Here at Man of Many, we're often given the opportunity to try out products ahead of time for review, but sometimes our favourite things are just the things we already own, or have purchased ourselves. So, each week, we strive to show off a few of our own, personal favourite products or experiences in the hopes that we can help people make better buying decisions.

I've been testing a few earphones recently, and I've got something cool to share. Audio brand Skullcandy have delivered a really, really good pair of earphones—the Skullcandy Method 360 ANC—which have some of the best audio quality in an in-ear format I've yet used. That partially comes from the fact these earphones are made in collaboration with Bose, one of the best audio makers in the biz.
Now, the Method 360 ANC look very (and sound) similar to Bose' Quiet Comfort earbuds, but they're about $100 cheaper, which is always a nice thing, and they have some fantastic active noise cancelling for when you're moving about the noisy city. Plus, when you sync them up with the Skull-iQ app on your phone you can customise how the earbuds act when you tap them, play with the ANC, and set more specific EQ levels if you're after a particular sound.
That's all great, but they also come in a frankly massive charging case that delivers an additional 20+ hours of battery life, charges with USB-C, and can be clipped onto your bag or something if you want to be able to access them at a moments notice. They're great, and if you're in the market for some new earbuds, these ones are only AUD$189.99.

Forget Calendly – Enter Google Calendar Appointments

You know that graveyard of unused productivity apps sitting on your phone or in the bookmarks toolbar of your browser? The ones that guzzle up subscription fees before you're none the wiser? Well, one of those for me was the 'Calendly' app.
Brilliant product, absolutely, but it probably gathered more dust than bookings on my calendar. It just wasn't something I really used, yet it was costing me lots of money. Enter the Google Calendar Appointment Schedule, which essentially achieves the exact same thing at the amazing price of $0.
I love that you can carve out time for the gym each day or mark an entire Friday as 'Do Not Disturb'. Your colleagues or clients only see the slots you want them to book, and the meeting is locked in with no extra email back and forth or a request to send you a calendar invite.
To get it set up, go to Google Calendar > hit Create > then Appointment Schedule > add any details you need and voila, your booking calendar is now complete. The link provides live updates and automatically hides times that clash with your other events. You can also add in a handy buffer between meetings if you need and don't wish for back-to-backs. The paid Google Workspace plans come with some added benefits, like being able to charge for your time. Give it a go and let me know what you think!

I'm the kind of guy who'll study dining menus like an HSC Advanced English text before booking a place to eat, but sitting down for an Omakase where you surrender all control and expectations to the chef and the restaurant team was such a surprising breath of fresh air.
The 18-seat kappo-style restaurant is the brain-child of Darren Templeman (formerly Restaurant Atelier), but he runs it with head chef Bonnie Yu and sommelier Aurelien Jeffredo. There's no printed menu, only a 10-course omakase shaped by the day's produce and the team's instincts. Just vibes, really.
Inside, it's just one long, narrow counter with 18 seats lined up with a full view of the kitchen. While it always feels busy, there's this weird sense of calm. The three-person team moves like they've done this a hundred times. Smooth, in sync, no fuss.
The highlight, though, is the food. I couldn't tell you exactly what we ate (there was no menu to snap a photo of), but I remember the flavour sensations having a party in my mouth. A few dishes are still burned into memory, though: the warm hen's egg filled with onion purée and topped with trout roe, and a buttery lobster tail grilled over charcoal. Yum!

This Fuel-Station-Like EV Charging Centre in California Gave Me Hope About the Future of EVs

