Karan Johar's Rs 32 cr Mumbai duplex has a bedroom-turned-closet, Hollywood-style glam room; designer Gauri Khan called it ‘subtly over-the-top'
Karan Johar's apartment has been featured in many videos. During his interaction with Asian Paints, Karan shared a look at his living room, which has several cozy sofas. The filmmaker pointed out that while most of the sofas are in different shades of beige, he added a green and blue sofa to break the monotony. The living space is also decked up with a grand chandelier that ties together the cozy and luxurious vibe of the room.
Adjacent to the living room is the dining area, which boasts a large dining table made of wood and marble. Karan revealed that he often conducts meetings at this very table. In fact, he, Alia Bhatt, and Ranveer Singh held discussions about Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani at this spot.
During the chat, Karan Johar admitted that Shah Rukh Khan's wife and his close friend, Gauri Khan, designed the apartment for him. Interestingly, Karan shared that he had not even seen his home before Gauri completed its interiors. He told Architectural Digest India, 'I have no contribution to it. This is Gauri Khan's baby. The night we called really close friends for dinner was the night I saw the house for the first time, so when I was showing it, I was also seeing it.'
Karan then takes the viewers to his bedroom, which features a cozy bed. However, the highlight for most viewers is the massive closet space attached to his bedroom. Known for owning exclusive attire and accessories from global luxury brands like Balenciaga, Gucci, and Prada, Karan revealed in the clip that he converted an entire bedroom into a closet to accommodate his extensive collection of branded jackets, shoes, and bags.
The filmmaker also has a separate glam room featuring a large mirror surrounded by lights. The room includes a vintage-style glam chair reminiscent of classic Hollywood.
Karan also shared a look at his deck, which is furnished with patio furniture. The area is adorned with tall plants and features white and blue patio decor. 'This feels like some kind of Amazonian jungle where greenery is coming at you from everywhere,' Karan said while describing the space.
In a video featured on Farah Khan's YouTube channel, Karan Johar showcased the lower portion of his duplex apartment, which serves as his office. Farah guided viewers through the space, which includes a bar and large leather sofas where Karan listens to scripts and holds meetings. The staircase connecting the two levels of the apartment is made of wood, with a glass railing and brass-toned finishings.
The 8,000-square-foot apartment, located on Carter Road in Bandra, is valued between Rs 30- 32 crore. According to MagicBricks, the estimated rate is approximately Rs 40,000 per square foot. Karan bought this apartment in 2010.

Maa Box Office Collection Day 10: Kajol's Horror Thriller Crosses Rs 30-Crore Mark
Kajol's first horror film, Maa, released on June 27, 2025, has been performing well at the box office. By the second Sunday, it crossed the Rs 30 crore mark. Kajol's first horror movie Maa is doing really well in theatres! The film, which released on June 27, has been getting a great response from the audience. Even in its second week, it's pulling in strong numbers. On Sunday (July 6), Maa crossed the Rs 30 crore mark at the box office. Maa seems to be picking up pace again at the box office. As per early numbers from Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 2.35 crore on its 10th day (Sunday), showing a clear jump from Saturday's collection of Rs 1.75 crore. Thanks to the weekend boost, the Kajol-starrer has now crossed the Rs 30 crore milestone, bringing its total earnings to Rs 31.60 crore. The film has managed to stay strong through its second week. Directed by Vishal Furia, Maa has held its own despite facing tough competition from biggies like Sitaare Zameen Par and Kannappa. Maa had opened with Rs 4.65 crore on its first day. In Maa, a mythological horror thriller, Kajol takes on the powerful role of Ambika, a fearless mother who will stop at nothing to protect her daughter from dark, supernatural forces. The film blends myth and mystery, marking Kajol's first foray into the horror genre. Alongside her, the cast includes Indraneil Sengupta, Jitin Gulati, and Kherin Sharma. Directed by Vishal Furia, Maa is backed by producers Ajay Devgn and Jyoti Subbarayan. A part of the review of Maa by News18 read, 'The concept and story have substance, but the film lacked largely because of its style of storytelling. Besides, the film also has a lot of stereotypes that could have been done without. Besides the exaggeration that the palace had a almost 30-feet tall Kali maa's stone carved statue, the way people from Chandrapur talk in the film, everything seems to be a cliche that all the Bengalis would be running away from. It only gets disappointing to see Ronit Roy, who plays a vital part in the film, deliver all his Hindi dialogues with such a heavy Bengali accent. A lot would argue that it is not how people from Bengal speak when they talk in Hindi." First Published:

Jurassic World Rebirth earned Rs 15.75 crore on Sunday, its third day at the Indian box office. In comparison, its earnings were more than double of those of the only Bollywood release this week — Anurag Basu's romantic anthology Metro… In Dino, which made Rs 7.25 crore at the domestic box office on its third day. As per Sacnilk, Jurassic World Rebirth has dominated the Indian box office this weekend with the same margin throughout. On its opening day on Friday, July 4, the Scarlett Johnsson-starrer earned Rs 9 crore, again more than the double of how much Metro… In Dino made on the same day, Rs 3.5 crore. This continued on Saturday, July 5, as well. While Metro… In Dino earned Rs 6 crore, Jurassic World Rebirth made more than its double at Rs 13.5 crore. The India earnings are across all four versions — the native English version reserves the lion's share, followed by the dubbed Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu versions respectively. Jurassic World Rebirth became the first Hollywood film to have a grand premiere for its Hindi dubbed version last Thursday at the iconic Raj Mandir cinema in Jaipur. Interestingly, the first instalment of this popular franchise — Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park (1993) — was one of the first Hollywood films to be dubbed in Hindi. Jurassic World Rebirth vs F1 box office The current Indian box office collection of Jurassic World Rebirth stands at Rs 38.25 crore, again more than the double of that of Metro… In Dino, which earned Rs 16.75 crore over the opening weekend. The Indian opening weekend collection of Jurassic World Rebirth is also higher than that of Joseph Kosinski's action thriller F1, starring Brad Pitt, which made Rs 21.40 crore last month.
