Liverpool target willing to 'run down' deal as Rodyrgo meeting planned
Liverpool's work in the transfer window may not be over as speculation over Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Marc Guehi and Rodrygo continues as Arne Slot prepares his squad for the season Liverpool set the pace in the transfer window earlier in the summer by making the first and most extravagant moves. Florian Wirtz arrived at Anfield in a record deal and joined Bayer Leverkusen team-mate Jeremie Frimpong at the club after Trent Alexander-Arnold depart for Real Madrid. Milos Kerkez also arrived at the club from Bournemouth as the Reds' spending exceeded £200million, with Giorgi Mamardashvili to finally join from Valencia after a deal was made last summer. But the club have been frugal too with goalkeeping additions in Freddie Woodman on a free transfer and Armin Pecsi from Puskas FC for a modest fee. Exits have seen the Reds start to claim some of that money back. Jarell Quansah moved to Bayer Leverkusen for a healthy price, while Liverpool were able to cash in on Caomhin Kelleher and Nat Phillips to Brentford and West Brom respectively. And the business is not yet complete. There is still the suggestion that Arne Slot requires a forwad and a new defender, while speculation remains over the futures of Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Ibrahima Konate. Mirror Football takes a look at the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding the club. Diaz latest Spanish news outlet SPORT claims it appearrs Hansi Flick and Barcelona are ready to 'throw in the towel' in their bid to sign Luis Diaz. The Catalan club, led by sporting director Deco, have shown interest in Liverpool's star, who has just two years remaining on his contract. But the La Liga giants are unwilling to meet a suggested €80million (£69million) asking price. Anfield chiefs are said to be uninterested in doing a deal for the Colombian. It is claimed Diaz will not push for the move at this stage and Barcelona have made contact with the player but not made an official approach to Liverpool. Despite competition from Bayern Munich, Barca seem most likely to see if an opportunity arises later in the window. Liverpool patience If last summer's lack of transfer business showed anything, it was perhaps that Liverpool have patience to make the correct moves. And now that might be part of their thinking once again in landing a new defender. The position is among the club's priorities and there has been talk of a move for Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi. Chronicle Live report the England international is willing to run down the year remaning on his contract. With it previously suggested the ex-Chelsea academy product prefers a move to Anfield over other suitors, that could play well into Liverpool hands. Rodrygo meeting Rodrygo's future could be decided next week with reports claiming a meeting is pencilled in to discuss his future. Real Madrid are open to seeing the Brazilian exit and are leaving the final decision in the player's hands. The 24-year-old is said to be uninterested in a move to Saudi side Al-Nassr and Rodrygo remains focused on staying in Europe. Arsenal have been persistently linked with a potential move, while Liverpool have historical interest. Should Luis Diaz depart Anfield, the Reds could make a move. Former player Fernando Morientes has claimed the player is suited to the Premier League. "But it's true that Rodrygo has Premier League qualities," he said. "Open games, games with space, games with limited resources where he has to navigate in short spaces, a player with tremendous quality and individual talent that can do both. I'd like to see him in the Premier League, and I'd like to see him at Liverpool to see how he performs in that league."

Arsenal close in on Noni Madueke transfer as Viktor Gyokeres takes action
Arsenal have signed three new players this summer and plenty more incomings are expected before the transfer window slams shut, with Noni Madueke close to joining from Chelsea Arsenal's transfer business has ramped up in recent weeks, with Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard all officially joining the club this month. And the spending is set to continue as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad. The Gunners have finished second in the last three Premier League campaigns and will be desperate to win their first league title since 2004 next season. There have also been several outgoings, with Nuno Tavares and Marquinhos joining Lazio and Cruzeiro respectively. Jorginho and Kieran Tierney have also signed for Flamengo and Celtic after their contracts expired, while the club reached an agreement with Takehiro Tomiyasu to terminate his deal a year early. And with all that in mind, Mirror Football takes a look at all the latest transfer news and rumours from in and around the Emirates... Madueke move close Noni Madueke is set to become Arsenal's newest signing, with the Athletic reporting that Chelsea have given him permission to travel back to the UK for a medical. Arsenal have agreed a £52m deal for the England international, who is set to put pen to paper on a five-year deal. Madueke produced 29 goal contributions in 92 appearances for Chelsea, having joined the club from PSV Eindhoven back in 2023. The 23-year-old will be Arsenal's fourth summer signing after goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga and midfielders