Learn more. For more information on how we test products, click here. I've driven more than 100 EVs and the story is always the same when it comes to charging—it sucks! I could count the positive charging experiences I've had using the public network on one hand, and it's only getting worse. Despite an increase in the number of EV chargers, it hasn't grown at the rate of electric vehicle sales. These days, when a charger isn't broken, slow, or 'ICED' by a petrol vehicle, you're lining up and waiting to charge with all the other frustrated EV owners. It's a painful experience that needs to change quickly, or else the government and the manufacturers risk losing an already slowing battle for sales with Australian EV customers. I find it increasingly difficult to recommend electric vehicles to some people based on my own experiences. With the current state of affairs, I wouldn't recommend buying an EV unless you have access to an EV charger at home or your workplace. However, on a recent trip around California behind the wheel of an EV, I experienced a fuel-station-like charging centre that reset my perspective on the future of EVs. If we want EVs to become the norm, the charging network has to look something like this. I had just finished my drive from Los Angeles to San Bernardino, and I was hunting for an ultra-fast EV charger on PlugShare. The Cadillac VISTIQ I was driving was low on battery, and while the 300 miles (482km) of charge it offers is good, I was driving to Big Bear tomorrow, and with 8,000ft of elevation to conquer, I needed a full charge to make it there are back. This is California, so I had plenty of options to choose from, but I stumbled across something that looked too good to be true—an EV charging oasis with 41 ultra-fast chargers. Greenlane Charging Centre in Colton, CA 92324, USA is a commercial electric vehicle charging centre that services electric trucks along Interstate 10, which is one of the country's busiest highways. It's home to 41 chargers, mainly for trucks, and while I was there, I witnessed multiple truck drivers pull up, decouple their trailer, put their truck on charge, and then swap to another fully-charged truck before reconnecting their trailer and continuing with their journey. Even that blew me away, but I was here to charge my Cadillac. What I found was a seamless and fast experience that felt exactly like visiting a petrol station. While my Cadillac VISTIQ couldn't make the most of the ultra-fast 400 kW chargers, even the 180 kW of power that I was putting into the large 102 kWh battery meant that I could charge from 10-80% in under 30 minutes. Winner! If I had been there with a Hyundai Ioniq 6 or Porsche Taycan, I could've charged at 350 kW and left there in around 20 minutes. It's the future of EVs that we had all been promised. You pay for the convenience, and with a cost of $0.59 per kWh, I was charged the equivalent of AUD$80 to charge the car, which is not far off the cost of refuelling a car in California. Still, it was an experience that left me wondering how different life could be here in Australia if we had charging locations like this, and the energy to supply them. So what's happening here in Australia to bring us closer to that perfect EV future? The NSW Government recently committed $199 million to help co-fund the installation of chargers with private operators. However, it's unclear how many of these new chargers are the much-needed ultra-fast DC units like those I experienced in California. We only know four things for sure: The new chargers will be installed every 5km along Sydney's major commuter corridors Every 100km along major highways in NSW, on average Within 5km of residential areas with limited off-street parking, and In or near commuter car parks and other Transport for NSW-owned land. It's more likely that the chargers being installed are medium-speed 50 kW DC units that can charge an EV in closer to 2 hours. If they're not, they're likely slower AC chargers like those that the local government keeps trying to attach to telephone poles (even though you'd have to sit there for 10 hours to charge a car at one). However, I'd love to be proven wrong! For now, it still sucks to charge an EV in Australia, but the Greenlane Charging Centre in Colton, California gave me hope that where there's a will, there's a way when it comes to the future of EVs.

