India's 'hydro terrorism' untenable: COAS
According to the military's media wing, the army chief made these remarks during his visit to Command and Staff College Quetta, where he addressed student officers and faculty members, touching upon operational readiness, regional stability, and Pakistan's national security doctrine.
"Pakistan's enemies will fail in their attempts to distract us from our focus on counterterrorism," Field Marshal Munir was quoted as saying by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), adding that the nation stands united in the defence of its sovereignty. He also underscored the need for a peaceful resolution to the internationally recognised Kashmir dispute.
The remarks come amid recent tensions between Pakistan and India following a series of military engagements triggered by the deadly Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists. India blamed Pakistan without evidence, prompting a chain of events that escalated into full-fledged cross-border hostilities.
India's use of force was met with a calibrated military response under Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, which targeted Indian air assets, ammunition depots, and missile bases along the Line of Control and beyond. The operation formed part of a broader campaign, Marka-e-Haq, which ran from May 7 to May 10.
Paying tribute to the martyrs of the operation, the COAS said the people of Pakistan had become a "wall of steel" under national leadership. "Marka-e-Haq is a testimony to our resolve, unity, and complete synergy among all elements of national power," he said, adding, "Allah's help comes to those nations that stand for the truth and fight with unity."
Highlighting the changing nature of modern warfare, the COAS said Pakistan's military remained prepared to respond across the full spectrum of conflict. He particularly criticised India's growing tendency to resort to unprovoked military aggression, cautioning that strategic stability in South Asia was increasingly fragile and hinged on justice, especially in Kashmir.

He vowed to expose India's role in fuelling instability, especially in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying: 'I will go there personally and tell the whole world what India has done. I will reveal how deeply your government is involved in terrorism in Pakistan. Our entire party, led by Imran Khan, and the Pakistani nation, are united in defending our country.' He further said that India orchestrated attacks on Chinese nationals, strategic infrastructure, and other assets in Pakistan, saying that all such incidents are ultimately linked to Indian interests. Marka-e-Haq celebrations kicks off in Hyderabad
HYDERABAD: The District Administration of Hyderabad has officially launched the celebrations for Independence Day and Victory of Truth, 'Marka-e-Haq' with a vibrant rally led by Deputy Commissioner Zain-ul-Abideen Memon. The event began from Shahbaz Building and proceeded to the Post Master General Chowk, marking the formal start of a series of festivities planned from August 1 to 14. The rally saw enthusiastic participation from Assistant Commissioners of all four talukas District Health Officer, officers from the district police and traffic departments, as well as officials from Local Government, Highways Department, Culture Department, and Social Welfare Departments. School children and women also joined in large numbers, waving national flags, holding banners, and chanting patriotic slogans. He also noted that August 4 will be observed as Martyrs' Day, and August 5 as Exploitation Day, with various events planned to commemorate both occasions. JI to hold rallies for Kashmir, Palestine
KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Monem Zafar Khan announced that protests, rallies, and demonstrations will be held across the city on August 5 to mark 'Youm-e-Istehsal-e-Kashmir' in solidarity with the people of Kashmir and Palestine. He was addressing a press conference at the party's headquarters, Idara Noor-e-Haq on Friday Monem Zafar condemned the Indian government's abrogation of Article 370 and equated the actions of India in Kashmir and Israel in Gaza, criticizing the global silence over the humanitarian crises in both regions. He particularly called out the Muslim world for failing to take a firm stand against the use of starvation as a weapon in Gaza, where he said over 60,000 civilians had been killed and many more were now dying of hunger. He urged Pakistan's military leadership, particularly Field Marshal Asim Munir, to spearhead efforts to unite the Muslim world against Israeli atrocities, saying Pakistan, as a nuclear power, has a greater responsibility. Turning to Karachi's deteriorating law and order, Monem Zafar cited alarming figures: 56 people killed in street crimes, over 26,000 motorcycles snatched or stolen, and 354 lives lost in traffic accidents over the past six months. He criticized the Sindh government for failing to act, accusing it of focusing on revenue collection through vehicle number plates while ignoring its basic duties. He demanded the government issue number plates free of cost, noting that citizens had already paid for them. He said the administration had lost its writ in Karachi, pointing to poor services, broken infrastructure, and lack of clean water and electricity. He also questioned the Pakistan Peoples Party's claims about building 800,000 houses for flood victims, calling for transparency and urging clarity on the K4 water project's funding shortfall.
