NO BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN fan should feel short-changed. Since he released his debut album in 1973, the Boss (pictured top) has put out another 20 studio albums, 78 singles and 121 live albums. On June 27th his hordes of fans—some 20m listen to his music every month on Spotify—will get access to a new trove of work. 'Tracks II: The Lost Albums' collates unheard recordings from a 35-year period into seven albums. Mr Springsteen may be trying to make a profit from the music he still owns (he sold the rights to his studio albums to Sony for a reported $500m in 2021). Yet there is treasure here: in the dark electronica of 'Streets of Philadelphia Sessions', the sophisticated retro-pop of 'Twilight Hours' and the country stylings of 'Somewhere North of Nashville'. Here is a selection of great lost (but rediscovered) albums whose roster they join.

Spotify is the most used streaming service in the world, with over 350 million users worldwide. The platform is highly accessible and offers an immense music catalogue for people to explore. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad However, Spotify trades off some of its music quality for this availability, with rivals such as Tidal, Qobuz, Amazon Music, and Apple Music offering a wider range of listening options with varying levels of quality. Steve Helliker, hi-fi music streaming expert and founding director of Ultimate Stream, shares his advice on getting the most out of your Spotify subscription: 'Most people simply press play on their preferred music when using streaming services, but there are a number of playback settings you may not know about that can vastly improve your listening experience.' Equaliser settings The equaliser allows you to adjust the audio frequencies of your music. Spotify provides 5-6 adjustable nodes that alter playback. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Increasing deeper frequencies while reducing higher ones emphasises the bass, making it ideal for hip-hop and electronic music, whereas the opposite is better suited to classical music. To access the equaliser, go to Settings and Privacy > Playback > Equaliser. You can manually adjust all the nodes or choose from a range of preset options to best suit your listening preferences. Preset equaliser settings include: Pop R&B Rock Acoustic Bass Boosted Vocal Booster Audio quality You can also adjust the quality level of your music, with four settings ranging from Low to High (plus a fifth setting, Very High, available to Spotify Premium subscribers). This allows you to control playback quality when using the app and can be set separately for Wi-Fi and mobile streaming. One thing to be aware of is that listening in High or Very High quality while on mobile data will use more data, so be mindful of your usage when changing this setting. Mono audio Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Disabling mono audio creates a more spatial sound and allows you to hear the music as the artist intended. This is particularly important for tracks where certain sounds are designed to play across different headphones. While some may not always enjoy this experience, real audiophiles will likely want to hear songs in their original format. This setting is often automatically turned off, but this may not be the case for every user, so it's important to check your settings. Loud/Normal/Quiet You can also choose a volume level in the Playback settings, selecting between Loud, Normal, and Quiet. Karate Kid villain denies sexually harassing woman on set amid ongoing shock biting scandal
Cobra Kai actor Martin Kove last year faced a sexual harassment probe from Sony for his conduct on his set of The Karate Kid adaptation, after a female extra said he made her uncomfortable with his behavior. 'It wasn't true then, and it isn't true now,' the Brooklyn, New York City-born actor, 78, told Deadline on Thursday of the complaints made against him more than a year ago. Sources told the outlet that the extra complained Kove had been 'leering' and 'verbally overt' toward her on the Atlanta set of the adapted film franchise. The woman subsequently complained to producers he was making her feel uncomfortable, and Sony launched a probe into the incident. Reports of the Sony investigation into the actor come after Kove admittedly bit costar Alicia Hannah-Kim at a fan event on June 22 in Puyallup, Washington, claiming he was immersed in their respective roles on the series. Daily Mail has reached out to Kove's reps for further details on the incident. Kove - who portrayed the role of villainous karate instructor John Kreese in the first three Karate Kid film in the 1980s - told the outlet that he didn't do anything wrong. Kove, who has reprised his role of Kreese on 57 episodes of Cobra Kai since 2018, said that he was honest when questioned about his behavior by Sony officials looking into the 2024 claim. 'If there was something to confess, I would be the first to say it,' Kove said. He added: 'Sony did ask me about the alleged incident, and I was completely transparent.' The veteran actor, who has been active in Tinseltown for more that five decades, said the timing of the news going public was suspect. 