Yes, that's right, we're already (almost) exactly halfway through 2025. Let that sink in. If you are feeling a little disappointed that you haven't made good on all those New Year's resolutions or managed to completely overhaul your life, don't stress. Think of this as a strong reset to get you back on track and running at 100 per cent. Take it from us; there's still a lot of progress to be made in 2025, and on a more topical note, there are many more Staff Favourites to come. Here's another. Dyson OnTrac over-ear headphones | Image: Supplied Dyson OnTrac Headphones Nick Hall – Editor-in-Chief For years, I've been a earbud fan, sticking loyally to my Sennheiser True Wireless 4s, but this week I finally made the change. Well, I was kind of forced to. After dropping an earbud and standing on it, the teeny, tiny headphones finally gave up and died, prompting me to look elsewhere for some auditory help. Thankfully, I have a set of Dyson OnTrac over-ear headphones that I generally use for studio purposes, mainly because they are fantastically for sound isolation, but also because I feel like a little too big and bulky to wear while running or out on the town. At least, that's what I thought. I have been using the OnTracs all week and honestly, I'm not sure what my apprehension was. The design is super ergonomic and they aren't anywhere near as large as I remember them being. In fact, the earcups feel more streaminlined than my wife's Panasonics and the sound quality has been an absolute game-changer. If you are looking to up your headphone game, Dyson has knocked these ones out of the park. Favourite Article of the Week: For Lark's Chris Thomson, Whisky-Making is All About the 'Intangibles' North Shore Sctt Purcell – Co-Founder It's pretty rare that I come across an Aussie production that I like, but Netflix's gripping new series North Shore is definitely one of them. A cross between a U.K. crime drama and Home and Away, the six-episode mini-series is a traditional murder mystery detective show with the familiarity of a city in which I grew up. Watching it, I wondered whether it had to be funded by Destination NSW or the City of Sydney, as the visuals, landscapes and filming of the city are just stunning. It's also a great story, and while the acting and weird attempts at Aussie accents sometimes throw you off, it's a gripping watch. Let's hope that there's more to come from Australian productions like this. As I was writing this, I had no idea that this came out in 2023 on Channel 10! Perhaps I'm late to the game on this one, but it's been my pick of the week. I've also got my annual boys' golfing trip coming up, and with a pretty trashy handicap, I thought it was time to up my game. At least in the gear I had. While I've got a decent set of clubs, I was lacking the added extras and accessories, so I forked out and bought the following. Feel free to use it if you want to splurge on your next trip! Favourite Article of the Week: 'F1 The Movie' Review: Brad Pitt Racer Delivers on the Need for Speed Me on the 'Two Men In Your Head Podcast' | Image: Frank Arthur/Man of Many Two Men In Your Head Podcast Frank Arthur – Co-Founder This week, I'm giving a shout-out to Damien House and Phil Hungerford, hosts of the show Two Men in Your Head on Koori Radio and podcast. The concept is straightforward: get blokes talking. Each episode, Damien invites footy legends, musos, community leaders and people with a personal story to share into the studio for an honest yarn about life's wins and wobbles. The concept is warm, witty and refreshingly free of judgement, offering a safe space to tackle men's mental health topics that are too often swept under the carpet. I ducked in earlier this week to share my story, growing up in regional Australia as an immigrant kid, building Man of Many, and the lessons learned along the way. Perched on top of the gorge in Joadja, the site offers uninterrupted views of the Wingecarribee River that stretch as far as the eye can see. There are just four campsites on the property, each privately tucked away among the trees. The natural separation gives you a real sense of peace and seclusion, the perfect setup to truly switch off and unwind. Sitting on 100 acres of land, the property has plenty of bushwalks for those who feel like exploring. Along the trails, you'll stumble across rustic tables and chairs strategically placed to soak up some truly incredible views, especially at sunrise and sunset. Other activities include spending time with the friendly farm animals: horses, a donkey, an alpaca, and a lively mix of free-ranging peacocks, chooks, ducks, and guinea fowl, making it a truly family-friendly campsite. Got a furry friend? No dramas, they're welcome too. The campsite host, Leanne, takes things to the next level by providing a gourmet hamper service that can be delivered to your campsite. After spending the day hiking and exploring, coming back to a premade hamper to enjoy around a fire was a day maker. If you're into camping, Joadja Gorge Retreat & Camping should definitely be on your list. It was a magical time and a place I'm itching to get back to. Favourite Article of the Week: 100 + Best EOFY Sales For 2025: Deals on TVs, Laptops and Headphones Denis Villeneuve to Direct New James Bond Film | Image: Warner Bros. Denis Villeneuve to Helm Bond 26 Rob Edwards – Branded Content Editor While it's a less conventional choice than the endless parade of jackets, sunglasses, watches, and guitars I usually put forward for Staff Favourites, this week I feel compelled to include the announcement that Denis Villeneuve will be taking the reins for the next instalment in the Bond franchise. As much as I enjoy the Bond movies, I'm a much bigger fan of Villeneuve, and the thought of this singular talent applying his mastery to one of cinema's most enduring franchises makes me giddy, particularly as he'll be laying the foundation for an entirely new incarnation of the world's most famous spy. Why am I so excited? Well, this is the man responsible for Sicario, Blade Runner 2049, the outstanding Dune movies, and Prisoners, to name a few. But above all, if you want to know what he's really capable of, be sure to investigate his incredible 2010 film Incendies. Just be warned that it will haunt you forever. Favourite Article of the Week: Denis Villeneuve Bond Film Confirmed: 'Dune' Director to Helm Next 007 Movie Chernobyl Alex Martinez – Media Sales and Brand Partnerships Definitely late to the party on this HBO miniseries (released in 2019), but Chernobyl is a really great watch. It's only five episodes so you can smash this out in a week if you try hard enough. The series captures the harrowing truth of the nuclear disaster with realism and emotional depth. The performances, writing, and cinematography are all exceptional, creating a gripping and unforgettable viewing experience.
