1 dead, 2 hurt in fiery SE Bakersfield crash caught on video
The two-vehicle crash was reported just after 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Union and East California Avenues, the Bakersfield Police Department said.
The crash involved a Dodge Charger and a white BMW that burst into flames video from the scene showed.

Police said the the driver of the Charger suffered major injuries in the crash and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the BMW was taken to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. A passenger in the BMW suffered severe injuries and was in an 'unstable condition' at a hospital, police said in a release.
According to investigators, the driver of the BMW was traveling northbound on Union Avenue and ran a red light colliding with the Dodge Charger as the Charger was traveling westbound on East California Avenue.

The identity of the man driving the Dodge Charger will be released at a later time by the Kern County Coroner's Office.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 661-327-7111.

Plenty of people who saw the post surmised that it was simply a quick fix for a busted lock. 'They might be keeping it from coming open,' one said. Six sports cars busted for racing at speeds faster than 100 mph in San Francisco: CHP
(KRON) — The drivers of six different sports cars were busted for racing at speeds faster than 100 mph along San Francisco freeways July 13, according to the California Highway Patrol. Drivers in a Ford Mustang, Toyota Supra and four BMW sedans were first seen driving recklessly on the northbound side of Interstate 280 near Geneva Avenue, according to CHP. '[The cars] were reported to be traveling over 100 mph and weaving in and out of traffic,' CHP said. More than 1,600 pictures of child pornography found at Bay Area man's home: PD The cars continued onto the northbound side of Highway 101 when CHP officers spotted them. The officers pulled two of the cars over as they switched from Highway 101 to eastbound Interstate 80 toward the Bay Bridge. 'The Ford Mustang and a BMW M4 were observed by [officers], who respectively initiated enforcement stops on those two vehicles,' CHP said. 'The Toyota Supra and the three additional BMW sedans continued onto the [Bay Bridge].' Two more CHP officers tracked down the remaining four cars and stopped them on Treasure Island. All six drivers were ticketed for traffic violations, including unsafe speeds and mechanical violations. One of the BMWs also had expired registration and the car was towed from the scene. Police dog behind £250,000 criminal cash haul dies after collision
A police dog who once sniffed out £250,000 in criminal cash and took part in Queen Elizabeth II's funeral has died after a crash. PD Bert, a five-year-old springer spaniel with Cleveland Police, was in a dog support unit vehicle with an officer and another dog when it collided with a BMW in Hartlepool at about 9pm on Thursday. Both dogs were taken to a veterinary clinic, where one was found to be uninjured. Because of the severity of his injuries, PD Bert was put to sleep. The officer suffered minor injuries. A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene and later charged with drink driving. He has been bailed to appear at Teesside Magistrates' Court on August 1. PD Bert had served with the force for three and a half years, using his skills to detect drugs, firearms and large sums of money. He was praised for locating £250,000 during a single search and had been deployed to London as part of the policing operation during the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
