‘Four Years Later' actor Akshay Ajit: Love teaches you how to deal with your own vulnerabilities

Time of India5 days ago
The romanticized version of love sometimes talks about big fantasies, happily ever after, but doesn't highlight the effort that goes behind building and maintaining a relationship. However, the latest OTT project, '
Four Years Later
', sheds light on almost every aspect of love. It talks about its beauty, the not-so-subtle sacrifices, and the mountain of work that goes behind it. And when we sat with 'Four Years Later' actor
Akshay Ajit
on the topic of love, he had a wholesome response.
'Love is one of the most fulfilling feelings in the world. It teaches you so many things. It teaches you patience, perseverance, how to deal with yourself, how to deal with your own vulnerabilities, how to show up fully as yourself,' said Akshay Ajit in his exclusive conversation with ETimes.
'So it's so many beautiful encompassing things and just this one beautiful little word called love,' he mentioned with a smile.
In 'Four Years Later,' Akshay's character moves away from his wife right after they get married. Their so-called honeymoon period, the time when a couple gets the window to truly know one another, isn't granted to them, as Akshay had to travel for work. The entire series is about the couple finding their relationship amid the chaos of long-distance. When we asked Akshay what it takes for a
long-distance relationship
to work, he said, 'I think for me, it has to be radical accountability for yourself and your emotions.'
He continued, 'A lot of times, I feel like relationships are mirrors. When you're getting triggered, you need to understand whether there is something within you that needs to be worked upon, rather than putting it on your partner.'
He said this applies to all kinds of relationships. 'Whether it be long distance or whether it be cohabitation, whether it be living together or marriage, most relationships are like mirrors, and they provide a great way for us to grow and learn. The more accountability we take in a relationship, the healthier individuals we become, and we show up in a fuller, happier, and more authentic way.'
'If you can create that safe space not only for yourself but also for your partner, I think that's a beautiful relationship to have,' concluded the actor.

Akshay Quit Barsaat After Media 'Mentioned Of A Relationship' With Priyanka, Recalls Producer

Last Updated: Akshay Kumar walked out of Barsaat amid buzz of tensions with Priyanka Chopra. Producer Suneel Darshan recalls how the sudden exit left him shocked. Filmmaker Suneel Darshan recently opened up about Akshay Kumar's sudden exit from the 2005 romantic drama Barsaat, which originally starred him along with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif. The producer-director, who has collaborated with Akshay in several films over the years, revealed that the actor backed out after shooting a romantic song with Priyanka, allegedly due to issues in his personal life. Barsaat was eventually done by Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu. Speaking to journalist Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel, Suneel said, 'Barsaat was designed immediately after Andaaz to again be a triangular love story with a new dimension, and Akshay was cast in the lead role." He recalled how Akshay had date issues and asked for a slight postponement, which the producer agreed to. Romantic Track With Priyanka Already Shot Suneel had already recorded the music and even filmed a song featuring Akshay and Priyanka. However, delays crept in when Priyanka had to travel for international commitments. 'Priyanka Chopra had some international shows for which she was out for 3 months. So the film kept getting delayed," he explained. By the time she returned and it was time to begin the final leg of the shoot, Akshay invited Suneel to his set, something unusual, as they always met at the producer's office. 'He called me to inform me that there were some issues which were uncontrollable and had repercussions on his personal life. He asked me to take a decision on how we move forward." Was It Priyanka or Him? Producer Opens Up While rumours of a relationship between Akshay and Priyanka had already caught the media's attention, Suneel clarified that it wasn't about Akshay refusing to work with her. 'Either of them, the circumstances had reached such a point where… there were issues," he said, adding that the actor left it up to the producer to choose between the two. He continued, 'The audience, the public, the media did mention of a relationship, which the wife got more of…" Suneel further revealed, 'Suddenly after asking that person to wait for 18 months for your dates, you one day just say, 'Sorry, I can't be a part of it.' I was shocked." Akshay Promised Compensation But It Wasn't Enough Though Akshay reportedly offered to do another film to make up for it, Suneel chose not to proceed with him. 'He did want to compensate by saying that I did the next film for you. But I did not. I just thought this was unbelievable. Coming from Akshay… your expectations were never too much." Despite the setback, the producer harboured no hard feelings. 'He had promised me he would want to do 100 movies with me. I managed to do seven," Suneel concluded. Sarzameen: Fans finally hear Ibrahim Ali Khan's voice in new promo; netizens ask ‘can tomorrow come any quicker'

Earlier this year in March, Saif Ali Khan's son Ibrahim Ali Khan made his Bollywood debut with Nadaaniyan, opposite Janhvi Kapoor's sister Khushi Kapoor. The two sadly failed to impress audiences and were brutally trolled for their poor performances. But fans as well as critics were open to giving the debutante another chance. So when it was announced that Ibrahim is returning to our screens with Sarzameen alongside Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran, we were obviously excited. The trailer further raised expectations, but netizens had one complaint — Ibrahim was impactful but had zero dialogues. Well, the man has now spoken in the film's newest promo. Ibrahim Ali Khan in Sarzameen That's right! A day before release, the makers of Sarzameen have dropped a brand new teaser starring Ibrahim Ali Khan. As we already witnessed in the trailer, Ibrahim's character is Kajol and Prithviraj Sukumaran's son who has somehow turned into a terrorist. In this clip, Ibrahim delivers a powerful dialogue. The star kid says, 'Haqeekat hun, ya sirf ek rooh. Kaun hun? Khoon mein lipta kafan hun. Dafan kiya koi kissa hun. Nafrat hun, tabahi hun, naa thamne waala toofan hun. Aa raha hun. Pooch lena apni Sarzameen se, kaun hun.' Well, fans are here for it! Under this video, many fans showered love. One such social media user gushed, 'THIS IS SO POWERFUL,' whereas another asked, 'CAN TOMORROW COME ANY QUICKER.' A comment read, 'What a performance Ibrahim Ali Khan bro❤️❤️,' while another wrote, 'Saif Ali khan ka beta ha sabit kardiya isne.' One fan even stated, 'Zabardast acting bro.' Clearly, Sarzameen has left a much deeper impact than Nadaaniyan on audiences, even before the film has released. Backed by filmmaker Karan Johar, Sarzameen marks the directorial debut of Boman Irani's son Kayoze Irani, who was Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra's co-star in their debut film Student of the Year (2012). The film is set to arrive on OTT on July 25.
