Inter Milan center-forward Marcus Thuram won't let the Champions League fiasco define his career at the San Siro.
Speaking to the New York Times via FCInterNew, 'Ticus' confirmed Nerazzurri's ambition to come back stronger.

'Everything worked for them. And we saw the result: five-nil. The result is the perfect summary of how the match went.
'But I don't think people who follow football will remember our team just for that last match because we delivered great performances against big teams like Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

'I believe we were among the top four teams in the Champions League group stage.
'So, as far as I'm concerned, I don't remember this Champions League season through just one match, the last one.
'I believe we also grew as a team, and what happened, happened in the final. But you can't summarize our season through that one game.'

However, Thuram is adamant Inter will emerge stronger from the Munich debacle.
'I don't believe Munich was the last chance,' he added. 'Almost more than three-quarters of the team that played in the Champions League final are still under contract with Inter.
'Therefore, I don't think it was the last opportunity. I don't think we saw it as the last chance.

'We were just disappointed to lose the final, to lose it in that way, and to miss out on a great opportunity that could have added so much to our careers…
'We still have many seasons to play. I still have many seasons at Inter. It wasn't the last chance. It was a missed opportunity.'
Finally, he remembered the famous Giannis Antetokounmpo interview regarding the concept of failure in sports.
'Remember, Giannis did that interview saying that Michael Jordan didn't fail when he didn't win the NBA ring.
'I think that's the right way to look at sport because there's also the journey.
'There's the result, of course. We're all competitive. We all want to win in the end. But there's also the journey that brings us to the final.

'I don't think we should throw away that journey because if we had to sign off on this season, personally, I'd sign to reach the final every time.
'That's what we need to remember. Michael Jordan played 15 years and won six championships. Were the other nine years a failure?'