'This is so bizarre,' he said, 'as it was in April of last year.' According to the outlet, the initial complaint had enough merit to pursue further investigation. A source told Deadline the actor 'was read the riot act' by producers and executives who met with him to discuss the issue as the show filmed its final season. The actor ultimately was 'encouraged by Sony and producers to stay in his trailer' as the situation was sorted out, but that he was never asked to leave the set, insiders told the outlet. Studio officials and producers told Kove he should say sorry to the person who complained about his actions, the outlet reported, adding that it was 'unclear' if he took them up on the suggestion. Kove did not suffer 'any precise consequences' as result of the incident, sources told the outlet, and Kove 'declined to answer questions or confirm details' beyond his earlier remarks. Kove did issue a statement about the June 22 biting incident to the outlet, expressing remorse and regret toward the way he behaved toward Hannah-Kim at the Summer Con event. 'I deeply regret and apologize for my actions regarding the incident with Alicia, a genuinely kind and wonderful person who didn't deserve to be put in this position,' Kove told the outlet. 'I've always respected her and considered her a highly professional and talented co-worker on Cobra Kai. 'I was being playful in the moment but went too far and there is absolutely no excuse for my behavior. I regret my actions for which I take full responsibility for what I did, and again I apologize to her and her husband.' He wrapped up in saying, 'I'm committed to learning from this and it will never happen again.' Cobra Kai, starring Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan and Mary Mouser,ran a total of six seasons. The series - was created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossber - dropped its last five episodes February 13.

'I was a huge star in 1990s but devastating diagnosis forced me out of limelight'
Alannah Myles was propelled to fame in the early 1990s with her iconic hit Black Velvet, but 36 years after releasing her self-titled debut album, the singer has been through a hidden struggle Rewinding over 30 years, soft rock enthusiasts couldn't get enough of the Canadian songstress Alannah Myles and her legendary anthem 'Black Velvet'. The single catapulted Myles to international fame, topping charts in the United States and earning her the prestigious Grammy Award. However, 36 years on from her eponymous debut album, Alannah has endured unseen battles away from the spotlight. Her ascent to fame largely came on the back of 'Black Velvet', an ode to Elvis Presley, its lyrics a poignant representation of his life and charm. It's said that the inspiration for 'Black Velvet' struck Alannah after she visited Memphis for the 10th anniversary of the King of Rock n Roll's passing. Reflecting in 2021, the artist remarked: "It is a country blues song with a chorus, ushering in a time when country music won the hearts of the masses away from disco, punk, and grunge music. If it was a crappy song no one would remember it." The track hasn't just garnered a staggering 358 million streams on Spotify; it also impressed the critics, bagging the award for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance at the 1991 Grammys in addition to multiple Juno Awards on her home turf, reports the Mirror US. Facing immense anticipation for her follow-up release, Alannah presented her second album 'Rockinghorse', which featured renowned tracks such as 'Our World Our Times' and 'Song Instead of a Kiss'. She would indeed receive another Grammy nomination, but her subsequent album didn't quite reach the success of her initial release. Following two more albums in the 90s, 'Alannah' and 'A Rival', she took a hiatus from music. In subsequent years, Myles encountered significant health hurdles that drastically affected her life. In 2017, the singer sustained a severe leg injury that was far from a minor inconvenience, severely limiting her mobility and confining her largely to her home for an extended period. Allanah was also diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, an auto-immune condition affecting spinal joints. This ailment can lead to intense stiffness and pain in her back during routine activities and even cause discomfort as she sits. In a conversation with City News, she disclosed: "Now I have issues with being able to sit. That's why when you see me in concert, you see me on a chair. I'm sitting upright. It's painful for me to sit down, so I can't really go anywhere. "I can't sit in a wheelchair. I can't go to a concert, parties, or even medical visits without a padded stretcher. I have no life now as a result of not being able to get myself up independently which makes it only worse... I can get up to walk, but I need help doing it." Despite the disease affecting her physical health, Alannah remained resilient and continued to produce new music. In 2018, she reunited her former band and re-recorded some of her iconic hits, independently releasing them separate from her previous label.
