Sharing about her role in The Pickup, Eva Longoria revealed that her character isn't just a background presence but a crucial part of the storyline.
Eva Longoria is all set to appear in The Pickup, a fast-paced action-comedy that will premiere on Prime Video on August 6. The film also stars Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson and Keke Palmer. Directed by Tim Story, known for hits like Ride Along and Barbershop, the film is written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider.
At the centre of it all is Murphy's character Russell, a seasoned armored truck driver whose routine day goes off track when his vehicle is ambushed by a gang led by Zoe, played by Palmer. Davidson steps into the role of Travis, Russell's partner while Longoria plays Russell's wife who finds herself caught in the middle of the mayhem.
Eva Longoria On Her Role
Sharing more about her role, Longoria recently revealed that her character isn't just a background presence but a crucial part of the storyline.
'What I loved about the script and what I love about this film too is that I play Eddie's wife, but I end up going along for the ride. I end up part of the adventure. And through a series of circumstances, I end up in trouble with them and I'm probably the most sane person in the situation," she said as quoted by ANI.
Longoria added that her character gets the chance to 'save the day" by the end. 'I save the day at the end. I think it's really fun when you're not just the wife of or the girlfriend in a film, when you play a vital part in the adventure," she shared.
Off-Screen Moments With Eddie Murphy
While the film has its share of high-speed chases and comic chaos, Longoria had earlier shared that some of her most memorable experiences happened off-screen. She recalled her time with Murphy between takes.
'My favourite moments with Eddie were off-screen, just sitting around between takes while I totally fangirled. I'd bring up every movie he's ever done. I'm pretty sure he got tired of me asking questions, but I couldn't help it!" she said in an interview with iHola!
She also spoke about the sense of admiration Murphy receives on set. 'He's got such an incredible legacy. You feel everybody kind of have that respect and admiration for a man who's done so much and so well," she shared.
Also Seen In War Of The Worlds
In addition to The Pickup, Longoria was recently seen in War of the Worlds which released on July 30. The film, directed by Rich Lee, is a reimagining of the classic 1898 science fiction story by H.G. Wells. In this version, Longoria stars alongside actor and rapper Ice Cube in a narrative that explores an attempted invasion of Earth.

'Koi Ladki Pass Nahi Aati Thi': Gulshan Grover On This 'Bad Man' Image On Screen

Last Updated: Gulshan Grover says women avoided him for years due to his scary villain roles — until social media helped show his real personality. Gulshan Grover has spent decades terrifying audiences on screen, but in real life, his villainous roles had an unexpected side effect — women kept their distance. The actor, who's famously called Bollywood's 'Bad Man," recently dropped by Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi's home for lunch and a candid chat on their vlog. During the visit, the topic turned to how his menacing characters affected people's perception of him off screen — especially women. When Parmeet asked if his on-screen persona scared women away, Grover didn't hesitate. 'Jab tak social media nahi aaya tha, toh koi ladki pass nahi aati thi because unhe lagta tha jo screen par dekha tha wahi personality has iss aadmi ki," he said. Grover went on to recall how things slowly shifted after social media became part of the picture. 'Aur jab social media aaya aur when I entered a party, hugged Archana, another heroine saw it and pehle toh unko a Vishwas hua ki film toh bhaag rahi thi aur yahan gale mil rahi hai, yeh kya nonsense hai. Then slowly slowly people understood that he is just doing a role," he explained. Known for unforgettable villainous turns in hits like Ram Lakhan, Mohra, Sir, Hera Pheri and Duplicate, Grover built a legacy playing the bad guy. His bold performance as the over-the-top antagonist in Ram Lakhan made 'Bad Man" his signature – but also blurred the lines between reel and real for many fans. Now, thanks to social media, Grover says people can finally see the difference between the character and the man himself. Gulshan Grover is set to appear next in Heer Express, directed by Umesh Shukla. The film is produced by Umesh Shukla, Ashish Wagh, Mohit Chhabra, and Sanjay Grover. It marks the debut of Divita Juneja, who stars alongside Ashutosh Rana, Sanjay Mishra, Prit Kamani, and Grover in pivotal roles. Heer Express is slated for a theatrical release on September 12. Obsessive In Love, Doctor Slept With 22-Yr-Old Dead Patient For 7 Yrs: 'Reconstructed Vagina For...'

