensual' There's nothing better than finding a new perfume that ends up being your go-to scent, and we think we might just have found the perfect fragrance that encapsulates summer. Rabanne's Fame The Couture Edition Eau de Parfum was inspired by Parisian nightlife, evoking fast-paced, sophisticated and sensual energy, and embodies everything we love about the summer season. The latest addition to Rabanne's Fame range of perfumes, The Couture Edition is a limited edition launch, serving up seductive notes that are sweet, floral and heady. It also comes in a unique faux fur-covered bottle with gold accents, giving it a luxurious, extravagant look to match its high end scent. The Rabanne Fame The Couture Edition perfume lands in the floral amber fragrance family, with notes of smoked incense, vanilla and iris. All of the ingredients are also ethically sourced, making it responsibly formulated. Although the perfume is usually priced at £144 for an 80ml bottle, now is the perfect time to get your hands on it for less. For a short time, LookFantastic has slashed the price of the limited edition perfume by 50%, bringing it down to just £72. Other beauty retailers have also discounted it the fragrance for a limited time, with Boots taking it down to £86.40 and saving you £57.60, whilst The Perfume Shop has dropped the price to £125, saving you £19. You can however make some serious savings on other perfumes at both retailers right now, so it's a great time to snap up some old favourites too. Boots is currently running a 20% off selected fragrances offer which includes brands like Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace and YSL. Meanwhile The Perfume Shop's summer sale has discounted fragrance favourites like Lancome, Chloe and Jean Paul Gaultier. However if you want to get your hands on the Rabanne Fame The Couture Edition before it sells out (or goes back up in price) then LookFantastic's offer is a must-shop. There's currently only one review of the perfume on the site, saying: 'I received and sampled and love it that much I brought the full size.' However at Boots one shopper praised: 'Not only do I love how great this scent smells, the bottle is so cute that I had to have it as a collector item. The scent is sweeter, richer and has more depth than the regular Fame. Think more fall, evening and seductive. Great purchase that you won't regret!' And another agreed: 'This is really high quality perfume. It lasts all day and a little goes a long way. The vanilla and floral notes really come through, making it perfect for everyday or special occasions.' Others were less impressed, saying: 'This smelled okay. I probably would not purchase it for a high price point but I might wear it out to dinner on occasion. It smells nice, with a slight vanilla scent that wears off rather quickly.' Another said: 'This perfume was overall just okay. Over the course of a few hours I started to feel like just a powdery hand soap as the vanilla scent fades. It does last long and it smells good but not something I would choose to wear.' However perfumes are such a personal thing, it's no surprise that some love it whilst others are less taken with the scent. Another happy shopper wrote: 'Omg this perfume smells amazing! Not a strong or overpowering it's a good floral sweet scent. I can wear this everyday. It's priced very well. And the packaging looks great. I got a small sample but bottle looks so cute! I'd definitely recommend such a sweet sexy scent.' You can pick up the Rabanne Fame The Couture Edition perfume at LookFantastic with 50% off now.
