In the future, Idgah Station is expected to serve as a central station in the city.
"
Located near the Agra collectorate area, Idgah Station is considered more accessible than Agra Fort Station, especially in terms of connectivity and parking.
Shuvam Bajapayee, a resident, told TOI, "This is a welcome move. Idgah Station has ample parking space and is easily accessible. I hope it will soon be equipped with escalators and lifts, like Agra Fort and Agra Cantt Stations, to make movement between platforms easier.
The authorities must also address the issue of unauthorised money collection at stations, which is a common concern for passengers."
On May 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the renovated Idgah Agra Junction, unveiling development projects worth Rs 12.8 crore. The upgrades include expansion and modernisation of the main and secondary station buildings, construction of a new foot overbridge, improved toilet facilities, divyangjan (differently-abled) parking, and installation of digital signage systems.

Bengaluru a huge market to find tourists: Arunachal Minister

Bengaluru: Bengaluru is a huge market for potential tourists, says Arunachal Pradesh tourism minister Pasag Dorjee Sona at the India International Travel Mart tourism exhibition was held here on Thursday. Despite the state getting fewer tourists from Karnataka, Dorjee expressed that Arunachal will explore opportunities to welcome more tourists from the southern part of the country. "Bengaluru is a huge market, that's why we are here. We have not been exploring this side, we have come here for that. We get tourists from Gujarat, Maharashtra, West Bengal and Assam. We get people from the southern part of India also, but not as much as we expected. I think this exhibition will create a lot of visibility for our state," he told TOI. While Arunachal has been infamous for border-related conflicts with China, Dorjee claimed that it does not affect the state's tourism potential but instead increases it through "Border Tourism." "It's a very normal thing, you know. It's not like it's creating any kind of law and order issues or national security concerns. It is very, very safe. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Up to 70% off | Libas Purple Days Sale Libas Undo And that should be another USP because people want to come and visit the border, like how we have seen abroad also, visiting the Demilitarized Zone. Kanchana Fernando, a travel agent from Sri Lanka, attributed his country's wildlife and urban life similar to Bengaluru as a reason to bring in tourists. "Bangalore has a kind of culture similar to Sri Lanka, and there's a lot of activities and wildlife as well. Like we have heritage sites as well along with amazing wildlife. If you want urban life, that's also there, that's why we choose Bangalore," he elaborated. Over the years, Bengaluru airport has become a huge connectivity hub for international tourism. However, industry stakeholders feel that Metro connectivity to the airport can be a game changer for tourism. "The distance is 40 km now, and it still takes an hour. Hope Metro connects to the airport soon. It'll be a game changer to improve connectivity out here," suggested Rohit Hangal, the convenor of the exhibition. MSID:: 122885077 413 |

Sarita Vihar flyover in south Delhi closes partially for urgent repair from today

New Delhi: Delhi Traffic Police will close the Badarpur-Ashram carriageway of the Sarita Vihar flyover for urgent repair and rehabilitation work from Friday. One of the busiest arterial corridors in south Delhi will remain partially shut till Aug 8. According to a traffic advisory, Public Works Department will undertake the round-the-clock repair and structural rehabilitation to ensure long-term safety and maintain smooth traffic flow on the crucial stretch. The traffic police urged commuters to avoid the affected stretch during this period. To manage diversions and prevent bottlenecks, police have suggested two alternatives. The first route is for vehicles coming from Badarpur Border and heading towards Ashram via Mathura Road. These vehicles can take MB Road, proceed to Pul Prahladpur and Lal Kuan, then take the right turn towards Maa Anandmai Marg. Passing through Crown Plaza and Govindpuri, they can turn right towards the Modi Mill flyover and turn left towards Mathura Road to reach Ashram. From there, vehicles can turn right at Crown Plaza, move towards Maa Anandmai Marg and continue through Govindpuri before following the rest of the first route. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like American Investor Warren Buffett Recommends: 5 Books For Turning Your Life Around Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo The movement of heavy and commercial vehicles from Badarpur towards the Sarita Vihar flyover via Mathura Road will be restricted, whenever required, to ensure better traffic regulation and prevent gridlocks.