Last Updated: Tanzler paid for her funeral and built a large mausoleum, to which he alone had a key. The story of Carl Tanzler and Elena de Hoyos is one of obsession that went far beyond normal limits. It is not about murder or stalking the living. It is about a man who lived with a dead body for years. In 1931, 22-year-old Elena de Hoyos was taken to the Marine Hospital in Key West, Florida. She had tuberculosis, a deadly disease at that time. Carl Tanzler, also known as Count Carl Von Cosel, was a radiologic technician at the hospital. He was not a doctor but believed he could save her life. Tanzler tried unusual treatments, including potions and devices with electrodes. He confessed his love to Elena, but she was not interested. Sadly, she died on October 25, 1931. Mausoleum and Secret Visits Tanzler paid for her funeral and built a large mausoleum, to which he alone had a key. For two years, he visited her grave every night, leaving gifts and even installing a phone inside the tomb. The Shocking Discovery In 1940, rumours spread that Tanzler was living with Elena's body. Her sister visited him and discovered that it was true. Tanzler had taken her corpse from the tomb in 1933. He preserved the body using coat hangers, wax, glass eyes and perfume to mask the smell. He reconstructed her face with plaster and made a wig from her real hair. Her body was dressed, bejewelled and kept in his bed. An autopsy revealed disturbing modifications, but there was no evidence of sexual acts. A Plan to Bring Her Back Tanzler believed he could revive Elena. He built a lab shaped like an aeroplane and claimed flying her into the stratosphere would restore life. Trial and Public Sympathy Tanzler was arrested for grave robbery, but charges were dropped because the statute of limitations had expired. Surprisingly, the public pitied him. Elena's body was displayed at a funeral home, where 6,000 people came to see it before it was buried again in an unmarked grave. Tanzler's Life and Death Carl Tanzler was born in Austria in 1877, married and had two children before abandoning them. He believed he had a vision of his one true love—a dark-haired woman, whom he thought was Elena. He died in 1952, reportedly still with a life-size doll of Elena by his side. This bizarre case remains one of the strangest love stories ever told. view comments First Published: Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. 'Futuristic' Ground With Nap Zone, Special Staff To 'Play With Over-Active Kids'. It's Located In...

Last Updated: August 06, 2025, 07:00 IST From spotless bathrooms to café-style meals, the space is designed for both kids and parents. (Photo Credits: Instagram) A woman shared why she has chosen to raise her child in China instead of America, and her latest reason has left the internet amazed. Through a now-viral video, she gave a sneak peek into what indoor playgrounds in China look like today. 'I can't believe what some indoor playgrounds in China look like now… I took my son to Meland in Beijing and was BLOWN AWAY. It felt like stepping into the future, a mix between an amusement park, a massive jungle gym, and endless pretend-play stations where kids can go wild all day," she shared in her post on Instagram. The video shows an indoor space that looks straight out of a sci-fi movie, complete with glowing tunnels, space-themed installations, and soft padded play zones. Parents can be seen comfortably enjoying the surroundings while their kids explore freely. Designed for Kids, Loved by Parents More than just fun, the playground offers convenience and comfort for parents too. 'They've got a café with legitimately yummy food (and I'm picky!), plus nutritious kids' meals. Need a nap zone? Done. Baby feeding or diaper changes? They've got dedicated spots for that too. And the bathrooms? Spotless—staff were constantly cleaning, so everything felt pristine," she added in her post. Unlike many indoor play spaces that often feel chaotic and poorly maintained, this one stands out for its cleanliness and thoughtful design. The woman appreciated how the playground seemed to have been built with both children and parents in mind. Futuristic and Beautiful 'But the real shocker? The aesthetics. Most playgrounds are… let's be real—ugly. Clashing colours, zero design sense. Meland's the opposite. They collaborate with artists, and every detail looks like it was styled by a pro. Even the colour scheme feels intentional," the post read. The design isn't just functional; it is visually stunning. The lighting, artwork, and colours come together to create a space that feels futuristic and imaginative. It is easy to see why kids would want to spend hours there, and why adults are equally impressed. Watch the video here: Social Media Loves It The video, shared on May 9, has already gained over 9 lakh views. In the comments, many users were in awe. A person asked, 'Omg, where is this? Would love to check it out!" Another said, 'Where's the adult version of this? I need to go!" Swipe Left For Next Video View all 'How much does it cost to go there? So interesting," a user asked. China's playground game is on another level, and the world is taking notice.