Martin Zubimendi and Christian Norgaard. Gyokeres goes on strike Viktor Gyokeres has effectively gone on strike in an attempt to force through a move away from Sporting Lisbon this summer. Arsenal remain the favourites to sign the striker, but they have so far failed to reach an agreement with Sporting. However, Gyokeres has now refused to turn up for pre-season training in an attempt to force Sporting's hand. Portuguese outlet Record have reported that a €5m (£4.3m) gap remains between the clubs after their latest talks, with the Gunners prepared to €65m (£56m) upfront plus future payments of €5m (£4.3m) and an additional €10m (£8.6m) in add-ons. Eze latest Mirror Football understands that Arsenal are poised to make a formal approach to Crystal Palace for Eberechi Eze. Eze has a £68m release clause and the Gunners have held several rounds of talks with the player's representatives, CAA Base. Arsenal are hoping they can sign Eze for less than that, but Palace have no desire to accept a lower offer. The Eagles are optimistic that Eze will remain at Selhurst Park, although the England international is open to a move away. Marcus Rashford handed exit route as Viktor Gyokeres makes shock decision
Ruben Amorim has been frustrated by slow progress on transfer deals at Manchester United after seeing just one signing - Matheus Cunha from Wolves - arriving through the door at Old Trafford Manchester United have one signing through the door this summer, but they have no plans to stop there as Ruben Amorim continues revamping his struggling squad. So far, Matheus Cunha is the only player who has arrived at Old Trafford after being signed for £62.5million and there are some frustrations from fans over the lack of progress over other deals. United are still locked in talks with Brentford over a possible move for Bryan Mbeumo but have been unable to agree a fee. There are also a number of unwanted stars like Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho whose futures need finalising as the club look to balance the books and rake in more funds for transfers. With that in mind, Mirror Football has outlined some of the biggest Manchester United transfer stories and gossip. Barcelona make Rashford "priority" target Marcus Rashford will be desperate to make his exit from United this summer after being cast aside by Amorim, forced to train by himself away from the squad at Carrington. United did give Rashford extra time to find a new club following his short loan spell at Aston Villa last season - and now the England star may have found a solution. According to Sky in Germany, Barcelona had seen a bid for Liverpool winger Luis Diaz rejected and are now prepared to go "all-in" on Rashford. The report says boss Hansi Flick has already given the green light to the move, which Barcelona hope will be a loan deal. United might also have to subsidise a portion of Rashford's wages due to the player's eye-watering £325,000-a-week wages and he is said to be willing to lower his wage demands in order to secure an exit. Gyokeres reconsidering United move For months, Manchester United were being talked about as the leading frontrunners to sign Viktor Gyokeres, due to the striker's relationship with boss Amorim. The Portuguese coach helped turn the Swedish star into one of the deadliest strikers in world football but United's failure to qualify for European football saw them fall away from contention - with Arsenal stepping up as favourites. It's understood Arsenal are offering a package of €65m (£56m) plus future payments of €5m and €10m (£8.6m) in add-ons but are around £4m off of Sporting's valuation. Sporting have asked for a "cooling off period" before restarting talks and Gyokeres has reportedly had enough of being patient and has gone on strike at the club - refusing to turn up for the start of pre-season. And now Portuguese outlet Correio da Manha have claimed Gyokeres has opened the door to United once again and is giving the Red Devils a "second look" after being forced to wait to join Arsenal. United want to add another forward player alongside Cunha and would jump at the chance to sign Gyokeres, who netted 54 goals in 52 games last season, as they continue to reach an impasse in talks for Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo. Mbeumo "frustrated" over transfer delay Another player who has been left impatient over a move is United target Mbeumo, who the Red Devils have been in talks to such for much of the summer so far. United have had two bids rejected for Mbeumo, the latest being one of £62.5m - the same fee they paid for Cunha. It's understood Brentford are looking for more than £60m but want the full fee paid upfront, while United want to pay it in instalments. Mbeumo was Brentford's star player last season, netting 20 goals in the Premier League and is seen as a player who could overhaul United's fortunes. But United are yet to return with a third bid and the saga is threatening to drag out even further - causing "frustration" from Mbeumo. Cameroon coach Ashu Cyprian Besong said: 'Yes, obviously he's very frustrated with how long it's taken. But he's a professional and anticipates these things. I spoke to him about a week ago and he is very calm with everything that is going on. "But of course, he's already told them he wants to go to United. He just wanted the two clubs to find an agreement, as he's very grateful for the opportunity that he's been given by Brentford in his career."
